271 Chapter 266: Bait Part 6

As Oliver met this unseen gaze, he immediately felt a sense of fear circulating throughout his body. As skilled as he was and as much experience as he had, this was a being they were sure that not only killed Green Arrow and Kid Flash but also effortlessly took down Superman.

Even if he wanted to face off with such a being, he was ill-equipped for it, and now wasn't the time he could hope to win. So, with that in mind, he immediately stood from his crouched position and was about to leave.

However, he felt his entire body being engulfed in an invisible force before he was pulled through the air and toward the figure. 'Shit,' he thought to himself, quickly trying to reach out to his gear. However, he had no control over his limbs, and like a ragdoll, his body was brought over toward Arias, who then caught him by the scruff of the neck before the invisible force left his figure and brought him to a painful halt.

Oliver immediately gasped for air, but upon feeling sensation in his limbs, he instinctively tried to shake Arias's wrist off; however, he couldn't so much as budge him. He then tried to kick, but it was effortless. He looked like a tantrum-throwing child trying to break a diamond statue.

Seeing all his attacks amount to nothing, Oliver grew especially worried and so he quickly tried to reach into his utility belt, which thankfully didn't fall off. But as he tried to do this, Arius took the liberty of raising his hand in a throwing motion before tossing Green Arrow with incredible force forward. Green Arrow practically flew through the air before his body was stopped by a container with so much force that he dented it inward.

His body immediately thumped to the ground, covered in blood, while his limbs jerked uncontrollably from the result of the heavy damage the back of his skull suffered from the impact, now cracked and with a brain hemorrhage. No amount of armor could have protected him from that single attack, and the lack of any superhuman ability made it so he was incredibly easy to kill.

As Oliver shook there like a fish out of water, his gaze grew blurry and couldn't believe his life was coming to an end. He had faced numerous criminals, been in countless life or death situations, and had always somehow come out alive. In fact, he had been in situations far more tense than this.

However, by some means, he would always emerge on top. Here, however, before he could even have a chance to retaliate or form a plan, he was in this pitiful state. He couldn't feel his hands, he couldn't feel his legs, and his brain felt heavy as he could practically feel the liquid gushing in it, giving him a sort of numbing headache that was unlike anything he'd felt before. He simply felt that he wouldn't survive.

Arias casually began to walk over toward Green Arrow's now limp body that would occasionally jerk uncontrollably. As he reached him, he could see Green Arrow trying his best to raise his bloodshot eyes upward to look at Arias's masked figure, but it was pointless as even raising his head was too much to ask of the dying man. "You served your role well," Arias said, his tone masked, grim, and intimidating, with a slight mechanical tone to it.

Oliver could barely hear the words that were said to him, instead hearing a ringing with occasionally inaudible whispers that kept growing fainter and fainter. Looking at the state he was in, Arias knew it was pointless to say anything to him, nor did he have anything to say apart from what he had just said.

Unfortunately for Oliver, though, Arias wasn't done. Because after saying that, Arias reached out to Oliver's already limp body and first held onto his right arm, while stepping on his chest to keep the rest of his body firmly grounded. Then, much as if he were tearing a piece of cloth, he pulled off Oliver's arm, causing him to let out a low but audible scream.

Arias ignored the scream and did the same to the other hand, before throwing both hands down near a container before saying to himself, "Now we wait."
