7 A story

Knock, knock

Sitting behind his desk could be seen an old man, writing something on his book with a big smile on his face. Upon hearing the knock, he paused his writing and shouted, "Come in!"

The door opened, and it revealed the face of the man Frigs encountered, "Sir, the new student is here"

The old man smiled got himself up from his chair excitedly as Frigs took his steps into the room. The door closed almost immediately and the old man excitedly approached Frigs at a fast speed, "Another one of my kind! Finally, after a long time!"

He suddenly transformed into a goblin, an old one, "Don't worry kid, I surrounded this room with a barrier when you took your first step in. You can change into your true form now"

Frigs sighed in relief, but there was also another emotion in him which practically shouted, 'This country really is filled with disguised goblins!'

Soon enough, he transformed into the goblin form. The currently old looking goblin right in front of him chuckled, "You seem huge for goblin's size! Anyway, let me tell you my name, I am Jiq, Jiok's twin brother, and also one of the great magician of the goblins!"

Frigs giggled, somehow it seemed funny to him, weirdly enough, Jiq continued his words without any trace of his bothered by Frigs's giggles, "Ehm! I got the messages from Jiok. You just need to do what he said you to do. And also, improve your physique and magic!"

Frigs stopped his giggling and nodded multiple times, "By the way… Elder Jiq, the guide said someone will become my assistant or something? Will it be a human or a goblin disguised as a human?"

Jiq answered, "Of course it would be a goblin! It would be utterly stupid for goblins to use the humans when we got a lot of goblins disguised as humans here!"

Frigs sighed in relief and asked another question, "…I have been curious since I got to his world… how do goblins not get detected by the humans?"

Jiq sighed and went back and sat in his chair behind his desk. He then searched for something in his drawer. And pulled out a dusty looking old book from the drawer, "I guess its fine for telling you this secret…"

"Long, long time ago, when the goblins' kingdoms were still standing, the goblins are actually not united. But they had one common enemy, almost every creature have one common enemy. It was no other than those beings from the underworld, scary and fierce-looking"

"These demons could appear out of nowhere, in any place, but most of them were in a hot, dark place. One of the ancient goblin kingdoms coincidentally had their capital near a volcano and it's lava. And of course, the demons appeared there, the capitals were massacred and the other kingdoms couldn't turn their blind eye to this, not even humans"

"Some ancient goblins kingdoms that actually made a contract with the demons and the gods from the underworld eventually met the still righteous humans at that moment. For some reason, they conducted an experiment together, combining the power of righteous gods, evil gods, demon's power and mana at the same time"

"Which exploded into a giant ball of power, the one conducting the experiment barely able to set up the barrier so that the energy ball won't impact anything. It was then decided that the experiment was a failure and both sides decided to not continue it anymore, as it was deemed too dangerous"

"But someone claimed they saw something right before the giant ball of power exploded, new and weird energy, could be seen. And it was decided that after the demons were defeated, the experiment was to be continued and it did continue for several centuries, almost a millennium. Eventually, they found out more about this… new energy, nameless energy"

"Creatures can't sense it, but at a certain time, for a split second, here was opening where one could truly see the energy. It is like mana, but unnoticeable and can't be sensed, but can be used. At least it was an idea at that time"

"Well, the humans had a great civil war while that experiment was still ongoing. The victor of the civil war was the empire. Wanting revenge, the humans that were the enemy of the current empire that actually still alive in the goblins secret underground lab, worked hard. And found out that this energy could actually be used like mana."

"But at that point, the empire was already too strong and perhaps, could be called old. The humans soon realized that the energy was not used to harm, but to help. Their thirst for revenge was practically gone at that moment and so, they gave the documents to the goblins, which also have the same principle as them, to use it to help life, not harm them."

"In the end, the humans involved wandered as a group in the world, and the goblins involved eventually died when the empire attacked the goblin empire. The 3 great magicians of the goblins read the documents for 3 months straight as the goblins kingdoms were slowly massacred before burning it"

"The documents itself basically says, 'We might not sense it, we might not see it, we might not even notice it exist, but it did. This world itself is the prime example that there's energy like this. If mana is from life, this energy is from the life that got life from a life that got life from mana. May sounds complicated, but it isn't, just use it and you will uncover it's secret' "

(I don't know what's the energy called, so let's just call it nameless energy)

Jiq closed the book, "That's the end of the story… fascinating, right?"

Frigs nodded, "That was one of the greatest stories I heard before. I didn't know that goblins and humans had such a past. The situation now really tells a twisted story"

He sighed and Jiq sighed as well, "So… do you have any question son?"

Frigs chuckled, "You really sounded like an old man… I don't really have any question, where's the class by the way?"
