41 1000 God Points For The Intermediate Stage!

Time passed, and Luke was absorbed in deep thought.

The shocking information from the system still reverberated in his mind.

'If the feelings of the previous Luke were mine, do I really have feelings for Ivy? Do I love her?' he wondered.

He couldn't help but question the authenticity of his emotions, not to mention the feelings he had for his current mother and sister who was training in the academy.

After gaining access to all his memories, Luke also got a glimpse into the emotions he had experienced in the past.

It was overwhelming to realize that those feelings were his own.

As he pondered this revelation, his phone buzzed, interrupting his train of thought. He glanced at the screen to see a message from his mom.

'Mom?'

It's weird; his mother should be back by now.

It was already 10 PM.

His curiosity was piqued. Luke opened the message and read, "Sorry, honey, I will take an extra shift at work today. Don't wait up for me; I'll be home late. I will buy meat for dinner tomorrow. I love you, Mom."

Luke sighed, realizing that his mom would be working another long night, just as she always did.

He couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt.

"Damn it."

"Ugh, forget it, whether she is my mom or not; she took care of me, and I shouldn't be complaining," Luke thought to himself.

He admired his mother's dedication, even though it meant sacrificing precious time with her family and putting her body under constant stress and exhaustion.

Despite the exhaustion she must have felt, she always managed to provide for them and ensure they had a home-cooked meal.

Luke clenched his fist, determined to find a way to ease his mother's burden.

He got up from his seat and walked out of his room.

[Were you going to host?] The system asked, seeing Luke preparing to leave.

"Training." In a simple response, Luke replied.

[Why should the host rest for today?]

"No, I don't feel like resting today," Luke replied firmly.

Even after taking the exam and dealing with Tony and his group, Luke didn't feel any sense of exhaustion.

He was a 1-Star Warrior, even if his stats weren't at the standard level of a 1-Star Warrior. Luke's cosmic energy was already at that level.

[Do you really need to train again so soon?] The system questioned.

"Yes, I need to keep pushing myself," Luke responded determinedly.

[…]

[Sigh, why don't you just accept that you're waiting for your mom to finish her shift?] The system's words made Luke stop in his tracks, causing his body to shudder.

"How did you find out?" Luke asked, his voice filled with surprise.

The system responded with a hint of amusement.

[You're an easy-to-read host; please don't act like a tsundere; a man should always be direct with his feelings.]

Luke's anger flared up at the system's words. "Who do you think you are, telling me how to act?" He snapped back, his voice laced with frustration.

"You're a tsundere; your whole family is a tsundere," Luke retorted, his irritation evident in his tone.

[I'm a system; I don't have family or emotions, but I see that my words have hit a nerve.] The system replied calmly.

Luke took a deep breath, trying to control his emotions. "Alright, enough. I will go and train. I still need to wait for my mother to finish her shift. Furthermore, I can't let her walk back home alone." Luke's anger dissipated as he thought about his mother's safety.

Her shift should have ended at 10, but she took extra hours today and will not finish before 1.

Luke couldn't let her walk back home alone in the middle of the night.

'Not to mention, she wouldn't take a taxi because it would cost money,' Luke thought to himself.

In order to save money, his mother often took public transportation or walked long distances, even late at night.

"Huh…" Luke sighed, realizing how much his mother sacrificed for their family.

Leaving their house, Luke headed to a nearby park close to his mother's work.

His mother worked part-time at a convenience store and at a restaurant close by, so she could move between shifts quickly and save money on transportation.

He knew that if he waited there, he would be able to walk her back home safely.

Luckily for him, both places were in the lower district and close to his house, so the distance wasn't too long.

Especially with Luke's speed, he could be there in 10 minutes.

As he walked to the park, Luke couldn't help but wonder about his status.

When he reached the 1-Star Warrior Stage, he still didn't take a deeper look into his stats.

"Oh, now there is a "+" sign for upgrading the Spirit Master Stage." Luke noticed that he could level up his spirit mastery stage by using God Points, something he couldn't do before.

Curious, Luke pressed on the "+" sign, and a message popped up on his screen.

[Spirit Master: Intermediate 1-Star Warrior]

[Cost: 1000 God Points]

[Yes/No]

"1000 God Points for the Intermediate Stage!" Seeing the cost, Luke's expression changed from curiosity to surprise.

"Isn't that too expensive!?" Luke wanted to complain.

He hadn't expected the upgrade to be so expensive.

"Forget it, I can afford it," Luke muttered to himself.

[Don't worry, host, God Points are easy to earn.] The system's voice suddenly echoed in Luke's mind.

"Really?"

[Yes, in the future, when a host kills a beast that is strong, the host can get a large number of God Points as rewards. Additionally, completing quests and challenges can also earn the host a significant number of God Points. So, don't worry, there are plenty of opportunities to earn more.]

Luke felt relieved, knowing that the system was right.

Just by killing Tony and his group, he got over 200 God Points, and they were only Warrior apprentices. What about stronger beasts?

"System, use all the God Points and upgrade my strength." Luke decided to put all his God Points towards upgrading his strength.

A normal 1-Star Warrior has 1,000 kg of Fist strength; as for Luke, he only has 500 kg, which means he is currently at a disadvantage.

With all his God Points invested in upgrading his strength, Luke expected a significant boost.

[Sure, but before that I need to tell you something, it's important to note that last time it was 10 GP for 50 attributes in strength, 10 GP for 0.1 speed, and 10 GP for 50 attributes in Cosmic Energy.

Now that the host is a 1-Star warrior, the rate of improvement is different. It's now 50 GP for 50 attributes in strength, 50 GP for 0.1 speed, and 50 GP for 20 attributes in Cosmic Energy,] explained the system.

"F*ck that," Luke muttered under his breath.

"Ugh, just do it." With a deep sigh, Luke reluctantly handed over his hard-earned 460 GP to the system.

[Ding! 450 have been deducted from the host.]

[Fist strength: 500 kg—→ 950 Kg]

A great surge of power rushed through Luke's body as his fist strength increased from 500 Kg to 950 Kg.

This feeling was something Luke would never get tired of.

But now, seeing that his balance was only 10 GP, he felt a wave of sadness wash over him. 'I need to earn as much GP as I can when I go and explore outside.' Luke thought as he closed the system's interface and continued walking to the park.

Since it was still early for his mother to get out from the shift, he wasn't in a hurry to get there.
