Accepting A Request

On the request area there were three categories. "Monster", "Evil", and "Good". Xen got mildly irritated at this because why couldn't monsters be good? Is this another example of discrimination?

"How disgusting.." Xen commented in an irritated tone.

Tym smiled and his respect for Xen grew even more. He had assumed Xen was referring to the fact that there was an option to killing innocent humans!

Xen began to read off the list of criminals.

The first one had a picture of a middle aged man with a mohawk, it read:

"Request: Kill.

Name: Jerald

Description: Is known to be around the Faint Forest.

Reason: Not only did he spit on my face by calling me a peasant, he also spit on my baby!

Reward: 1 gold coin, 2 merit points."

Xen rolled his eyes. Oh man, the horror. A serial spitter. But that part of the baby was kind of weird..

The next one had a picture of a hairy old man that was smiling.

"Request: Teach me how to Assassinate!

Name: Jenkins

Description: I'm just curious is all

Reason: Pleaze

Reward: 10 gold coins, 3 merits."

".. definitely not this one." Xen frowned.

"Teacher let's choose the old man, that's so much gold!" Tym shouted with greed in his eyes.

Xen shook his head. 'Ah.. to be an amateur again.. Money has no true value.'

Then Xen laid his eyes upon the perfect request.

The picture was of a man in armor, there was an insignia of a phoenix engraved on the front of it.

"Request: Kill

Name: Unknown

Description: Boss of two wandering scamming merchants. Hates animals.

Reason: Killed my puppy and stole my wife. Then he shot me. Yeah.

Reward: 50 gold coins, 10 merits."

Xen grabbed the request and put it in front of the receptionist.

Two men inside the bar laughed at Xen for the request he chose. They began to make bets whether Xen would come back or not. A third one made a bet that only Tym would come back crying!

"Picking one so soon? This looks like a tough one for a newbie as well. This request has been here for two days, that's quite a while for a human request. I suggest racking up gold to get better equipment first.." The receptionist said immediately.

Xen shook his head angrily. "Do you harass all your members, or is it just us?"

"Oh come on man, I thought we had bonded over the jokes earlier! Right Obsidian?" The man turned his head to a tall figure in robes as they shouted "I only heard the conversation and I thought even I had bonded!".

"What.. is going on?" Xen asked. Tym just laughed at Xen but soon stopped as he saw he was glaring at him.

"Anyway, just write that we took it okay?" Xen asked nicely reluctantly.

"Fine. Don't blame me if you die. Good luck kid." The man wrote down their names as the duo left.

Xen internally was quite annoyed, he was much much older than this receptionist and he had called him a kid.

Back on the busy street, Xen turned toward Tym and smiled.

"You ready for some basic training Tym?" Xen asked with an indifferent expression.

"Yes teacher, no!, Master!" Tym's said as his eyes sparkled.

"Come on.. let's go outside of the town for this.." Xen let out a deep sigh.
