30 Mission Complete!

After a few minutes of relishing the perfect atmosphere in the forest, Gloxinia got ready to look for soul beasts so he can age his spirit souls quickly.

Thus, with the plan to just blitz through the years and quickly reach triple purple rings, Gloxinia broke the only rule he had set for the Spirit Ascension Platform and flew up above the trees.

As he broke through the precipice of an ancient tree, a he noticed a bird-type soul beast. A large, green bird was soaring high in the skies, but with a flap of its wings, it suddenly veered and headed straight for him.

An eagle's cry resounded through the sky as the bird's wings somehow hardened.

Seeing the bird flying towards him, Gloxinia did what any rational person in this situation would do and summoned Basquias with its Second Form, Guardian, straight away.

Having summoned a sort of "npc" that can grind years for him, Gloxinia flew back down and hid among the trees, watching the fight between Guardian and the bird.

As the bird approached Guardian, Guardian used two of its six hands and grabbed both its wings.

Pulling them as if to tear the bird apart in half, Guardian managed to rip off both the wings, causing the bird to let out a horrendous screech of pain and disappear in motes of light.

As the screech resounded throughout the forest, hundreds of bird-type soul beasts suddenly converged towards where Guardian was, as if knowing he was the one who killed their family!

As Gloxinia saw all this happen, he couldn't help but swear a little. He had underestimated the amount of soul beasts that would swarm you by too much.. How many were there even? 200? 300?

As the soul beasts got closer and closer to Guardian, Gloxinia used his third spirit ring skill and transformed it into it's third form, Increase.

Guardian split up into countless golden daggers that shot towards all the soul beasts nearby, causing a glowing gold spider-web to show up in the sky, almost like a piece of art.

As the golden daggers intricately webbed their attacks together, the Soul Beasts used whatever means they had to try and survive.

Wind blades, Fire Balls, Mini Tornados.

Any type of attack imaginable was thrown out and yet it did nothing!

The golden web simply got larger and larger, trapping every single flying soul beast inside it.

At the same time, a goldish-brown bear saw what was happening in the sky and ignored it, looking for something to eat.

As the bear used it's amazing sense of smell to look for food, it found a ginger-like smell that enticed it infinitely, causing it to move towards the smell.

After a few seconds, all that could be heard were hundreds of screeches as all the soul beasts dissipated into light, gradually combining and becoming an even bigger light that headed straight towards Gloxinia.

Entering Gloxinia's body, the light nourished his spirit rings and brought almost all of them to year 795, causing all 3 to go from bright white to yellowish-purple in an instant!

As he felt the immense amount of power his spirit souls had gained, Gloxinia was a little stunned and couldn't react to the Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear that showed up behind him and was directly bit to death before he could even press the exit button!

---------------------------

The Spirit Pagoda staff member urgently ordered, "Prepare for emergency treatment."

Gloxinia's body was shivering when the metal box slid out. The affliction didn't stop even after the electrodes were pulled off him.

A dozen staff members dressed in white rushed over to him in a flash. One of them took out a needle and stabbed it into Gloxinia's neck, delivering its contents into his bloodstream.

"Is it that Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear again?"

"Yes! That thing is so violent. It didn't even give this child a chance to press the button. Ah, this child's luck is truly terrible."

Wu Zhangkong calmly watched on as the white-clothed people busily moved to do their work.

After no less than ten minutes, the leader of the white-clothed group heaved a sigh of relief. "Not bad. This child's willpower is very strong and he shouldn't have any problems now. Just let him rest for a while and he'll wake up."

Finished with his explanation, the man left with the rest of the people in white. The scene returned to normal, as if nothing had even happened.

Long Hengxu had been flabbergasted since the moment Gloxinia killed those soul beasts. What waas going on now?

"Teacher Wu, is Gloxinia? Isn't the spirit ascension platform a virtual place? How did he end up like this…" Long Hengxu's words trailed off as he glanced at Gloxinia's pale face, his previous excitement now replaced by fear.

The staff member said, "I have already told you; although the spirit ascension platform is virtual, it still contains a degree of reality. Everything you sense inside of there would be just as if you were feeling it in reality. So if you're harmed inside, then you will still feel all of the pain. The sensations would be exceedingly real and would attack your mind."

"Simply said, if someone witnesses their wrist being slit, then they will also feel the gushing of their blood, the sound of it dripping down. Even when the wound closes and they stop bleeding, they will still sense the blood dripping, so their brain will think they're already dead. After this thought appears in their brain, they will truly begin to die."

"The spirit ascension platform has this problem, especially so for first-timers like you. Fortunately, the effects will gradually decrease as your spiritual power increases. By the time you can ignore the effects though, I don't think you'll be able to enter the elementary spirit ascension platform anymore and will have to enter the intermediate ascension platform instead. The sensations in the intermediate ascension platform are even more different. Hehe, the intermediate ascension platform…"

-------------------

A few moments later, Gloxinia managed to wake up and stood up with a pale face, walking towards Teacher Wu.

'Even if I've already died once, the feeling of dying again certainly doesn't feel nice..' with these thoughts in mind, Gloxinia walked and tripped on a wire on the floor.

Fortunately, before he could fall, Wu Zhangkong managed to grab him and lift him up. "Be careful, you've just felt how it feels to die."

"Haha, sorry sorry.." Apologizing a bit insincerely, Gloxinia hurriedly went to the monitors to see what was happening.

Well, at least thats what he was pretending to do, as in reality he was checking his mission.

As excitement bubbled up inside of him, Wu Zhangkong started speaking to him.

"Do you know why you died?" looking coldly at him, Wu Zhangkong harshly asked.

"Yes.. I got distracted after killing so many soul beasts!" Replying quickly, Gloxinia hurriedly admitted his mistake.

"That's right, it's good you can admit your own mistakes. What year are your spirit rings at now?"

"They have all reached year 795!"

"R-Really?! So fast?!" A bit startled, Wu Zhangkongs cold shell broke a bit before he quickly calmed down and answered his own question, "Actually, it makes sense. You killed so many soul beasts it'd be weird if you didn't get that many years. Good job, just stay here until everyone comes out then."

Author's Note: This chapter originally had more than 3.5k words but I shortened it cause I didn't think you would want to know Tang Wulin's, Gu Yue's, and Xie Xie's experience in the Spirit Ascension Platform. If enough people want it then I'll post it as the next chapter.

Thank you for all the collections and powerstones!
