6 Proceeding to military school

A normal-looking boy that has the look under the age of 18 and around the age of 16 could be seen walking in the busy street of the city while wearing a school uniform. He smiled as people looked at him while he followed a familiar face, Alfred, to a direction, "Young master Edward, please don't attract too many attentions in your first day"

The boy nodded and as quietly as possible, he sighed, 'I shouldn't have agreed with the plan of that noble. He is planning to send me to a military school and expect me to join the military as an officer in the imperial army that is actually crowded with disguised goblins.'

While still having that energetic smile on his face, a vein could be seen on his head, 'It is quite annoying that he constantly begged me to agree to this…! …How the heck did they managed to get goblins in the imperial army, anyway?!'

Alfred stopped walking and so does the boy. In front of them were a welcome sign and a big, open, flat land with nothing in it. The butler turned around and bowed to the boy 'young master. We have arrived. This is the entrance of the empire military school. A guide will greet you once you walked inside, you just need to not attract any attention"

He straightens himself and got close to the boy's ear and whispered, "Frigs, I wish you good luck. We will see each other again in 6 months. Don't show your knowledge and talents to the teachers and students. You are allowed to use the name of the noble house of Mercia"

(Imma call him Frigs, but from now on, in dialogue, he will be called Edward!)

Frigs nodded and the butler slowly but surely went on his own way. In front of the boy, were an empty but exquisitely looking entrance, 'So… I don't see any people, not even a security guy?'

He sighed and quickly placed his smile back on before taking his first step toward and pass the entrance. There was nothing for a few seconds, but it all suddenly appeared upon his eyes, 'So magic was involved here? Make sense, considering this is a fantasy world…'

Suddenly, a woman, 10 cm shorter than him, could be seen just 4 metres away from the boy. She has her hands raised and is waving, 'That's my guide?'

He sighed before slowly making his way toward the woman. Upon closer inspection, he found out that the woman seems to be a beautiful young girl with good posture, "Are you my guide?"

(I'm not making this a smut for those who are wondering)

She tilted her head and looked confused, "Guide? Ah! It must be what that butler told you I am. I am a teacher of the empire military school. I'll tell you the basics when we get into our carriage"

"Carriage?"

She clapped her hands exactly two times and suddenly, the sound of stomping could be heard on the ground. And there it was. Stopping in front of him was a carriage designed for the high-class people.

She made a hand gesture, pointing at the carriage with her hand, signing that the boy should be getting inside the carriage. And awkwardly, he did just so and entered the carriage. The woman followed shortly.

The carriage eventually started moving and there it began, "So, Mr Edward, was it?"

The boy nodded, and she continued, "Okay so, the first thing I will tell you is that the building of the school is located in the middle of a vast forest. Please don't panic, there's a lot of magicians there, the beast won't be attacking you"

He nodded, "I won't get too detailed about this. The teachers at the school will tell you about it because the semester only started 2 days ago. Anyway, as a registered, general student in the school, you will be assigned with an assistant, neither both of you can change partners because the school teaches you how to work as a team. Then bla bla bla"

The carriage stopped, the boy got out of the carriage and was greeted by the sight of a giant castle, "So this is the school! I'm kind of excited now, considering the building looks like this!"

He then turned around, waiting for the guide and was surprised by the sight of her waving, closing the door of the carriage as fast as she could and the carriage taking off, 'Well… regret filled me, why did I not listen to her in the entire journey?'

The boy sighed, but seeing the entrance to the castle was so obvious that he couldn't really miss it, he knew where to go to. The time he stepped inside the wide castle yard, a group of knights suddenly exited from the huge and wide open castle door.

They surrounded the boy, with their swords and shields pointing at him, "Reveal yourself!"

"Why are you wearing the school uniform?!"

Soon enough, someone shouted to the knights, "Sheathe your swords!"

Instantly, they did what they were ordered to do and made a way at the circle. A helmless armoured man could be seen walking inside the circle with his helm on his hand, "Mr Edward, am I right? Sorry for the welcome that is perhaps too warm."

He gave the man a light smile, "I don't mind it, maybe I'm the one that is wrong…"

The man chuckled, "Well, you did just entered the castle yard, you should have waited for a guide at the gate of the castle. But you actually did the right thing. The guide was off for the day, so if you waited for him, you would be waiting for a whole day!"

The man giggled, and the boy was silent, "…"

"Haha…"

"Ha…"

"…"

The man cleared his throat, "Ehm, yes, now, let me get you to the principal office. He will then give you a magic sign somewhere in your body. Follow me"
