196 Chapter 196: Revenge Is Sweet Part 3

Come the following morning, Arias had long since arrived back in Gotham, as if he hadn't left at all.

Despite having gotten a name, he was in no rush to pursue the matter. With so many eyes on him, he had to tread carefully, but at the same time, he wanted to set a firm example of green arrow, and to do that… he needed to leave a lasting impression.

No other thoughts lingered in Arias's mind as he laid in his bed, back against the frame and gaze focused on the screen of his tablet.

On it was information upon information on the man known as Oliver Queen.

Family, Background, Personality, Relationships and anything else of convenience.

Breezing through the content, Arias found few points of attack, but such was expected from a billionaire doubling as a hero.

It was nowhere near as immense as the security Bruce Wayne had set up for himself but it was far from simple either.

His public life was glamorous but rather dull, involving many on and off relationships that Arias could right off as simple flings.

Outside those, the man named Oliver Queen barely had a life outside his work it would seem. But to Arias, he simply turned off the tablet and reached his own conclusion, 'It seems just like Bruce, his life as a vigilante hero takes precedence over his life as a billionaire.'

A small smile appeared on Arias's face as he tossed his tablet aside and walked out of his bedroom and toward the living area.

There he found Cheshire lounging around on a sofa while juggling a kunai in one hand.

Upon seeing Arias, she paused her action and showed a mischievous smile, "good morning boss.~"

Arias met Cheshire's gaze and gave her a smile of his own, surprisingly this unsettled her and cause her to stop smiling completely.

"What? You seem flustered?" Arias mocked as he descended a set of spiral stairs leading to the living room.

Cheshire quickly tried to play off her sudden reaction by speaking more boldly, "well what can I say, I didn't expect to see my boss looking so… edible this early in the morning."

As she spoke, Cheshire let her gaze wander over Arias's body, especially his exposed upper half as he wore only loose sleep pants and nothing else.

Arias narrowed his gaze and approached Cheshire, also letting his gaze wander up and down her body, but unlike her, he gave no compliments and just shifted the topic.

"Interesting, your morning appetite aside, I have a task for you. It's time you show whether or not you're more than just a pretty face." Arias revealed, stepping away from Cheshire and walking toward a nearby sofa.

Cheshire didn't seem fazed by the change in atmosphere and kept her smile visible, "I wouldn't mind being just a pretty face, but if it means making my handsome boss happy, I'm willing to do far more…"

Never one to shy away from provocativeness, Cheshire rested a hand on her hip and made sure to show off her wide hips and plump ass.

"Good, then be ready to leave by tonight. I'll have Mercy make the necessary arrangements for you." Arias replied bluntly, but Cheshire had expected as much, instead finding his reluctance to take her quite arousing.

Cheshire showed a very obvious fake pout and tilted her head in disappointment, "aww, you're not coming with? And here I was looking forward to showing just what else I'm willing to do for you boss~"

At the same time, just a few floors below Arias's private floor, Raven was within the room she was put in, sitting at the edge of the bed while lost in thought.

Her gaze would occasionally wander between her hands and the door handle, unsure of whether to go out or not.

She repeated this action as the minutes ticked by, with the sequence breaking only when her door clicked and automatically swung open.

Her body jerked up and she looked at the door nervously, relaxing only when she saw Arias's casually dressed figure walk through.

"Oh, did I startle you?" Seeing her rather uppity demeanor, Arias showed a small warm smile and asked.

Raven hesitated but shook her head, replying rather monotonously, "No."

"I see. Well I just came to invite you for breakfast in the main lounge area. Given the uniqueness of your situation, I think it will be best you stay here for some time."

As if unsurprised by this sudden revelation, Raven gave a nod. "Oh, I'm not really hungry. And I understand."

She was far more less talkative than Arias assumed, speaking only what was necessary, her words lacking emotion.

Given her unique background, Arias was unsure of how to handle Raven. She seemed both emotionally detached and emotionally unstable at the same time.

What little history was known for her did mention she was subject to emotional bursts but the her now showed no hint of emotional instability, instead it was a pure coldness toward anything and everyone.

But since emotion didn't seem to move her, Arias immediately chose to try the route that seemed to affect her most… fear.

"I insist, you're doing no one any favors by starving yourself. Come along." Arias left no room for discussion, choosing to treat her as a moody teen rather than a ticking time bomb.

Why? Because from his understanding of people, Arias knew that people who've suffered trauma from others do not respond well to false kindness and often over analyze everything.

Just looking at Raven, Arias was sure many people had showed her kindness before… yet her very existence led to their death. With some even shunning her in the end.

Such an experience was likely to have caused Raven to create numerous walls around herself, unwilling to let people in, untrusting, scared of events repeating and so on.

The only real way to get her out of her shell was a balance of force and kindness.

The previous night, he showed her kindness, so now, he needed to show her a more "stern" side.

Unable to refuse, Raven silently stood up and followed behind in short steps.

Hearing the steps behind him, Arias could only sigh inwardly as he concluded to himself. 'In the end she's still just a girl scared of her father. That should change once she learns they are things far more terrifying…'

A/N: Alright, mass release time, In phases though. Next chapter dropping in an hour or so. Also thanks for feedback on whether or not to split GOTO, for now, I'll keep the idea of splitting it. For those who don't understand, it will still be GOTO, and still Arias, the problem I want to avoid that comes from mergence is screen time for characters, since little to no dc Characters will be present for Marvel and it will be more or less a fresh start, taking over a different world. At least if I separate it, readers who want marvel alone can read Marvel while those who prefer Dc can do that and vice versa. Better yet I can focus on one world at a time, thereby fully utilizing it and it's many characters. So in summary, different volumes, same book. So this book can be seen as GOTO Volume 1: DC, the next GOTO Volume 2: Marvel, etc
