18 Kiara The Phoenix

[God's Cafe, Kira POV]

I arrive back at the cafe only a few seconds before the other three return from their mission.

Jean is unfazed as she turns off her fusion with the Phoenix, and the bird reappears on her shoulder. Wonder Woman seems a little out of breath but otherwise fine meanwhile, Pamela falls on the floor exhausted.

"Welcome back, I take it you all had fun?" I ask them only to be met with a glare from Pamela

"Fun? I was two seconds away from death if not for all the Chitauri suddenly falling unconscious."

"You would've been fine, I was about to help you out," Wonder Woman picks her up and helps her to the couch. "Also, I'm pretty sure they all died what happened with that?" She asks me.

"Oh, I caused some minor damage to their ship, no need to worry about that," I say with a shrug. "Ready for your rewards?"

[Rewards for Main Mission]

[Everyone: 8 CC for each second you had left at the end of the mission. 370 seconds x 8 CC = 2960 CC]

The girls keep waiting quietly after that for a few seconds.

Finally, Pamela asks aloud, "Wait is that it? What about skills or such?"

"Yeah, the participants of the previous mission got both CC and Skills." Wonder Woman added

"Sure, but you got more money, meaning you can choose what ability to buy," I explain.

Jean sighs. "Maybe we should have hurried up with the mission instead of talking to get more CC."

Having recovered for a bit, Pamela now hops up from the couch and brings up the shop menu.

"Too late for that now. Kira, I have over 3000 CC now, you told me about nature magic before, so can I get that now?"

"Getting full Nature magic is still too expensive for you. Still, you could get several specific abilities that would be compatible with you."

I take a moment to think about everything in the store and what would be helpful to her at the moment. Pamela already has a limited ability to control plants, so boosting that would be the most obvious choice.

As an alternative option, she could opt into some magic related to animals or poison.

I bring up three options for her.

[Imbue Poison - Drink poison, store it inside your body, and then imbue it into objects or people. Cost: 1500 CC]

[Animal Fealty (medium) - Any animal you touch will become loyal to the point they are willing to die for you. Works on both regular and magical animals. Only up to 10 animals at the time. Can be negated by a strong bond between animal and their previous owner. Cost: 2500 CC]

[Anthropomorphize Plants - Give plants human features, separate them from the ground and give them the freedom to move around and act on their own. Cost: 3000 CC]

"You could look through the shop for other options, but these are the ones I think fit you the best," I tell her making her display show these abilities.

Looking them over, she thinks for a bit before choosing the last option.

"I don't want to deal with poison, at least for now, and the animal ability has too many limitations, so ill go with the last one."

3000 CC is deducted from her, and she is only left with 10.

"I feel poor," She says, looking at the pitiful number.

"That's because you are."

"Diana, what will you do with your CC?" I ask Wonder Woman, who has been patiently waiting for Pamela to finish.

"You see, our world has a problem with villains constantly escaping prisons. Batman was thinking that maybe you sell some sort of skill to create a dimension that we could throw them all into and be done with it."

"Of course, I have skill for that, but it costs 15,000 CC," I say, and Wonder Woman becomes dejected.

"So we wouldn't be able to afford it for a long time? Do you have any other options for us?" She asks, not willing to give up.

"Hold on now, I wasn't finished," I tell her, and she curiously asks what I mean by that.

"I can give you the option to pool together several people's CC to purchase the ability, that way, you would be able to afford it within two or three missions."

Thinking it over for a minute, she gives a nod. "I will talk it over with The League, so I won't be buying anything for now."

With their rewards received, both Pamela and Diana go back to their own world, with Diana promising to return later to tell me about their decision.

Seeing the two leave, Jean says. "I won't be spending my coins for now, but we do have something else to discuss."

"Naming the bird?" I ask

"Naming the bird," She confirms. "It's getting annoying referring to her as the Phoenix all the time."

"I've always been called the Phoenix, though…" The Phoenix complains on her shoulder.

"How about Cuckles?" I ask Jean and the Phoenix.

"NO!" the Phoenix doesn't like the name. I think it's pretty good, though.

"Kentucky?"

"Are you naming me after a fast-food restaurant or the US state?"

"Drumstick."

"Why does it seem like you are planning to eat me."

"Kiara?"

"Finally, a good name."

With that decided, Jean and the newly named Kiara went upstairs to their room while I stay, waiting for my next guests.

A few hours later, the Avengers arrive fully geared, looking ready for a fight. Behind them in the very back is Nick Fury.

Getting the information about me and the cafe pushed into their heads, the group came to a standstill, trying to process everything.

Tony Stark, wearing his iron man armor, asks Thor. "Hey, Point Break, he one of your friends?"

"We, the Asgardians, aren't actual gods, it's the people of earth who called us that. This one is the real deal."

"So I take it we aren't fighting?" Hawkeye asks, putting away his bow. "Why the hell did you decide to make the door that transports us the women's bathroom door? I guarantee, tomorrow there are going to be rumors of the avengers, led by Nick Fury himself, breaking into and inspecting every female bathroom in the helicarrier."

"Because I was watching you do exactly that, and it was funny?" It really was funny, they were doing a methodical breach and clear of each and every female bathroom in the helicarrier and only got into the cafe at the last bathroom.

"Here, catch," I say, throwing a USB stick to Fury. "All the evidence you would want about Gideon Malick being a leader of Hydra."

Hearing me mention Hydra, everyone in the room is stunned, but out of everyone, Steve has the strongest reaction understandably since he was the one who defeated them back in world war two.

"What do you mean by a leader of Hydra? I defeated Red Skull myself, do you mean to say they weren't defeated even after that?"

"No, they are still around and stronger than before, I want to make a deal with you about this, I intend to use the Hydra," I say, looking at Fury.

"Go on." Fury doesn't seem to be a big fan of mine so far, but at least he is willing to cooperate.

"I will give you a list of Hydra agents inside Shield since you probably want them eliminated as for their-" I start explaining my plan but get cut off by Fury.

"Hydra inside Shield? Are you fucking telling me we've been infiltrated?"

Well yeah, obviously. Did you think you would be clear if they even had people in the world security council?

Seeing the look I'm giving him right now, it seems he also realized that was a stupid assumption.

"Yes. Okay, moving on, I'm going to make the destruction of Hydra bases and elimination of their people a repeatable mission in the cafe for an easy way to give out coins. Of course, you all are also free to take them."

Fury agreed to this on the condition that he would know whenever people entered their world for these missions.

After that, the entire group stayed around to eat at the cafe since they were all hungry from the battle and didn't get a chance to eat due to Fury commanding them up to the helicarrier right away.

Food without any boost effects has been free in the cafe ever since I made the inn on the second floor, and it still tasted much better than anything you would find on earth.

The dinner got livelier halfway through when Jean came down to eat and chat with her former teachers.

Just as the Avengers get ready to go home, the cafe's door opens, and the Ancient One walks in.

After processing the information she got, the Ancient one walks over, sits down by the counter, and waits in silence while the cafe empties.

"Want something to drink?" I ask the bald woman.

Briefly looking through the menu, she buys some herbal tea for 25 CC that boosts the magic capacity of the drinker.

Drinking her tea, she asks, "So as long as we help protect other worlds, you help protect ours?"

"Well, rather than me helping, it's more like the inhabitants of other worlds help, but that's the general idea, yes." I correct her, "Also if you're looking to get rid of that dark dimension thing, that can be done for some CC."

The Ancient One looks somewhat interested, smiling she says, "Well, I had already accepted my death, but staying around to see what happens in the near future might be interesting."
