Foundation

It had been a few months since Eric had first entered the academe and some things had happened. firstly, his general knowledge about the underworld and its counterpart had grown massive. Second the war on Earth now had an official start date, exactly one year from now. Thirdly, he had gained some new skills, such as {scholer} and {perfected energy system}. Lastly, he learned some new things about how cultivation worked after reaching energy gathering 9.

The stage after energy gathering was 'foundation building', in foundation building you would use the energy you had gathered to build the foundation on which everything would be built later. Different races and factions typically had different preset foundations that they were taught how to build like being given a blueprint. This hell would build a corrupt chapel, whereas 'angles' would build a church. These weren't actual physical buildings but rather something 'built' of energy inside of someone.

If Eric was normal he would build a 'mana ring' as he should use mana, but obviously, he didn't. Foundations would also greatly boost the power and efficiency of energy depending on how 'powerful' the foundation was. Just like there was a difference between a small house in the countryside and a skyscraper in the city there was a difference in foundations, and equally there was a difference in the difficulty of building said foundation.

Eric's plan for building a foundation was to build something that he could change depending on the different energy he absorbed. So after a long while of deliberation, he decided that he would build a planet. It would start as a simple island that would 'grow' each stage of foundation building, stage two it would become an arcapligo, stage three a small continent, and so on as time went on, and on said planet there would be different buildings for each energy. A magic tower, for mana, a demonic cathedral for demonic energy, and so on for the energy he would get in the future.

He would build 1 building for each energy node that he had. Over the last few months, he had reached the total limit of energy nodes that he could build with a grand total of 3600, 10 for each acupuncture point. So at the end of foundation building, he would have 3600 magic towers, 3600 demonic cathedrals, and so on. The problem with this was that it was kind of hard to build 13,200 massive buildings on one island, so he would build an even amount of each until he ran out of space and then focus on improving the island to build more, and once he reached the limit of his big the island could get and how many building he could build he would improve the buildings to their limit, after that he would finally go to the next stage, and start the process all over again. All the while still refining his energy.

This may sound crazy and that's because it was. Not only did it need an absolutely ludicrous amount of energy to do, but the sheer complexity of just starting this would drive most people mad. The only reason he entertained the idea was because the mana problem could be solved relatively easily and he could just keep upgrading enhanced cognition for the complexity. And even this was only possible for him due to his completely bullshit gifts.

But enough of that Currently, Eric was standing in front as she focused on building her own energy system, albeit much lesser than his own for obvious reasons. Once he was sure she was safe he walked into the training room and over to his current project, an energy storage and production model. This was his solution to the energy crisis with his foundation-building plan.

The thing in front of him was a cylinder made of bone about the size of a soda can. Inside the cylinder was a mess of flesh, bone, and some other things. Apparently, when a certain amount of an energy type gathers in a place for long enough it forms 'crystals' of that energy. He had only made a total of 20 of these things as they were pity complex as they not only needed to 'store' a massive amount of energy but also 'produce' hard energy enough but the energy also needed to be attributes which spiked the complexity by several magnitudes.

But these were the hardest parts of his plan, the rest was much easier. The points that he had been given at the start of his stay in the academe were the 'currency' of this place. They could be gotten by doing missions, or by your monthly salary depending on your 'rank' in that grade. Seeing as Eric was able to do most missions with ease and was the top rank he had a rather sizeable stash of points by now.

Using those points he bought everything he needed, that along with some things either made by him or collected on missions he was ready for his 'master plan'. Said master plan was to turn himself into a semi-undead, specifically a lich and the materials he had collected would be used to make his 'phylactery'. The reason he would be a semi-undead and not a full undead was because he wasn't going to 'die' and 'resurrect' rather he would be in a state in between death and life with his body being 'dead' and his soul being 'alive'.

The reason his body was going to 'die' but his soul would 'live' was because his phylactery was going to be his body. Getting the final ready he started to make the 'core' of his phylactery that would be his new heart. Along with the energy canisters he also used high-ranking vampire blood, a perfect flesh golem core, a ghoul king's heart, a banshee's eyes, and a wrath king soul along with a few other miscellanies things. Once this was all ready he called Nyx in. Looking over at the pile of items she said "Are you sure you want to do this?" to which Eric responded "One, it seems fun anyway, two, I get a massage power-up, three, it's needed for my foundation and finally, even if I do die that just means your free." seeing how pediment he was Nyx just sighed as she got ready to do her job. Looking over at her Eric said, "Remember what to do?" "just need to keep your soul stable as the body transforms."
