Goblin Warrior

"Fuck! Help me!"

Joka shouted as he stared at the large green figure above him.

They were currently in a stalemate as he was able to defend against the sudden ambush with his shield.

Joka gritted his teeth as he defended against the green figure who was pushing its war axe towards his neck.

However, it could be seen that the situation was in the green figure's favor as Joka's shield was gradually being pushed back by the figure.

Seeing the war axe's blade that was nearing his neck, Joka tilted his head to the side.

"Fuck! Where are you!? Moru! Fiollo!"

"I'm sorry but, there's a little something going on here too…!"

Hearing Moru's voice, Joka glanced at them and felt shocked at what he saw.

There were three green figures that surrounded them, four if the one he was fighting were to be included.

'What are those?' Regis's eyes widened as he saw the green figures surrounding them.

They looked like goblins, but these green skinned figures were taller and more muscular unlike the normal goblins that were skinny and had a bloated belly.

"How unlucky can we be? Not one, but four goblin warriors!?" Fiollo's voice trembled as he bit his thumb.

'Goblin warriors…?' Regis repeated what he heard in his mind.

He then glanced beside him and saw the fear within Pandora's eyes. Her hands were trembling but she did her best to not make as much as a sound.

Regis tightened his grip on her hand, hoping to calm her down even by the tiniest bit.

He turned his head as a scared expression also appeared on his face, "M-Mister, w-what are those? You're stronger than them, right?"

Fiollo flinched a little as he heard Regis's voice.

He slowly looked at the two children behind him as a smile appeared on his face, "We'll survive for sure!"

'Right, these two are still here!' A smirk appeared on Fiollo's face as he looked at Moru.

Moru was currently on high alert as he stared at the three goblin warriors that were slowly circling around their group.

At this moment, he sensed a stare at the back of his neck.

As an assassin, it was natural for him to hone his sense. Though inexperienced, he still had the abilities of an assassin.

He subtly glanced behind him and met Fiollo's eyes as a translucent mist of mana entered his head.

[We can survive if it's only the two of us.]

Fiollo's voice sounded inside his mind along with the mist of mana.

'Oh…'

Moru felt conflicted.

However, just a glance in their and Joka's situation was enough for him to decide.

He nodded slightly as he took a stance and readied his twin daggers, his eyes wandering between the three goblin warriors.

Unbeknownst to the two of them, their actions didn't escape a certain pair of ruby-red eyes.

'Mist Communication, huh?'

Pandora thought as she was able to successfully copy the magic spell.

"Relax, kids. This will be done in no time. I'll show you my most powerful magic spell!" Fiollo said confidently as he held his staff in front.

The blue jewel on the staff started to shine as he closed his eyes, along with his inaudible whispers of incantations.

The surrounding mana started to gather towards him, angering the goblin warriors.

Kraaaa!!!!!!!

The goblin warriors rushed simultaneously towards, brandishing their war axes.

'I can do this. I can do this. Just like what I've practiced…!''

Moru repeatedly thought in his mind as he threw one of his twin daggers with his trembling hands.

Woosh— Shuikkk!!!!

Karrrrr!!!!!!!!

It landed on the right chest of one of the goblin warriors, further enraging it.

'Fuck, I missed it's heart!'

Moru cursed internally as he missed his one chance of decreasing their opponents.

Faced with the onslaught of the two goblin warriors, he did his best in order to dodge their war axes.

Nevertheless, he wasn't able to completely dodge their attacks as wounds still appeared on his body from time to time.

His situation only worsened as the third goblin warrior caught up and joined in the fight.

"Fiollo! I'm really going to die now!!"

"Shut up and dodge!"

[Flash Step]

Moru's body suddenly appeared right behind Fiollo along with his chant.

At this moment, a large magic circle formed by flames rotated in front of Fiollo's staff. Sweat could be seen trickling on his temple as he loudly chanted.

[Mid Rank Magic: Flame Blast]

WOOOOOOOM—!!!!

A massive wave of flame erupted in a semi circular shape, pushing the three goblins back.

Even the one that Joka was fighting was knocked back due to the sheer shockwave produced by the magic spell.

"Woah…" Regis unconsciously muttered under his breath as he saw the power of magic with his own eyes.

'Will I be able to do that too in the future?'

This thought inadvertently appeared in his mind.

Meanwhile, Pandora's eyes were widely opened as if she didn't want to miss a single detail.

"Now!"

However, to their surprise, Fiollo suddenly shouted.

Moru suddenly carried him on his shoulder before disappearing.

[Flash Step]

"Huh?" Regis was confused.

'Why did they choose to leave us now? Didn't they already defeat the…:

Swoosh—

An arrow cut through the air, aiming for his temple.

However, as if by reflex, Regis's right hand moved in a strange manner.

Clang!!!

He used his nails in order to deflect the sharp end of the arrow, making it spin in place mid air.

Then, he used his left palm in order to send the arrow back to where it came from.

Woosh— Shuikk!!!

Kraaaarrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

Pained howls sounded as a goblin fell from one of the trees.

"I see now…"

Regis's eyes lit up in understanding.

He then looked at Fiollo and Moru as more than ten arrows flew their way.

However, Fiollo, who was slung over Moru's shoulder, raised his staff and chanted.

[Basic Magic: Mana Shield]

Clang— Clang— Clang—

The arrows were blocked by a blue translucent shield.

Seeing that they were gradually getting away, Regis smiled as he spoke.

"Now, Pandora."
