4 God System

"Okay." Better than nothing, at the very least Luke thought, "So can you tell me what your purpose is?" He asked, and this time he was more cautious.

He didn't want to be betrayed again and trust the wrong person.

After his last experience, he has learned that trust is not something to be given easily.

So, before he does anything, he needs to know what purpose the system has for taking his soul away.

[Sigh…]

[Then let me explain first what I am.]

"Sure." Luke nodded and focused on what the system wanted to say, as everything depended on its explanation.

The system's purpose for taking his soul away would determine his decision, which he must make sure of before making any decisions.

[Foremost, this system is called the God System.]

[The system will reincarnate the host in an apocalyptic world...]

"Apocalypse... Fuck"

Just from the name, Luke already knew what kind of trouble he was getting into, which he didn't like at all.

However, he decided to hear the system out and understand its purpose before making any hasty decisions.

[Host, I know what you're thinking of.]

"Cough, please continue..."

[-_-]

[Host, I assure you, the God System is not here to harm you. In fact, it's quite the opposite. My purpose is to help you become one of the strongest people in the world.]

[The system can grant you powers and abilities beyond your wildest dreams.]

[So, what do you say?]

"No…"

[W-What!?]

[Maybe I heard it wrongly; can you repeat that again, host?]

"Like you heard, I don't want to," Luke answered.

He really didn't want anything to do with this sh*t; his life was already complicated enough. He didn't want to be burdened with any additional responsibilities.

[You're strange host; if it were another person, he or she would have probably accepted.]

"Look, I appreciate your offer, but no, I really don't want to put myself in that kind of situation. It's just not something I'm comfortable with. Maybe someone else would be a better fit for the role."

[That would be impossible.]

"Hm, why?"

[Host, I am not like those systems that you read about in the novels.]

"Oh, what do you mean by that? Are you saying you're different?"

[Yes, I am one of the god systems; not like those minor systems that anyone could bind with, this system wasn't created by anyone; its source of power is something the host can't comprehend yet.]

[The system will not force you to do things you don't want to do. I respect your decision and understand that everyone has their own boundaries and comfort levels.]

Hearing what the system said, Luke had some hesitation, but eventually he decided to refuse...

But the system's next words made him stop opening his mouth and surprised him.

[Don't you want to see your family again and get revenge on that whore you called your ex-girlfriend?]

The mention of his family and ex-girlfriend struck a nerve within Luke, leaving him conflicted.

"What do you mean?"

[If the host accepts to be the official host of the system, the system will give the host the ability to take revenge and see his family again.]

"How can you do that?

I am already dead...

Or are you going to reincarnate me on earth?" Luke asked, his voice filled with a mix of hope and skepticism.

The idea of being given a second chance at life, to seek vengeance and reunite with his loved ones, seemed too good to be true.

[Not exactly host. If the host accepts the system's offer, the host will be teleported to another Earth; you can call it Earth 2.0.]

[Of course, the system will create an exact replica of the host body or let the host possess another body that looks like the host, so the host doesn't have to worry.]

"Wait a second, if I am getting reincarnated into another world, how can I get revenge and see my family?" Luke exclaimed in an angry tone.

He thought he was being tricked again.

[I can't do that, host.]

[The host is already dead on Earth 1.0, and even if I could give you a second life there, it would not benefit the host as that world has nothing to offer you.]

The system kept a calm tone as it explained the situation to Luke.

[However, on Earth 2.0, there is the potential for growth and new opportunities for the host to explore and thrive. The system will ensure that the host's reincarnation is smooth and that their new environment will support their growth in every way possible.]

"Then... Then how can I see my family again or get my revenge?" Luke felt frustrated.

[The answer is simple! Host! Earth 2.0 is a world where you can grow stronger. If you want to return, become strong.]

[Become strong enough that the world can't hold you anymore.]

[That is why, by accepting my offer, you will be given the chance to see your family, seek revenge on those who hurt you.]

Hearing this, Luke felt conflicted and unsure about how to proceed.

On the one hand, he may have felt a strong desire to see his family again, apologize to them, and seek revenge for whatever wrongs he had suffered.

On the other hand, he was also hesitant to act on these impulses.

The image of his family appeared inside his head as he remembered everything they did for him.

How his father worked long hours to provide for them, how his mother always had a warm meal waiting for him after school, and how his sister had always been there for him through thick and thin.

These memories tugged at Luke's heart, reminding him of the love and support his family had given him.

Then I remembered the face of that bitch who betrayed him and the people who beat him without mercy.

The anger and frustration that he had been suppressing for so long began to surface. He knew that it was wrong, but he wanted to seek revenge.

For the first time, he felt something different build inside me. He wanted to change for the first time. Luke wanted to forget everything and do whatever he wanted.

He wanted to break free from the shackles of his past and start anew.
