Goddess Abyssal System

[Kingdom Building, Demons, Monsters, Dungeons] You know those isekai'd stories where the male lead gets sent to another world and get these really awesome skills that look like trash? It's about the same thing that happened to the main character in this story. Sun Min-Ji. Oh? Did you just notice the name? That's right, the main character this time is female. Will it be like those shojo manga with romance and a man always at the rescue? No. Not this time. This particular female lead will experience a reincarnation. After dying from a mysterious illness, she reawakens into the body of a naked woman. This naked woman had been raped and killed then disposed of into the bottom of the Abyss. She learns the woman had the same name and was once a hero discriminated against for being a woman with power. After receiving such horrific memories, Sun decided she would take revenge for the woman's body she took over. At the lowest floor of the Abyss, Sun Min-Ji will discover something that will unlock the Abyssal System. With this system she will revive the great Abyss and become the Goddess of a massive Underworld Kingdom.

Raiding the First Dungeon

"So, how will we go about rebuilding the Abyss?" Sun asked.

"I'm sorry. I possess nothing." Roscha said regrettably.

When Sun was told that she would now be able to gain access to the Moon Goddess's belongings, she expected a lot. But what she found out was Roscha had no property to speak of.

"It was all repossessed by the empire. I have nothing." She admitted.

Sun realized the plan to rebuild the Abyss was going to take some time. "So, what now?" Syth asked.

He stood by her in the boss room that had not a single seat for her to sit. "I'm not certain what we can do about it. I'm not yet ready to go out into the world. If I do, I will only get killed by something stronger than myself." Sun stated.

"That's right. Sun is still freshly born, there must be a way to go about everything without getting herself killed!" Roscha agrees.

"Have you two forgotten that I'm a human?" Syth asked.

"Ah!" Roscha exclaimed. "But what can a human do to help Sun?"

Syth sighed, "isn't it obvious? I can go out there into the world. If I go find a dungeon for the princess to raid, wouldn't it help her level up?" He asked.

"That's it! A dungeon! What a smart human, to think I didn't think of that." Roscha says.

"Hm? A dungeon? I guess that's a solid plan," Sun spoke thoughtfully.

"Of course it is! I shall return with good news. If I remember correctly, there are several dungeons near here. I shall go stake them out to be sure no humans have possessed either of them." Syth says.

Syth teleported to the entrance of the dungeon. While he knew about the dungeons, he has not been to either of them. He could pin point a few locations though. Three of which were a nice walk away. It's a good thing he had been close enough to shorten the distance to those three dungeons.

For the first location, he remembered there was a close river near it. If he teleported to that river it will only take him a couple of hours to reach the dungeon. Knowing the exact location will make it easier to teleport to from now on. But when he got there he was met with an upsetting scene.

Not only was the dungeon occupied by humans, it seems they weren't humans that were going to be easy for himself to deal with. Damn. Looks like knights from the kingdom. Why would they be at a small dungeon like this? Let's get closer to hear some of the conversations.

"So, there's supposed to be some kind of impressive crystal in there somewhere." One of the knights stated.

"Nah, that's just an excuse. If I remember correctly, the Crown Prince noticed something beyond that in there. It's unfortunate that the owner of this dungeon is one of those things."

One of those things? What were they talking about? It seems to be something hard to deal with. For now, he'll have to check out the next dungeon. This one will have to wait.

Syth teleported to his next destination which was at the base of a mountain. The next dungeon was not as close as the other and will take him at least a day to reach this time. He had to sleep outside where dangers lurked at every corner, but as a mercenary used to these trials, he knew how to camouflage into any background.

It's not like he couldn't defend himself, he just didn't want to take his time getting back to his master. By the next day he reached the mountain's cliff. He finally found the dungeon near a water stream. From the looks of it, there were no humans in the vicinity. But there was one problem.

The dungeon was empty. Being empty wasn't completely a bad thing, since it could reform itself. The problem was how long it needed to reform.

"This one's a dud too." Syth muttered.

The dungeon he saved for last was actually a lot closer to the Abyss. The reason he didn't come to it first was simple, he knew what kind of dungeon it was. The closer a dungeon is to the Abyss, the better. Despite the Abyss being monsterless, it still had depth in mana strong enough to cause the world to react.

He stood at the entrance of the dungeon and shivered slightly. Was this really a good place to bring his master? As newborn demon, such a dungeon to take on may be a problem.

Syth turned away after logging in the location for teleportation. He had no choice, it was the last dungeon closest to the Abyss and the only one that's available to raid.

"Let's go back." He told himself.

When he teleported back to the bottom floor of the Abyss he had a thought. With it being so empty here, wouldn't it be more efficient to have someone taking care of the maintenance of the Abyss? The master wouldn't be able to do it on her own, and he had to stay by his master's side constantly.

Should he mention bringing in more subordinates? But where will they start? Who would willing want to work in the Abyss for a demon they don't know? She's still weak and does not hold enough power. A little longer. He'll continue to watch his master grow until she becomes a force no one can stop.

Sun turned her gaze to him, "How did it go?" She asked.

"I think I might have found the perfect dungeon to level up in." He pointed out.

That's right. Even if it's a difficult level to defeat, he has to believe in the one he calls master.

Sun was glad to hear the news. It was only a matter of time before she reaches level ten to unlock the Abyss Lottery. She's curious to see what the lottery will offer her. "Then shall we head out?" She asked.

With that, Syth and Sun teleported to the mountain that held the dungeon.

"If I may be honest, Master, this won't be that easy. Since this dungeon is the home of the undead." He says.

Sun stared at the entrance where she could feel mana being released from the inside. "It truly is domineering. The undead, huh. I guess it would be rather difficult to take on something like that at my level." She muttered.

Syth felt nervous for his master. She turned to him. "shall we go in then?"

He swallowed and nodded. As a mercenary he should use some of the skills he acquired just in case she needed him. Moments like this he wished he was a lot stronger.

The undead were creatures that are said to be the most difficult monsters to approach. It's not because they were strong physically that made them difficult but the fact they run in a group. The numbers of the undead become overwhelming for adventurers and in most cases they die due to this reason.

What will become of his master who only has herself to take on such a dungeon? The question festered the deeper they went.

"Looks like they're coming." She stated.

Sure enough the deep moans of the undead were steadily approaching. "Please be careful master. The only way to kill a non-living creature is to take them down with blunt force. Magic will not work against them." He warned.

"I get it Syth. Thanks for worrying about me."

Skeletons. The type of undead that will only completely die by smashing it's skull. A bit like zombies but not entirely the same. For zombies burning them after taking a direct hit to the head should be burned so as not to come back to life later.

He watched with worry as his master took down skeletons with nothing but her bare hands. This was how a Succubus fights. After a while. Sun finally reached level ten as she had wanted.

It was a bit difficult fighting the waves of the undead that continuously approached her but it was worth it.

[Level Up!]

[Level Up!]

[You unlocked the Abyss Lottery!]

[Level Up!]

[Level Up!]

She had reached level 12 without any problems. She even learned the the undead would give dark mana once their essence is collected. It's not just a soul she could take. If a creature is without a soul, extracting the next best thing occurs. Essence.

"You did a lot better than I thought. I see I had nothing to worry about." He says.

"I may be newborn, but even id I'm only half demon, I am still a demon." She pointed out.

"I'll remember this well." He says.

And so they continued ahead. Sun wanted to take a look at her reward but it was no the right time. She'll have a look once she's finished up here. By the time they reached the boss room, she had leveled up five times. She was now level seventeen.

They stood at the door where dark mana gathered at an immense amount.

"I have a really bad feeling about this, master." He stated.

She had been injured a few times but here she stood as though it didn't faze her one bit.

"Doesn't matter. I must continue to get stronger." Was all that she said.

She paused without looking back at him, "stay here, I'll continue on without you." She says.

Sun entered through the doubled doors. This was her chance to see how much stronger she has become. What kind of boss will appear?
