A million years too late

The object Alusec held in his hand was what he took from the sleeping place of the first crab he killed. This was the source core of a sea monster.

It was spherical and had a charcoal-colored body with little red glowing dots.

A source core stores the energy from a monster's cultivation after it dies but only very powerful monsters could have a source core. Even the Crab lord didn't have a source core.

If the energy inside was absorbed it could increase the cultivation level of a person or a monster.

This was why the crab went after Alusec with so much animosity. The source core was very precious. Alusec wondered how the crab came to own such an item in the first place.

Alusec stared at the vast green underwater look, extending his senses around a circumference of more than a thousand meters. Since the fight with the crabs, Alusec had lost his sense of direction.

"Hmm?" Alusec already found which direction to take to get back to the island but he noticed that the deeper he spread his senses into the ocean, the more powerful the sea monsters were and the number of the ones he sensed was already in the millions. Even the crab lord turf was occupied by its many offsprings, who were well in thousands.

"So this is why they say it's dangerous to come here, it's not even because of the powerful sea monsters but because of their numbers. The sea monsters population must exceed the people living on land by at least a hundred thousand percent.... how was Beni city able to create a city and survive for this long?" Alusec had an intrigued look on his face as he analyzed, "If I had paid more attention to this planet when I last visited I wouldn't be in the dark like this... well no point in fussing too much about It, I'll find out all I need to know at the tournament." Alusec used the current of the ocean to travel over a thousand feet in one second. A long trail of waves followed behind him.

On another side of the island, two beautiful looking girls could be seen coming from the forest area with the sun setting behind them, heading towards the shore. The one was walking in front wore a short tight fitted green robe, a four-feet katana with a green hilt was hooked to her waist while the one walking behind her wore a white robe. They both had an emblem of two moons on the back of their robes and also had similar facial features.

As the walked towards the shore, it looked like they were in banter because the one behind kept throwing her hands up as she spoke with a look of frustration on her face.

"Big sis, it's dangerous, you can't do that.... even those old geezers in our family do not dare wander out there alone, talk less of you, who is way weaker than they are," The one behind spoke with a frustrated look while trying to convince the one walking bossily in front.

"Briella, I told you before.... I am currently at a bottleneck of my cultivation so I need to face a dangerous situation to breakthrough," The so-called big sis spoke without even turning around or slowing down the slightest.

Ocean water blasted out in several directions as a half-nude man with dredlocks emerged from within, leaping out of the ocean and landing on the shore a few feet away from both sisters.

They stared at the half-nude man, with a handsome face, broad chest, and chiseled abs, wondering If he came here to skinny dip but upon seeing his tattered trousers made of beast hides they cast that thought to the back of their mind.

'He looks young but he must be very powerful to be able to come out of the ocean alive.' Briella thought but her senior sister's words contracted with her thinking.

"Aha, I told you Briella, he's at the star transformation level too and he was able to survive... There's no way that I'll die in there if someone on the same cultivation level as me survived," The senior sister said with a prideful look while pointing at Alusec.

The senior sister was able to sense Alusec's cultivation level at the moment since he didn't conceal his aura and since Briella wasn't as powerful as they were she couldn't sense either of their levels.

Alusec could more or less guess what was happening and decided to speak up, "You'll die!" he said while walking forward, passing beside them without uttering another word.

Briella just watched and couldn't say a word but she felt a unique aura exuding from his person.

"Excuse me? what do you mean die? You survived, didn't you?" The senior sister asked with a menacing glare.

Alusec paused in his tracks and turned his neck around to stare at her without moving his body, "You're weak! The ocean isn't a playground!" Alusec's gaze was cold like that of a mythological beast.

The senior sister subconsciously shivered and moved a step back when she met his gaze but she gritted her teeth and stared back at him, "If you think I'm weak then accept my challenge.... I challenge you to a duel," She spoke while unsheathing her katana.

Briella stared with wide eyes at her senior sister wondering how the situation developed to this stage, "Big Sis, What are you doing? have you gone mad? He looks dangerous," She spoke with a tone full of wariness but her senior sister did not back down. She pointed her katana at Alusec, waiting for his reply.

"hehe, a duel?" Alusec asked with light laughter, "You're a million years too late... go play in the sand like the rest of your mates." Before the last sentence was completed, Alusec had already vanished from his standing point. His voice was still lingering in the air.
