1 What Is Psychology?

What is the meaning of death? What is the meaning of life? This is probably a question you have asked yourself countless times but nobody has ever found a clear answer for any of these questions...but that's not what I'm going to talk about, what I'm going to talk about is something though has never been put on the same level of these types of questions if you can find a complete answer for it your understanding of the human mind may reach the point where you can occasionally read someone's mind.

But before that let us go to the basics...have you ever asked your significant other the question "If your mother and I were drowning who would you save?" Most of the time they either brush it off usually with an answer like "I would save both of you" or "I would not be able to decide because I love you both the same amount" so do you understand how these two answers correlate with each other...well both of these directly avoid actually choosing between both of them and when said significant other says this it puts you on the same level as that person's mom.

But most if not all the time if a person would have had that choice and would really have to choose they would choose their mom for very obvious reasons unless they have some serious problems with their mom so who would you choose someone who gave birth to you, raised you even no matter how hard it was or some girl you have feelings for that you probably only met a couple of years ago.

It would not even be a question of "would he" it would be a question of "yeah he's going to save his mom"

Such a simple question but when someone is faced with this choice they would reveal major building blocks that make them a human, if someone saves their girlfriend they are impulsive or very fearful and if someone makes other choices you could see their major building blocks.

But why would I tell you this, is this some sort of riddle? Or maybe some trick question? When facing this problem it is just that...a problem, but for some people, this problem is their reality take those death counts that count how many people died from various deadly calamities from murder to unforeseen viruses but that's it....just a number...the only thing you know is that this single calamity has reaped over 1,000,000 lives but that's it...its not something that will affect you in any way.

But when you face these calamities head-on and instead of watching on the sidelines feeling pity to these people affected by these calamities, you are the one people are feeling pity for.

Let's move on to an equally important topic ...fear such a normal concept to people but such a foreign concept at the same time...what do you describe fear as, maybe being unable to move, or being frightened out of your wits to the point where you run screaming on the top of your lungs like a frightened little girl...these are all things you think of when you think of what fear "is"... but these are merely the after effect like eating food will make you poop feeling fear will make you do one of these things.

But that is merely an aftereffect you can never truly understand fear without experiencing it yourself... let's put on an example, have you ever watched a horror movie and thought "Man what a stupid person why did he do that it is very clearly the wrong choice" you may think this now because you're in the comfort of your home and you have no life-threatening threat, but I assure you that 99.5% of those people that say those things would do the same if not worse if they were in the same situation.

Lastly is one of the biggest building blocks... the ability to think that one is unique, you have consciously or unconsciously thought of yourself as unique at one point in time...somebody that is special but to most people, your life is as Office Worker A or Manager B that's what most people are, just a stereotype that you would treat to every one of those stereotypes.

But let me tell you one staggering example of this. Have you ever thought of joining a cult? Probably not. But we automatically think that those people who join cults even accidentally are all stupid or naive, but we don't understand that we are as susceptible to joining a cult as anyone else.

First, let me explain the basic process or requirements one needs to have for the cult to try to indoctrinate you are having a bad mental state such as getting rejected or something of the sorts, being a greenhorn in life or a "Fresh Little Meat" one can say, but all of these requirements are something that every one of us "common folk" can meet quite easily if I may add but people still refuse to admit so...

Do you know what is in common with all of this.....they all relate to the field of "Psychology"

My name is Shinri Akira and I am a Psychologist!
