Though Jason had an inkling as to where the discussion was heading he was still slightly confused until he gathered his thoughts and concluded that he had been subjected to a test, one that he hadn't been prepared for.

Greg was still looking around innocently, not knowing what's going on while Mr. Fler stood up and went to the cage while saying.

"My wife would have accepted you even if you wouldn't have been able to defeat five-star wild beasts, solely because of Greg.

Figuring out your attitude and the possibility of you trying to exploit us was more important for us because we didn't want our son to get hurt!

To be honest, we still can't figure out what you really want or if you really want to befriend Greg, but at least I know that you didn't directly lie to us.

I also hope that you don't mind us testing you because we have already seen a few youths who befriended Greg and even Malia because of our wealth.

Both Greg and Malia have excellent soul awakening and even high nobles and big family heirs try to sugar coat their words while trying to get into our good books. But, we are yet to come across someone who is genuinely interested in striking a friendship with our kids.

Changing the subject, Mr. Fler continued.

"And seeing this scaled wolf, I assume that it must be a leader of a slightly bigger pack as they instinctively follow the strong.

We can also conduct a test to check the scaled wolves' potential right now. It shouldn't take too long."

After he was done speaking, Mr. Fler opened the small cage and took out the sleeping scaled wolf.

He retrieved a syringe to draw some of its blood and then vanished from their sights.

Jason´s eyes widened in shock as Mr Fler just disappeared from his sight. Even his exceptional eyes could only see a blur where he had been standing a moment ago.

'Did they accept me or not?' Jason was still confused but asking it directly would seem too rude. Thus, he decided to wait with his mouth hanging open as Mr. Fler's speed was extremely fast.

Greg and Malia were accustomed to their father's speed so it was an everyday occurrence for them, but Jason was still sitting there lost in thoughts.

As he watched Mr. Fler move around in a daze, it seemed to add more to his confusion. Only now, did he remember something Mr. Fler said a moment ago.

"How does he know that I didn't lie?" Jason mumbled.

Greg heard him and said proudly.

"My father has formed a contract with a mutated miniature Jade bat which is an extremely weak magical beast.

Nevertheless, it´s hearing is exceptional and he probably listened to your heartbeat to detect if you had been lying."

While Greg revealed this trait of his father with pride, his mother was dumbfounded by her son's behavior….

Shaking her head in disbelief, she wondered where this naive stupidity had come from.

Was he really their child?

Jason was also astonished that Greg had revealed his father's secrets so easily and felt a little embarrassed.

Clearing his throat, he wanted to explain Greg's mistake to him, as a small fist hit Greg on the back of his head, causing him to fall from the couch.

"Ouchh... Why Malia?" Greg looked at his sister as he rubbed the back of his head with sad eyes. This only earned him another smack from his sister that he evaded by rolling around on the ground.

"How can you be so stupid? You know that one shouldn't reveal soulbonds and their characteristics including what the soulbond shared. And to add to it, it's not even your own soulbond but your dad's!!"

Mrs. Fler still had the dumbfounded look but now it was directed at Malia because of her daughter's violence.

She didn't know how such a beautiful and delicate young girl could transform into a monster once her brother annoyed her.

'Will she ever find a boyfriend' Her mother thought with a sinking feeling, though her next thought alarmed her

'She wouldn't beat her boyfriend up, right???' Gabriella furrowed her brows while thinking about that.

Meanwhile, Jason was smiling, as he saw the siblings bickering with each other. Artemis, who had slept silently on Jason's lap, opened her eyes due to the loud voices before she flapped her wings to soar into the air.

Seeing the sibling pair engaged in a small battle made Artemis shriek as she circled above them, cheering them up.

She liked both of them as Jason transmitted a comfortable feeling for both of them.

Mrs. Fler observed Jason's soulbond circling above them, which hooted sometimes which seemed to be laughter. It caused her to smile lightly before averting her gaze to Jason, who was observing her kids with a gentle and affectionate smile.

Now, she finally understood that Jason didn't want any benefits from them and it would be a shame to leave him behind while they left for good.

Taking him with them wasn't much of a problem.

Even if his talent was bad, Greg and even her daughter, who seemed to be a cold-hearted girl in public, could be themselves while Jason was around.

They didn't have to adjust their behavior to please Jason in any way.

Jason looked at the siblings for some time before he looked at the big cage with the eagle inside it.

He wasn't sure if he was allowed to ask about this, but Jason didn't think there would be much harm in raising a genuine doubt.

"Was this eagle caught by Mr. and Mrs. Fler during the last few days?"

Jason was curious about some things and Mrs. Fler noticed the same so she averted her gaze to him.

"This greater storm eagle is a magical beast and was caught by us two days ago and it will be our client's next soulbond."

Looking at the greater storm eagle, Jason wondered if forming a contract with a matured magical beast without future potential would be that good.

If the client was only searching for a normal magical beast to get a combatant, the shared amount of strength and mana, it would be fine. But, there wouldn't be any increase in the client's soul energy and the chances that a wild magical beast would go on a rampage without forming a deep connection through their soul were also high.

It was dangerous to form a contract with a matured magical beast and not worthwhile if the beast had no potential left.

If a magical beast was a cub it would take some time to mature and in this duration, it would probably form a deeper connection with its master, which would, in most times, be strong enough to prevent a rampage.

Provided that cubs were easier to tame and raise.

Trying to tame a mature wild magical beast? Good luck and have fun! Not only is the soul energy needed extraordinarily large, but there is also the issue of the temper of matured beasts.

Jason's facial expressions were somehow conflicted and he wasn't sure if he should say something or not. It was not his business if the client wanted to form a contract with a dangerous and matured magical beast that didn't have a chance of improving in the future.

Greg and Malia had stopped their brawl some time ago, and they looked at Jason as his expression seemed to grow uncomfortable.

Gabriella noticed the same and she wasn't sure why, but she somehow wanted to ask what was wrong with this magical beast to make Jason have such a surly expression.

She knew that Jasons' 'gut feeling' that he mentioned earlier was something else and grew curious about his opinion. Greg had received a very strong first soulbond, and apparently, Jason's first bond also seemed to be somewhat unique.

Now, if the scaled wolf he had brought over also had some potential, it would mean that it couldn't be a coincidence anymore.

She smiled lightly at Jason to encourage him while saying.

"It's fine, just speak your mind."

Jason pondered how to put it simply before replying,

"This magical beast's potential has already been completely used up. There is no potential left for it to reach the next rank. Contracting it, won't give many benefits, rather it would be quite dangerous, right? Why should someone contract this beast?"
