Chapter 21 | The Chrissy boy

"Huddy how long is it going to take to get there..." Steven said with a paled and bored face.

They had been traveling for three days, and three days on a truck. They took a shortcut in the mountains of west-south of JD prime or else they would have to go to travel through "The Union" which is a state of "THE UNION"

District 101 contained a bunch of districts such as the Prime District, and District 101 was a state. The union in lowercase letters is a state while THE UNION is the country itself. In the south of The Union was South Steria. And on the west of it was The Cycle empire.

"Don't worry Steven, just a few more hours left to go," Huddy informed Steven. "This town is pretty hidden."

"Huh," Steven said. "Why is that?" He asked.

"Because the town is a very old town," Huddy stated. "And it has a curse of eternal night."

"Eternal night?" Steven questioned. "And how is that possible?"

"There's a sword hidden in the town, that a swordsman left a thousand years ago before his death," Huddy answered "He was responsible for taking down a demon army and protecting Claire De Lune but unfortunately died after."

"I see, what were to happen if someone were to take the sword?" Hiroshi asked.

"Then it would bring the day back, but that has its downsides," Huddy stated. "You see, the town from the outside looks like it was one thousand years ago, that's because the villagers evacuated it and from the outside, it looks deserted."

"Because of that, it's hidden and no demons ever think about getting in there."

"Oh, so why did a demon get in there then?" Steven asked.

"I assume that it accidentally wandered in there," Huddy replied. "The town looks day when it's daytime from the outside when inside of the town, it's forever nighttime."

"The sword has a circular ratio of where the curse happens," Huddy stated. "The sword is held in the middle of town, held by the statue of the swordsman."

"COOL!" Steven exclaimed. "Man, swordsmen are so cool!"

"But you are one..." Hiroshi sighed.

Hours went by and finally, they cleared a forest, up ahead they could see a town, and it was necessarily a town but more of a deserted village.

"We're here!" Huddy exclaimed going inside the town, immediately it was like everything changed an in instant. The bright day sky turned into a warm night. The town was more modern than how it looked on the outside, with lanterns hung up everywhere. Everything was beautifully lighted up and peaceful. The buildings were made out of bricks and were around four stories tall. It seemed like it rained recently so the small roads were wet, and so was the concrete sidewalk. It looked more like downtown or a city than a town.

Civilians greeted Huddy and the boys. They were all so friendly and warm, to Steven, it was hard to think that a demon would be in this peaceful city.

Huddy stopped her truck next to a stranger passing by. "Heya Gerold!" Huddy yelled. The stranger was shaken but shifted his eyesight towards Huddy. "Oh, hey Huddy, I didn't see you there." Gerold anxiously said.

"Do Ya know where that new guy came in, he looks like this boy right here?" Huddy said pulling Steven's hair.

"Oh yes, he's sitting at a ramen cart right now," Gerold stated.

"Great Gerold!" Huddy exclaimed, "Thanks a ton!"

Huddy continued driving down the street until they spotted a Ramen Cart.

"That's where he is Steven!" Huddy said. "Go say hi!"

Steven immediately exited the truck and sprinted towards the cart unsheathing his sword.

"Uhm, is he going to kill his brother?" Hiroshi nervously questioned.

Steven then approached a person eating at the ramen cart, he swung his sword towards the person with a grin. Immediately the attack was blocked by the person, both made eye contact. They both stepped back and stared.

"STEVEN!" Chris exclaimed ruffling Steven's hair. "I KNEW YOU WERE ALIVE!!"

"Of course, I was dumbass," Steven said. "You thought I was dead?"

"Nope, not at all." Chris laughed.

The two posed a striking resemblance to each other, although Chris had half white and half black hair, and so was his clothing. He wore a long black and white coat that stretched down to his feet, it was wrapped around a black and white belt that carried a sheathe that had a sword inside of it. He wore a black T-shirt underneath and black jeans.

Chris was two inches taller than Steven and looked much more masculine, although he still looked like Steven. It was no Suprise that they were two brothers.

"Sit down and eat," Chris said sitting back down and sheathing his sword. "I already ordered a bowl for you in case you came."

"Oh thanks," Steven said taking a seat. "Wow, it looks good."

"Yes, the shop owner has worked his life practicing recipes," Chris stated.

"So, Chris, is it true that there's a demon in this town?" Steven questioned. "I can't believe it."

"Well, to be honest, I haven't encountered one while I've been here," Chris stated. "But I've sensed something abnormal."

"Oh okay," Steven said, "But where were you?"

"I was in the Cycle Empire; I think we both got separated at opposite corners," Chris stated.

"Man, and I was at the prime district getting my ass kicked," Steven stated. "I had to fight off a bunch of demons, including a demon that was way stronger than me."

"Oh," Chris said. "Did you come along with any friends?"

"Yeah, Hiroshi, he's at Huddy's truck over there." Steven answered, "He's a swordsman too, well, you can say an Axeman."

"Kay," Chris said. "Well-"

Then something sprinted into an alleyway at a high speed, Steven immediately left the stand and went to chase after it. It was a humanoid figure which was carrying something in its hand, it was too dark for Steven to see who it was.

"Could it be a weapon?" Steven thought. "Could this be the demon?"

He finally closed in on the figure at a dead end. They both were silent with the figure's back turned on Steven. Steven unsheathed his sword and was ready to fight.

"There's no escaping here," Steven said. "Demon."
