11 Turning In Bounties

'Great, now that I'm at least two hours away from the border, I can finally turn in these bounties. They're just bandits, so they are probably low ranked anyways. But they can get me some nice cash. Wait, shit! Why did I even buy a sword when I could just make one with one of my wishes! I'm stupid...' Tokimo was seriously doubting his intelligence.

He strolled through a little hamlet tucked away in the woods, which appeared to be any old town with its modest quantity of wooden dwellings. There were horse-drawn carriages and people dressed in traditional shinobi garb. This piqued Tokimo's interest because he was a self-proclaimed "history buff." I know, it's a little pathetic for such a cool and sophisticated person.

A few of individuals fixed their focus on him as he walked through town. They hadn't seen a face like his in this area before, so it was only natural. Mothers reprimanded any children who stared at him for too long, claiming it was impolite. He continued going till he came to a little abandoned shed with steel fencing, which was unusual for a random town to have.

'This must be where the place to collect bounties is hidden. Naturally, they wouldn't put it out in the open. It needs to be hidden from the common population so they don't know what is going on. ' Tokimo thought to himself.

He walked towards the steel blockage, and knocked on it. Within a couple seconds, the steel obstacle slid to the left, allowing Tokimo clear path into the wooden shed. He looked around for a bit before he took a cautious breath and continued forwards. His hands extended towards the door, before he twisted his hands while it was on the door knob to open the door.

Several shinobi dressed in civilian clothing were inside the wooden home. Because of the aura they exude, he could tell they weren't ordinary civilians. The low bounty area, the mid bounty section, and the high bounty section were all places where you might turn in your bounty. Despite the large number of shinobi, the high reward section was nearly vacant. The majority of them were in the middle bounty area.

Tokimo walked into the wooden home and towards the low bounty portion. He maintained his attention on all of the shinobi and concluded that they were all at least C and B ranked. He knew you started turning in shinobi bounties around the mid bounty section, but he only got one bandit. To talented shinobi, or in Tokimo's case, fucking overpowered shinobi, bandits are minor annoyances.

They payed him no mind and continued to wait in line like normal. After what seemed like hours, Tokimo finally arrived to the esteemed low bounty area. There was really only one person ahead of him in line so the wait time wasn't any longer than fifteen minutes.

"Next up" Said the bounty collector, who was an old man with several scars on his face. He wore dark blue and grey robes that were tied with a medium sized obi. He was looking downwards, but his gaze steadily rose up to Tokimo.

"You're strong, boy." Said the man.

Tokimo wasn't sure how to respond, but that sure did stroke his ego. On the outside, his face didn't show any sign of emotion. He was unreadable. "Thanks." Was what he decided to go with. The old man seemed to practically be staring holes in him. He looked to be in deep thought.

"Tell me, boy. What bounty did ya' get." The old man stopped looking at Tokimo, and grabbed a piece of paper out of thin air. Tokimo wasn't in the mood to question how, what, and why the fuck that was possible.

Tokimo took out his scroll that was positioned on his side, and unsealed the bandit leaders head. "It's nothing much, just a bandit." Tokimo stated, disinterest evident. The man seemed to be holding back a chuckle. Youngsters these days.

"Alright, so you've gotten the infamous Tokeyamo Oreborichi's bounty, huh?" Asked the old man. "This guy has been terrorizing the civilian population of a couple small villages, he's been extorting money and participating in several cases of sexual assault." He continued.

'Huh, but wasn't he just some low rate cannon fodder? He never appeared in the show. Seems like the plot hasn't fully thickened yet.' Tokimo thought to himself. "Oh, well that's great. I just needed cash, how much is this guy worth?" Questioned Tokimo with some interest.

"Hmm, he's worth about 75,000 ryo. Not much in the grand scale of things, boy. It can still get you where you need to be in the future though." The old man answered.

'He really is low rate, huh. 75,000 ryo will be just enough for what I need though. It's a good start.' Tokimo had his hands placed on his chin in a thinking position. "Hey, what's your name old man?" The old man had a tick mark on his forehead for being called "old", but nonetheless, he answered. "I'm Greware, boy. Call me Greware."

Tokimo finally expressed himself. He smirked, "You got it, old man. Thanks for the cash. If things can work out, we'll definitely see each other again."

"For sure." Was all Greware said.

Tokimo turned around, and left the shed through the doorway. He once again passed through the metal blockage and continued on throughout the forest.

It's time to begin his journey.
