Final tests

Some millenia have passed since Grey decided to observe the soul's maturing process.

The soul ended up not having any kind of problem. While maturing Grey even decided to test some things in the soul.

He managed to give it some skills and also some knowledge. The result was...

"Master is it still going to take a lot of time?"

"Of course it is. I've told you so many times already."

A talking cat. After what Grey considered the maturing of the soul, he gave it a body. Not an organic one though, something akin to a spiritual body that won't die from old age, but it can still die from injuries.

The cat's fur is black and it's eyes golden, it looked no different from a normal cat, except that it's soul was 'limitless'. It was currently on grey's shoulder, almost falling asleep.

The soul was not the only thing that changed though, Grey gained great control of his powers and so he decided to advance on the Project. Which led to a change of the environment Grey was living in.

In the place of the Core was no longer the giant nebula like mass of energies. Now it was a tree spanning across many kilometers with healthy brown trunk and vibrant green leaves. By changing the core to a tree the energies were now a lot more organized, instead of them being all close together they were now separated, acting as the roots of the tree, connecting it to the rest of the Garden through the Core Network.

On top of the trunk, almost hidden by the dense folliage was a big soul. This was the one Grey decided to use for the system. Right now it is only a mass of stationary Soul energies along with other elements, Grey still hadn't turned the system on because he needed something to test it.

"Project SEGGS is not something that can be made as quickly as you and the others. It needs precise handling and careful calculations or all my work can be for naught."

Indeed, Grey did not stop at only one limitless and modified souls. He actually made quite a lot of them and helped them grow.

"Fucking project..."

Grey heard a low mutter behind him, though he didn't even need to turn around to know who said it.

"Master you're always on that project and never pay attention to me!"

A figure stopped in front him and shook his hand affectionately. It was a pouting little girl that reached his chest. Her long hair is green same has her slit pupil eyes that can send shivers down the spine even though her most striking feature are her black horns that start on her forehead and curve upwards.

"And you, Acedia! Don't think you can get master all for yourself just because you fit in his shoulder!"

She said, pointing to the cat that already fell asleep and didn't even hear her.

"You already get a lot of time Invidia, and you don't need to shout. Did you get what I asked for?"

"Yes! I made sure to bring one from a star Gula ate."

Grey smiled and patted her head gently, Invidia smiled gleefully and closed her eyes enjoying his touch.

"Nice, with the Star Nucleus we can make the system test without any problems."

Invidia nodded her head and took it out, what appeared was a big bright sphere that Grey immediately teleported somewhere.

"With this we can finally test SEGGS."

"Oh~ It seems we're finally ready to see the longest creation in action. Even I was beginning to get eager."

"Tch. Here comes the annoying old man."

"It's good to see you too Invidia."

Already bickering with each other (at least on one side) was a teenager with the hands behind its back wearing long white robes, as if he was a sage that existed since the beginning of time. His hair is a very pale yellow and his eyes a vibrant red. This was Patientia, one of Acedia's younger siblings.

Already in front of the tree Grey extended his hand and touched it gently. Gathering energy in his hand, a panel similar to an hologram from movies on Earth appeared in front of him.

"It's not really seeing it in action since I will only test the basic functions but you will indeed see it working. Project SEGGS: Initiate test program."

For a few moments nothing happened making Invidia frown immensely while Patentia simply kept his gaze on the screen. But then a crisp sound rang through the surrounding area and text started appearing on the screen.

[Initializing test program.]

[Attempting to start core functions... successful]

[Attempting to connect to Core Network... successful]

[Testing communication between the nucleus... 100% functional]

[Testing Soul stabilization... 100% functional]

[Test program initialized succefully.]

[Project SEGGS; Perfectly ready]

After long rows of text on the screen the system had finally started the test program without any problems. If when concluding the test Grey doesn't find any problem within the system then it will be ready to go fully online and at last start the evolution of the Garden.

At this moment even Acedia was paying full attention, after all she was the one who has been with Grey the longest time and she knows that he has spent most of his time creating the thing in front of them.

"It seems there were no problems starting up. SEGGS, appraise Acedia."

When Grey commanded the system Acedia felt a slight shiver along her fur and a smaller screen appeared in front of them.

"No visible problems with the appraisal command it seems~"

Patientia himself helped Grey developing the system, well, atleast the easier parts, but those were enough for him to know how the basic commands were supposed to work.

"Indeed, let's continue the tests..."

They continued making a lot of tests on the system's fnctionality, from the display, gathering and sharing of information, requirements to trigger certain actions and the Soul evolution. In the end they concluded that the system had no problems and was ready to go online.
