66 CHAPTER 66 - JUST ANOTHER BEAT-UP
It's almost midnight, and we're still at the top of the hill, training with Master Siferas and Big Bro Nigel. The place is pretty much deserted, so we can fight and shout with all our hearts out in this place.
"Activate Equip Card: Striker Wing!" I revealed my Command Card and Raynevere sprouted cybernetic wings on her back. With these wings, she soared up in the skies and aimed her bow toward the Gladiatrix Champion.
"Haaa!" Raynevere unleashed three energy arrows toward the opponent! However, Siferas just skipped and slide through the barrage of arrows!
"Activate Equip Card: Buster Wing!" Nigel revealed a Command Card, and Siferas' back cybernetically created two jet engine wings! With these wings, she raised altitude and caught up to Raynevere!
"You won't beat me just by going out of range, because I will still come for you!" Siferas laughed as she readied her two black swords to slash!
With a swift turn, Raynevere managed to block the two swords with her bow. However, Siferas' speed is much superior as Siferas managed to deal with another set of slashes!
"Hraaah!"
"Kyah!" Raynevere cried as she suffered wounds on her arms and legs. She crashed down on the ground, creating a crater and making debris fall around!
"Raynevere!" I cried. Then I drew out one of my Command Cards! "Activate Skill Card: Heal!"
Greenlight basked upon Raynevere's body, and all her wounds are no more. Even the Striker Wing that was bent because of the crash was straightened like new!
However, Siferas did not want to give us breathing space! She dived towards the ground, ready to make a cross-slash Raynevere with her two swords! She's keeping up the pressure!
Since Siferas is always going for short-range, we should fight with short-range too! It might be a good time to unleash the Ultra Rare Command Card that the champion themselves gave us!
"Activate Skill Card: Combo Sword!" I raised the Command Card!
At that instance, a white sword materialized from Raynevere's right hand. Her purple eyes locked upon the enemy's gray eyes, trying to anticipate the exact split second of the point of impact! When the distance is just right, Raynevere swung her sword!
"Hiya!"
It was a swift and perfectly-timed swing! However, Nigel was able to counter us in the nick of time!
"Activate Skill Card: Auto Dodge!"
Time stopped in our perception for a brief moment. Nobody was able to move, except for Siferas who is slowly evading the Combo Sword's trajectory. She grabbed Raynevere's wrist and then slammed her to the ground!
"Gyaaah!" Raynevere cried. At that moment, the Combo Sword disintegrated into clouds of dust.
"Darn it! Almost got her!" I cried.
I was about to swipe another Heal Command Card for Raynevere, but then I noticed that the Gladiatrix with silver hair is rushing to me! Oh no! Not again!
"Hyah!" Siferas roared as she went straight to me with a high jump kick that was propelled by her jet engine wings!
In the nick of time, Raynevere managed to go between us two. Having no other option but to block, she spread out her limbs so that I will not take much damage!
Siferas' foot hit Raynevere's stomach, and then Raynevere's body flew to me!
"Guh!" Raynevere and I cried as soon as we crashed back to the grassland.
We both ended up rolling in the grass. When the rolling game ended, I lay on the ground while Raynevere sat on my abdomen. Raynevere took all the hits from that Gladiatrix Champion, but I look more beat-up than her. A Gladiatrix's durability is something.
[Battle Ended]
"You two are already improving every hour. I think this is enough for tonight." Siferas said as she approached us with her hands on her hips.
"Owie." Raynevere cried as she held her stomach. That kick must have felt bad, so I immediately activated a Heal Command Card to cure her wounds. "Thanks Mister Elzane! Oh, sorry! I sat on you again!"
"N-No needs to apologize, ma'am," I said to Raynevere with an ecstatic look.
I kind of used to the pain, so I don't mind it. I want her to sit on me again.
"You two are ways before unlocking your Transformation Card, but you two are not far behind Himeno Yuusha. Just a few more pushes and you will be on her level." Nigel said.
"Wait, you know how to unlock the Transformation Card?" I asked.
"Ssssshhhh!" Siferas shushed Nigel aggressively. "That's supposed to be a secret until they are ready!"
"Master Siferas! Master Nigel! Please teach us how to unlock that card!" Raynevere prayed with her puppy eyes.
"Well, you are not ready yet. Maybe after the tournament, when you're already the president of Treenity Innovations?" Siferas said.
I can sense some Ponzi scheme level on this silver-haired hag, but I will not object. It seems that she knows how to unlock a Transformation Card.
I looked at Nigel who seemed to be browsing his hologram Command Cards on his Kaiser Watch. After a few seconds, he showed me a Transformation Card: Cyber Ice Valkyrie. Slowly, he raised the Command Card as if he was going to activate it!
