At lightning speed, Adam dashed over, before the naked dancer even had a chance to react, he bit her throat.

Outside the door, the commotion continued as the bandits searched for the fleeing woman. No one knew what was happening inside the hall.

With the lifeless dancer now down, Adam quickly shut the door, indulging in his feast. The entire castle hall became a scene straight out of hell.

About half an hour later, the bandits caught the escaping woman. In truth, she posed little threat to them besides being a bit clever.

Reprimanding the negligent dungeon guard, Guguka ordered a few men to take the woman back to the dungeon. Meanwhile, he and his crew prepared to return to the castle hall to continue their revelry.

But when he opened the hall's door, his smile froze on his face.

The bandits, who had been sprawled on the ground, were now ghastly corpses, the hall reeked of blood!

A chill wind blew in through the window, sending shivers down everyone's spine.

Coming to their senses, they began to inspect the bodies. Apart from bite marks on their necks, there were no other wounds—clearly, the assailant's intent was blood-sucking, leaving nothing behind!

"Is it... a demon?" the bandits asked tremblingly.

What else could it be but a demon? Perhaps, something even more terrifying!

"Run, the demon is here!" a few bandits started to babble in fear, their faces contorting with panic.

Without hesitation, Guguka drew a blade and walked over to one of the panicked bandits, ending him with one stroke.

Blood always had a particularly deterrent effect at critical moments. Killing one person silenced the entire hall.

Ignoring the horrified gazes of the others, Guguka habitually wiped his curved blade on his sleeve and said coldly, "Don't panic, this is a vampire. I believe one has infiltrated our castle."

Guguka had served in the king's army and participated in various battles, fighting elves, dwarves, and all sorts of strange races. Among these bandits, he held considerable authority, and his calm quickly restored order. All the bandits gathered in the hall as per his command, with Guguka gripping his blade, ready for anything.

Meanwhile, Adam, having fed to his satisfaction, lurked outside the window, observing his prey. Night made him difficult to spot.

As time passed, the bandits began to joke around out of boredom.

"Captain, what exactly is a vampire?" a bandit asked in a hushed voice.

"A vampire is a kind of Descenders, as someone said, humans who sold their souls to demons. They live like humans, gaining strength by sucking blood. They are very evil creatures, supposedly banished by other Fallen," Guguka explained.

Adam heard this clearly, and amid the obvious rumors, he noticed a key word—'Descenders'.

What could that mean? Could it refer to his own group from before? But then, where did these humans come from? Were they descendants of Lilith?

But according to the real Adam, Lilith came to Earth alone, could she reproduce asexually? There were no answers to any of these questions.

Watching the bandits brandishing their gleaming blades, Adam knew that attacking now would be futile. Death was impossible, but losing limbs was certain. He didn't want to risk it. For now, he had to continue hiding in the darkness, waiting for his opportunity.

"What should we do now?"

"Vampires are divided into many generations. The older the vampire is, the more powerful it will be. We don't know how many generations this one is, but as long as we wait until dawn, it's our world," Guguka sneered.

According to legend, vampires feared sunlight. Even the youngest vampires turned to ash in sunlight, and even older ones became weak during the day, weaker than ordinary humans.

Clearly, if the legend was true, waiting for dawn was the right course of action now.

Guguka had already planned countless times in his mind how to sweep through the entire castle after dawn and find that damn vampire, then tear him limb from limb for his brothers' revenge.

As time continued to pass, when the rooster began to crow, Adam finally gave up this meaningless standoff and quietly left the outer wall of the hall.

These guys wanted to wait until daylight to deal with him, but Adam feared they would all pack up and leave during the day. Finding them again in this endless desert wouldn't be so easy then.

So, he quickly found the castle's camel shed and swiftly slit the throats of all the camels with his nails.

In this vast desert, without camels, no one dared to wander around. That's exactly what Adam wanted, to trap these people inside the castle and play his game with them!

Cutting off their way of escape, he began to look for a place to make his lair.

Having never been exposed to sunlight, Adam didn't know if he would truly weaken during the day as the bandits claimed, but the curse from God was clear: "Cannot survive in sunlight".

So, he decided to find a corner to hide for now, partly because dawn was approaching, and partly because he had consumed enough blood, and his body was beginning to change, needing a place to recuperate.

He found an abandoned wine cellar in the castle basement and settled down in a dark corner.

Blood surged through his body, and the surface and wounds began to itch terribly. However, compared to the burning desire earlier, this was tolerable.

As time passed, Adam noticed his skin swelling and the wounds no longer bleeding but oozing white fluid instead.

A few hours later, white fluid began to ooze from his skin, like thick pus, covering his whole body, emitting a foul smell, looking extremely terrifying. The itching and pain became more intense.

These overflowing fluids started to drip, making the surrounding walls and floor sticky.

It was at this moment that Adam heard shouting from outside the wine cellar.

"Hurry, you guys check over there, remember, search every corner, especially the walls and ceiling. The captain found fingerprints on the outer wall, it can climb walls!" a male voice shouted loudly, followed by hurried footsteps.

These guys... did they mistake God's curse "Cannot survive in sunlight" for "Cannot survive during the day"? This was a cellar, there wouldn't be sunlight whether it was day or night!

The muscles on Adam's face, covered in thick fluid, twitched again. This was a smile.

It seemed like the hunt was about to begin again.
