45 45. Rewards Of Kindness

The fire vanished once it struck the sand wall that the Folkbinder made just in time. The wall also crumpled down that instant, all the tribe-folks appearing behind it, their faces horrified, and most of them had fallen to the ground on their rears.

The Folkbinder didn't move, frozen in place. He had felt the fire from Hunter's sword through the wall he had made, and already knew the fire didn't contain much power in it—something he now had no doubt Hunter could easily add.

"Where is my Brownie?" Hunter asked again, "Speak, or your head's splatterin' the ground."

"I-In the cookhouse."

"What's your name?" Hunter asked him.

"B-Bayleom of Sandwalker."
