37 God Stands with Konoha

[With Ozpin]

The mission's start point was already in close proximity to the part of the defensive wall around the village that got broken through by the invading army. Thanks to that, it didn't take long for Ozpin to reach his destination despite going at the pace of his casual stroll through the halls of Beacon.

Battles between ninjas were taking place all around as anyone capable of holding a weapon had taken up arms in defense of their home village against the Oto and Suna invaders.

The three-headed hydra was wreaking havoc among the battlefield, killing both friends and foes alike as it moved its giant body around and attacked anything that moved.

Ozpin stopped right behind the front lines where most of the battles were happening, taking a moment to look up at the giant beast while scratching his chin. "This should be a good chance to see how much the simulation has really boosted my dwindling magic…"

Ozpin focuses on the magic within him, gathering it into a bolt to shoot at the hydra as a ninja appears next to him, shouting, "Hey, what are you doing here? All civilians have been ordered to take shelter, haven't you heard, old man? You should leave before you get hurt."

The ninja's eyes, however, go wide with shock a second later as Ozpin releases the bolt and makes it fly straight at the hydra, destroying one of its three heads.

After a short reboot of his brain, the ninja quickly bows deeply, "Sorry, sir, I will take my leave if you will excuse me." He then hurriedly scurries away, thinking he must have just offended someone from a noble clan or equal status.

Ozpin didn't take notice of the ninja the entire time he was there, first being focused on the magic spell and then after being surprised at the power behind it as it destroyed one of the hydra's heads.

Had he done that? It really shouldn't have been that surprising if not for the fact that he knows he hadn't put anywhere near his full power behind that spell, yet it still did so much damage.

If a half-assed spell did that much, then how much would his epic-ranked skill do? Ozpin had been the first, and so far the only one in the entire Dungeon Simulation to get an epic ranked skill book as a drop, much to the envy of other customers at the cafe as well as his own teammates within the simulation like Glynda and Oozbeck.

Either way, he had dedicated his time to leveling up the skill like crazy just to be able to take it out of the simulation. After using it only once in the simulation, Ozpin had been convinced it would be a much better weapon against the Grimm than even a silver-eyed warrior, now is the time to test out if that holds true.

[Shooting Star - A powerful AoE spell that takes the form of a meteor falling from the sky. Hitting the ground, the meteor deals massive damage to anyone the user considers hostile within a 10-kilometer radius while leaving others untouched. Does not affect the terrain or structures.]

The skill description is a lot different in the real world compared to the simulation as there is no cooldown, mana cost, or damage numbers mentioned anywhere.

"Well, let's see how effective this is," Ozpin mumbles to himself, preparing to put his all into this spell.

With closed eyes, he focuses and feels the magic leaving his body while casting the spell. Slowly but surely, the surroundings get more and more quiet, and the fighting halts as both sides now stare wide-eyed at the brightly burning meteor that has formed above the battlefield, charging down at them, burning with blue flames.

Panic sets in, and many ninjas take off running in random directions as fast as their legs can carry them, just hoping to put some distance between themselves and the giant rock falling from the sky.

Others try to take cover under anything they can find even if they know it wouldn't help, while some, accepting that they could never escape fast enough, kneel down and pray to whatever gods they believe in to save them.

They don't have to pray for long with the speed that the meteor is approaching the ground, soon a loud explosion sounds out, and everything goes white for a while.

The battlefield is dead silent.

At least until one person asks out loud, "Eh? We're not dead?"

Quickly others start regaining their senses and looking around. The Oto and Suna ninjas are all dead, most of their bodies turned to ash by the meteor, while the Konoha ninjas have been left untouched.

"God must have sent that big rock to help defend our home!" A ninja cheers while raising his fist in the air.

"It's a miracle!" Another ninja cheers with him.

"Damn it. Guess I still have to go to work tomorrow…"

As all the Konoha troops celebrate their victory, Ozpin brings out another cup of coffee from somewhere.

"Now, just to wait for the others to finish on their ends."

Note:

Wait, does the Naruto universe even have gods? I feel like I have heard of the Sage of Six Paths being called a god but other than that, I am not really sure. Hiruzen definitely isn't a god despite being called the God of Shinobi.

I gotta say I have never actually watched Naruto as it seems to be 90% filler and not my type of humor, but I've read probably over a hundred Naruto fanfics, so that's where my knowledge about this universe comes from.
