(9:52 AM)

After resting for a while, I stood up from the chair. Having my thoughts sorted out helps the mind ease quite a bit. I reached in front of the door, wanting to go out.

But I noticed a mirror hanging on the wall and took notice of a few things.

"So that's why." I muttered with a sigh.

I wondered why the people were eyeing me that much. I knew that I was handsome, but it was too much. It turns out it's my outfit, my army uniform.

I can't do much about it until I buy some new clothes. I opened the door, passed through it, heading down the stairs. I find the same guy holding his back with discomfort.

I leave the Inn, making my way into the town center. making my way into the town center. It was a fun stroll going into a bazaar, testing all the good foods. I went into some shops, but all of their clothes were bad.

"Hello... Mister, want to try our fresh drinks?" A stall owner asked.

"Sure... How much for it?" I asked the man.

"Just a bronze coin." He answered me.

"Here you go." I gave him two bronze coins, taking my juice.

"Thank you so much... Can I ask you a question, if you don't mind?" He wanted to ask me a question I don't mind.

"Roll it boss!" I tell him.

"Are you from the capital's military..." He asked with some excitement.

"You can say so... You know the drill, it's a tiring thing... too much responsibility..." I talked a bit with the man.

"Thank you for your service~" He thanked me.

'No... Thank goodness I left that place. The battlefield wasn't a great place.' I thought.

"You're welcome... Ayy keep the nice juices up!" I said, leaving the stall.

[Quest]

[Become an Adventurer]

[Accept] [Decline]

[Random Reward]

Looking at the screen popping up. I felt some joy, so I would gladly accept. Pressing accept, it was on and running.

'Well time to go guilding.' I thought.

...

(Adventurer's Guild)

In a Guildhall filled with Adventurers, it was bustling with their noises. Each of them is doing their things, some talking, others drinking, and ones wanting to take a quest.

Someone opened the guild entrance, turning the hall silent. Everyone's attention is gathered on the door, wanting to see who entered. They were expecting an individual obsessed with goblins.

But it was a young man.

A handsome young man with piercing red eyes and teal hair, disheveled hair adorned with pointed bangs at the front, with his teeth having pointed fangs. He was tall at a height of 188cm with a great build, exuding strength.

He wore a black collared buttoned shirt. Consisting of medals and insignia hung on him, red details including shoulder epaulets, gores at the bottom, and stripes on the sleeves. Other decorations include gold aiguillettes and white fourragères worn on the right shoulder. He furthermore has a red belt on his hip, black pants, and boots. He further wears a pair of black gloves.

He entered the hall, noticing the guild reception. Making his way toward the receptionist, he heard the murmurs of some.

"Who is this guy? I have never seen him..."

"Is he from the army... the rumors were true they look scary."

"Yeah, look at him."

*Sigh*

Reaching the reception, the guild girl welcomed him.

"Welcome to the adventurers guild! What can I help you with today mister?" The guild girl asked.

"Thank you... I want to register as an adventurer." He answered.

"Sure thing..." She replied, forming a lovely smile.

"Are you able to read and write?" She asked him.

"Yeah I know..." He responded, and she handed him a paper.

"Please fill me this adventurers sheet then!"

"Sure thing." He took it, reading the content, and filling it.

[Name: Theodore Vol Grance.]

[Gender: Male.]

[Age: 18.]

[Class: Noble Soldier.]

[Hair: Teal.]

[Eyes: Red.]

[Body type: Fit.]

[Abilities: None.]

He filled more things up before handing the paper over.

"Here you go, miss..." Theodore said, handing the guild girl the sheet. The guild girl started to fill the sheet with her signatures. Then she gave him something.

"And it's done... This tag is of great importance, so please don't lose it." She says, handing Theodore a porcelain tag with Adventurers Guild on it.

"Thank you..." He took it gladly.

"Um... Can you please wait!" The guild girl requested him.

"This tag will show your status within the adventurers' guild. It indicates that you're a porcelain-ranked adventurer. Adventurers may hold one of ten ranks." She explained, listing the rank order. It didn't make sense to him, as some ranks were wrong by value.

[Ranks]

[Rank 1: Platinum.

Rank 2: Gold.

Rank 3: Silver.

Rank 4: Bronze.

Rank 5: Ruby.

Rank 6: Emerald.

Rank 7: Sapphire.

Rank 8: Steel.

Rank 9: Obsidian.

Rank 10: Porcelain.]

She explained a few other things to Theodore, and he thanked her for her work.

[Quest Completed]

Theodore left the guild, wanting to check on his rewards.

"Fufu... What a handsome guy." A witch said, which made her companion irritated.

"Tch... Just a newbie!" The spearman scoffed.

'Nobel Soldier, that's a new class. I wonder why a soldier would become an adventurer.' The guild girl was thinking with a smile, getting interrupted by her friend.

"Heh, a smile... You have your eyes on the new guy, but what about Goblin Slayer-san? Did you forget about him? you greedy girl~" She began to tease her.

"No-No Aa-a what wait!" The guild girl was flustered.

I found a secluded place, an alleyway a bit far away. Touching my system panel, I opened the quest panel.

[Quest Completed]

[Become an Adventurer]

[A random reward is getting selected]

[Night Vision: Increases visibility in the dark.]

I felt my eyes sting. But then, the dark alleyway was more vibrant. Such ability having it will help me greatly in quests. I should go and try to get my first mission done. After all, grinding doesn't stop.

But before that, I wanted to get some equipment. Walking deep into the bustling city center, I found a nice-looking shop.

(Smith's Smith)

'What a name...' I thought.

I go inside the shop, which makes the door ring.

*Ring*

I see a short, robust-looking old blacksmith with thinning white hair on his head. His right eye is closed and sprouts a mustache paired with a beard, with a sturdy blacksmith apron, and black gloves.

He seemed focused on something important, so I waited for him. He was hammering the metal with all his might, looking roughly at it bit by bit. After a while, he took notice of me.

"Sorry, young man... I was busy with somthin right here." He apologized to me and then started to talk.

"It's fine, Boss... What can I get for five silver coins?" I asked the burly man in front.

"Hmm... Five silvers." He was concentrating on something.

"What weapons do you use?" He asked me.

"Swords, daggers, and chains." So I gave him the answer.

"You can have that steel sword, some nice daggers and those steel chains." I looked at what he was pointing at. I can't lie. The stuff is well-made, so I didn't hesitate to buy my things.

"But aren't you going to buy some armor?" He asked me.

"No... I'm fine like that, an armor's heavy weight hinders me a lot and it doesn't fit my style." I gave my answer.

"Are you sure? You, new adventurers, always value style. To try looking cool more than secure. But once you experience death doors, all of you crawl for armory and safety measures." He started to rant at me while packing my stuff.

"Thanks, Smith... I will be back next time." I said, leaving the door shop.

I walked through some alleyways, putting my stuff inside my ten-slot inventory and leaving my sword on my hip.

...

Theodore was back at the guild hall, trying to find a suitable first quest. Making his way towards the quest board, he read all the quests.

[{Eliminate Giant Rats}]

[(Giant rats are disease-ridden monsters that inhabit the sewers of towns along with giant roaches. The bite and blood of giant rats are infectious.

The reward for completion: 20 bronze coins.}]

[{Eliminate A Goblin Cave}]

[{Slay A Dragon}]

[{Demon Slaying}]

[{Hunt a Troll}]

[{Collect Herbs}]

[{Guard a Carriage}]

'Those are some valid missions... But all I can do is rats and goblins, then let me go with goblins.' Theodore thought, picking up the quest sheet hanging on the board.

He strode towards the front desk, wanting to take the mission. Reaching the front desk, the red-eyed youth was met with the guild girl.

"Hey, can you help me take this quest..." He requested, which was earned by a smile.

"Sure thing mister... Wait, goblin slaying. Are you sure you can take this quest without a party? Goblins are hard. There is a sewer rat quest for beginners, I recommend it." She started to ramble, which annoyed him.

"I'm sure guild girl... I will take the quest, don't worry I fought some goblins before." Theodore assured her.

"Sigh... Okay then, make sure to report after finishing it... Here take this map, it will guide you to the cave. Be careful mister I wish you good luck." She said with a smile.

"Thank you... By the way, what's your name?" He asked her. Calling her guild girl wasn't convenient for him.

"I'm Erina, nice to meet you..." She offered her hand.

"Theodore, nice to meet you too!" The red-eyed youth introduced himself.

"Will I will get going, Miss Erina..." He said, leaving.

"Good luck on your adventure!" Erina said aloud, waving her hands.

Theodore left the guild, going on his first mission as an adventurer. Trailing off the map's guide, toward the goblin cave location.

What do you guys feel about the pacing?

I like the start to be slow, but I think it's okay. I didn't want to rush things, it's the second chapter, after all.

Opinion: Be the joker for a day or Be All for one for a day. What will you choose and why?

Give those stones.

If goblin slayer was in GOT who can he beat?
