Chapter Two- A greeting

Venice, Italy

Taking a plane from London to Italy. What a waste of time.

If I had known we were coming to Italy, I would've come here first. But that wasn't the entire point of this story.

I look ahead of me at the school. The words stand before me. On a big sign, big letters marched across the brick building. This place was gorgeous. Golden plates everywhere. It was like a city with tall buildings and small houses. Dorms lined up as a huge lake and battle arena were stationed about two miles south.

A huge statue of the first mutant was placed in the center of it all. So beautiful.

Around me, students wore their school clothing. It was all black pants, either skinny jeans or silk. The shoes had to be white and you either wore a white dress shirt or a black dress shirt.

The girls had different. A skirt that was two inches above the knee, long socks, black shoes, and a black dress shirt.

I was told that only the weekends were the days you could where you felt so.

I take a deep breath. My heart racing as I didn't know what to expect. My dorm wasn't far from here. I'd be sharing with a few rank 2's. No room or place for a rank 1 in this particular school besides what they have given that girl Richard told me about.

The sun came down hard; feeling as if my skin was burning to a good crisp.

It was hard to believe that these students had power. That they could control things such as water, see into the future. I had such trouble realizing that this was my home now.

I head towards the main building. Students stand outside having a conversation. Some of them rough houses as others walked to where they needed to be.

For a place of danger and murder; they say, it seemed to be so normal. you'd think it was a random high school or university.

"First day here, huh?" I hear.

I turn my head to the right, still walking forward to see this guy walking beside me. A bit shorter yet he was so good-looking. His body slim and hair down to his shoulders as mine was as well. "Yes. Tab bit nervous," I reply.

He holds his hand out for me to shake. I didn't want to be rude. First impressions were everything. If I was going to survive in this school full of Gods. I'd need to make some friends first. Some allies. but I'm a rank 1. All them allies wouldn't really matter to me anyway.

"My name is Markus. This is my first time here as well." He chuckles.

"Rank?" I ask.

"10." He looks at me as if trying to get an embarrassing reaction out of me. I simply look down away from his round face and eyes. "You might as well be human," I reply.

Markus chuckles.

"Yeah. What about you?" Markus got a little close.

I step away from a little, not knowing how to take this guy seriously. A little weird should I say.

"I'm a rank 1. I suppose that is something new to these folks around here." I look down as we reach the building.

"Oh! Right! How rude of me. I'm Mann, Mann Kingsman," I introduce myself. I shake Markus's hand once more. Inside was like luxury. The floors were waved and white. The front desk was on the side, giving students walking room. Benches and windows that were tinted out. Plants filled the general area as the smell of fresh fruit seeps into my nose and stomach, giving me a sensation of hunger.

"You're a rank 1??? That is like, the coolest thing I've ever seen! I tried to get a rank one, but I'm far far too weak to do that. You must be God's level! Other than Mente!" Markus says.

I squint my eyes.

that must be the girl's name.... Mente. He had to be talking about her.

"The other rank 1?" I ask.

We keep walking towards the front desk with a lady standing there.

"Yes! She is soooo strong. Takes outrank 9's with a single backhand. I heard they hold competition here. You will be able to fight others just like you to reach a rank 1. After rank one, you'd be considered a God. They also have the warriors program. Since us and Spain have such issues, this school has made a team called the God Force in which students can go and fight off the robots Spain has built to destroy us." Markus just kept talking and talking.

I barely made out what he was saying. it was annoying. I'm not a rude person, but sometimes I wish I had the guts to just ignore people.

"Mann Kingsman, Rank 1, 818," I say.

The woman looks at me and smiles before using her finger type on the hologram table. I press down on the desk and smile awkwardly, waiting for her to give me directions.

She looks up at me and moves her bangs from out of my way.

"You'll be seated over in the waiting section in 2B. Just right over there with those students." She pointed to the right.

"Thank you, ma'am," I respond.

She nods and lifts her chin as Markus speaks to her.

"Markus Capil. Rank 10, 890."

His voice weakens as I reach the waiting section. Four other students. Had to be rank 2's. Seemed so calm. So, different from the rest. I got these vibes from them.

Two girls and two guys. One female reading a book as the other was simply listening to music on her iPhone. The two guys joked and laughed but stopped to stare me down as I walk into the waiting section with my luggage.

One of the females look up.

I almost stop in my tracks when I see what she looks like. Had to be a mix of Japanese and African American. Her skin was brown and clear, eyes small and beautiful. Her hair was so long and curly. Her height was unbelievably nice. She was about 5'0 in height. Had to be.

I look around, struggling to take my eyes off of her.

Nervously sitting down, I try to block my view from her even though she looks at me with such concern.

"you're, uh, new?" I hear.

Words were stuck in my throat as I look up. She was right there. So close to me. She smiled. So beautiful. I nod my head, unable to speak. God, I was making myself seem so dumb!

I swallow and open my mouth.

"Y..ye.. Yeah, first time.. at... here at this place," I say.

She smiled at me and leaned back in her chair with one earbud in.

"I'm Arianna, Arianna Hill. Very nice to meet you." She held out her hand. I reach over and shake it. My heart jumps when I feel the touch of her skin. So soft.

Her thighs were so nice as they were so close to me. Her smell was like sniffing nothing but flowers wherever you moved.

"Mann Kingsman," I introduce.

"What's your rank?" I ask.

She tilts her head and smiles at me. "Do you really want to know????" She says. Her giggle was so cute. "It's not a goooood rank but it's also not a bad one either," Arianna says.

She rests her head on her hand while looking at me. She squeezes her thighs together and smiles even harder while looking at me.

"Why not, haha? I'm rank 1," I say.

I smile at her, sitting up and ready to have a full conversation with this angel.

"Iiiiiiii'm a rank 2," she says. My eyes widen a little. "That's a good one!"

"Noooooo!"

"How not? I heard it goes from 1-10," I say.

"Yeah but in my eyes, it's either first place or no place," Arianna says. I nod my head and look at her. I felt this happiness I haven't felt in so long. The lady from the front desk comes over to the waiting station.

A clipboard in her hand as she motions for everyone to stand up.

"Alright. I'll be escorting you guys to y'all dorms after giving you a tour around the school. conversation and small talk is allowed on the tour, I won't be treating you guys like children. All of you are grown. Now, we may begin the tour at once." She turns around and motioned for everyone to follow her.

I look around for Arianna, but she was walking off with the other girl that was reading that book. I was so happy.

I hadn't even noticed that about 20 other students had stepped into the waiting room. Most of them were guys. Only had like 8 females walking with us at once.
