Fighting Wu Zhangkong Again!

"Alright, Gloxinia it's time for you to fight me!" With that said, Wu Zhangkong walked to the arena and summoned his martial soul, causing a chill to spread and goosebumps to appear.

"Hehe, finally!"

With a smirk, Gloxinia jumped onto the arena and followed Wu Zhangkong's example, summoning his martial souls.

As for why he sounded so confidently, it was simple. Being near the Sacred Tree during his vacation immensely boosted his bloodline powers, causing his Nature Connection skill to strengthen.

Not only that, he also obtained a bloodline ring, which gave him an ability different from the original Gloxinia, an ability more suited to this world!

At this time, Long Hengxu on the sidelines glanced at Gloxinia with an uneasy look in his eyes while he spoke rather hesitatingly, "Begin!"

With the words leaving his mouth, the arena instantly became tense, neither party making the first move. Wu Zhangkong, because he felt it was inappropiate for a teacher to make the first move. Gloxinia, because he was thinking of a strategy to definitely take him down.

Finally, someone moved. But it wasn't the either of them, instead it was Basquias!

Still in it's blanket form, it expanded until it covered Wu Zhangkong's vision before trying to wrap itself around him.

With a cold scoff, Wu Zhangkong waved his sword, immediately sending a gust of cold wind at Basquias, sending it flying.

At this time, Gloxinia who was hiding behind Basquias showed himself.

Apparently attempting to punch Wu Zhangkong, Gloxinia flew towards him at high speeds while throwing a punch.

With a big 'thump', Wu Zhangkong grabbed his fist and threw him back, harshly criticizing him, "I thought you would know better than to compare physical strength with me."

With this harsh critique given, Wu Zhangkong dashed towards Gloxinia, planning to knock him out and reprimand him about making small mistakes in battle afterwards, even if it was just a spar.

Unfortunately for Wu Zhangkong, he failed to notice two things.

The first one being that where Gloxinia's fist hit, small bits of ice unlike ordinary ice was formed.

The second one was the small rainbow spirit ring hidden on Gloxinia's wings, a bloodline spirit ring!

Using his Fairy King Wings, Gloxinia managed to barely dodge Wu Zhangkong's rush and circled around him.

Now, normally Gloxinia would prefer to fly up high in the sky while sending ranged attacks, but he can't here. The arena's ceiling was too low, thus placing him at an immediate disadvantage right at the start of the fight.

However, Gloxinia wasn't disheartened by this fact, instead it only served to excite him even more!

Waving his hand, Gloxinia's third spirit ring lit up and Basquias split into many small golden daggers, all flying towards Wu Zhangkong.

In response, Wu Zhangkong's first spirit ring lit up, creating an intricate net with little to no openings made of ice-like sword slashes to fly towards the incoming daggers.

Wu Zhangkong was calm throughout this entire thing, he knew that it was extremely unlikely for the daggers to break through his Frost Scar spirit skill.

Frost Scar was a spirit skill that could be strengthened the more soul energy he put into it. With the amount the Frost Scar he sent out had, it would be hard for even a Soul Sage to break its defense capability, let alone the martial soul of a Soul Elder.

Unfortunately, Gloxinia wasn't a regular Soul Elder and Wu Zhangkong had severely underestimated the effect 599 Spiritual Energy had for controlling multiple projectiles.

Thus, with a wave of his hand, Basquias' daggers form switched trajectory and formed a pattern resembling that of Wu Zhangkong's Frost Scar, though a little different.

A second later, the daggers and Frost Scar met, but the clash everyone expected to see didn't happen. It was almost as if the daggers had phased through Wu Zhangkong's Frost Scar.

'How did he manage to do that? Does his martial soul have incorporeality now?!'

Astonishment flashed through Wu Zhangkong's eyes as he watched the daggers easily get past his spirit skill and go straight towards him, planning to take him out in one swift move.

Not letting the shock throw him off his game, Wu Zhangkong's expression shifted into a more serious one as he swung his sword while his third spirit ring lit up.

As the sword slashed through the air and in the direction of the daggers, a sword wave made of ice appeared in it's trajectory.

If they were outside, this sword wave would fill the sky and block out the sun!

As the sword wave reached the daggers, Gloxinia was not standing idly.

Gloxinia was actually preparing a sneak attack!

With a wave of Gloxinia's hand, the floor beneath Wu Zhangkong crumbled and gathered together at his legs, holding him down.

Of course, Wu Zhangkong had noticed this before but let him try to fight back so he can see his improvements.

Shooting Gloxinia an approving gaze, Wu Zhangkong's second spirit ring lit up and a frost-like fog instantly filled the room, freezing the earth that attempted to trap his feet.

With a crack, Wu Zhangkong easily stepped out of the 'trap' and coldly spoke, "I'll bring up the standard a bit more. Be careful."

With that said, Wu Zhangkong got into a slashing stance and dashed towards Gloxinia, his eyes glowing purple as he used his weird movement technique.

Reaching him in an instant, Wu Zhangkong flipped his sword as to hit with the flat side and swung at Gloxinia.

Gloxinia's expression appeared to be grave and scared, however, in reality he wasn't either of those.

Instead, he was smug and excited.. He had set up a trap since the beginning of the fight, and Wu Zhangkong fell for it!

With Wu Zhangkong's sword quickly getting closer and closer, Gloxinia's expression changed into a playful one as his first spirit ring lit up and Basquias flew back.

"Be careful, Teacher Wu!" Excitedly shouting out, Gloxinia returned his words to him and clapped his hands hard, as the small bits of ice on Wu Zhangkong's chest quickly spread, freezing him in place as if he was an ice statue.

Author's Note: Its finally the weekend.. :D

Ngl, I feel like I ran outta words to describe stuff during the fight and I didn't want to repeat words so I looked up a dictionary... Idk if it worked out that well though, let me know what y'all thought.

Finally, sorry for the shorter chapter than usual, I wanted to try ending with a slight cliff hanger.. (though it isn't really one..)

Thank you for so many collections and powerstones!
