1 Prologue - A cruel world

In a dimly lit room, a brown-haired youth in casual cloths can be seen sitting on a rolly-chair wearing headphones. The youth has his hair tied in a man bun similar to a freedom seeking depressed man, who later turned into a bird and repeated the words "TATAKAW! TATAKAW!" wherever he went. He drank from a can of Monster as his bright emerald eyes were glued on to the screen of his monitor, anticipating the start of what can be considered the current final boss fight of the game Terraria... or more specifically the Terraria Calamity mod.

As the youth cracked his knuckles to loosen his bones and prepared for the fight, he couldn't help but think to himself, 'Hmm, I wonder what kind of drops I would get from this guy. I mean from what I've heard, he is considered to be the big bad who initiated the downfall of the dragons and the strongest character in Calamity, even stronger than Yharim himself.'

Equipped with Demonshade armor which is the best armor in the game, he activated the Terminus and saw a bright 2-dimensional symbol. The symbol was shaped like somewhat like a chalice, with four spikes shaped evenly on the outside. On the inside, a kunai-like shape could be seen attached to the chalice with what could best be described as shark fins on both sides of the kunai. Upon the appearance of the symbol, a bright light dimmer than the light of the discord light mode shone and a sentence in red text appeared on the screen that read, "Your final test begins." After that, he was transported to a different realm.

"Damn, Dominic must have grinded hard to release something of this quality. The background looks beautiful, but at the same time it's kinda ominous. I haven't even started the fight yet, and I'm already getting goosebumps." As he proceeded towards the right side of the screen, he came upon a tree wreathed in reddish light. The tree was not too big, perhaps only 9-10 feet tall. Looking from below, a few apples could be seen hanging from the branches. They were shaking- no, they were dancing along with the wind, as if they were happy they were finally able to fulfill their purpose.

As he stood under the tree, the light slowly dimmed and was replaced by red waves that covered almost the entire screen and left only a circle around the character. A moment later, the waves went away and in the sky, the chalice-like symbol could be seen tearing through the sky, driving away the stars that littered the night sky. It was as if a void was created but instead of sucking in everything, it instead repelled. Not a moment later, a bright red light cut through the screen and from it, came various bright stars and... galaxies? that littered the background of the screen.

"Not gonna lie, that was kinda cool. Hmm, is that the boss? What the-?!" As the boss appeared, what was on the screen could only be described as the second coming of Omega Flowey. It was as if it did not belong there. It was... everchanging. It did not remain in a single shape. One moment, it had red hands that were pointing to the sides in a salute-like manner and in the next moment, they changed to shiny mechanical hands that were in a lotus pose. The same could be said for its name, wings, antle- wait why the hell does it even have antlers?! Ugh, moving on the only thing that remained constant was what looked like the chalice shape that it seemed to be plastered on and what looked to be like the form of the Christian religious icon, whose form was censored behind a black box. It was... incomprehensible.

The fight was chaotic. That is the only was it could be described. It used all manner of attacks. Whether they be explosions, homing attacks, death rays, or red lances that traveled at unreal speeds in a linear motion; the boss fight had it all. If one attack didn't work, then it would switch onto the next. Sometimes it would even mix things up. Hell, the bastard even brought out a miniature sun, like who does he think he is?! Escanor?! Not only that, shortly after, the sun turned into a black hole! Like, is bro trying the yeet the dimension into oblivion?

Midway through the battle, it changed dimensions and its hands then proceeded to destroy both the Rage and Adrenaline bars, which was the first time something like this happened in Calamity- in Terraria. "Huh, they really aren't holding anything back. Welp, time to bring out the big guns."

Since the boy realized that he couldn't afford to hold anything back, he decided to bring out ONE of the strongest weapons in his arsenal and also one of his personal favorites, the Ultima Thule. This weapon is part of The Stars Above mod, but since the mod scales with Calamity, coupled with mods like Weapon Enchantment and Signature Equipment, it was able to deal out insane damage. Not only that, but the weapon itself looked amazing as it summoned five planets that revolved around the player when held by them.

As the fight progressed, the boss began to dish out even more insane attacks like time reversal, giant knuckle sandwiches, and slashes that cut through reality itself. Though the most ridiculous one seemed to be when he brought out... the Glock. Yes you heard me right, apparently even primordial deities felt the need to practice the second amendment.

The battle was tough. It was hard-fought. The boy came close to dying many times. But in the end, he persevered. And he had passed the test. After that, he was kicked out from his world and back on to the homescreen. He immediately noticed the change. The screen had changed to be similar to the background of the boss fight. In place of the TModLoader title, the same words were written: You have passed the test. The youth couldn't help but sigh and wipe his right hand on his shirt, as it had become sweaty nervousness and gripping the mouse tightly. As he logged back into his world, he immediately noticed the drops he received from the boss.

He received the Diving Wings, which not only had the highest raw speed and acceleration amongst all the wings, but also gave infinite flight time. He also received both the sun and black hole attacks as pets with the former being a light pet, and the latter being a regular one. Other than that, he received the censor box as a face mask, a unique dye, a vanity item that added a special effect to the cursor, and the monolith, which changed the background to the same one that the boss arena had. He also received the lore item, but it seemed to be some kind of poem, so he didn't really understand it.

"Man, that was nerve-wracking. My eyes hurt like a bitch from all of those flashy lights and attack. 10/10 would try again. Welp, it's getting late. Better go to sleep now unless I wanna act like a fucking zombie at 8 in the morning." As the youth went to exit the game, a sudden text popped up on the screen.

"Did you enjoy your experience? How would you rate it?"

He was slightly bewildered by the pop-up, but he didn't pay it much thought and proceeded to answer it. "I'd say the fight was pretty good. Other than the flashy lights which I recommend toning down a little bit, everything else was satisfactory." It was only a second later that another message appeared on the screen.

"I see, then perhaps would you like to try again?" Again, the youth didn't give it any thought and replied back. "Yeah, definitely." Then for the third and final time, a box popped up. It contained one, and only one sentence. "Then, I wish you good luck." As soon as he read the message, a bright light shone from the monitor and covered the entire room, giving the boy enough time to muster out a few scant words.

"Wait, what the fu-!"

------------------------------

"Ugh mom, 5... 5 more minutes..."

In the middle of a forest, a brown-haired youth can be seen laying on the grass. He has wheat colored skin and was wearing a light grey shirt that was covered by a dark colored cloak. Overall, his looks are not anything worth mentioning and his presence was one that wouldn't stick in the mind after a brief glimpse. All around him are tall trees that reached anywhere around 30-40 feet.

"Hey! Just wake up already will ya?!"

Alongside the teen is another presence. He wore blue pants and a jacket that was similar in color to the brown-haired youth. He has brownish-orange hair along with dark grey eyes. He looks to be around the same age as the unconscious teen. Right now, he is trying to wake up the sleeping teen since the area they are in is not safe, especially for the unconscious boy as he was prime meat for the local bandits and any hostile wildlife.

"I swear that if you don't wake up in the next minute, I'm gonna poke you in the ass with a stick!"

"Poke me in the ass wi- Alright! Alright! I'll get up in-?!"

As the teen opens his eyelids, bright emerald-green irises are exposed to the outside world. As he was about to reprimand the one who woke him up from his beauty sleep, he stopped. As he looked around, he couldn't help but be absolutely bewildered, baffled, and most importantly, bamboozled by his surroundings. After all, he remembered that one minute he was at home, in his room, and the next, he was here. But where is here? He was about to freak out, but tried to calm himself as he knew that panicking won't help, and he would only tire himself out. So, he looked to his only source of information.

"Umm, thanks for... not robbing me, even though I'm completely broke." He started with thanking his savior/watcher?, although he mumbled the last part only to himself. "Do you know where we are, and while we are on that topic, who YOU are?"

"Okay, first off, I haven't sank so low that I would try to mug some defenseless man in the middle of a forest. And second, we are near the outskirts of the forest biome. As for the last question, the name's Joe, but you can call me The Guide." The now named Joe answered the baffled youths inquiry as he added on to his previous statement, "Since I have told you my name, it's only fair that you respond in kind."

'Did he just call himself the Guide? Then could I be in... no. Lets not assume anything. Though I just hope that my guess is wrong.' After learning of Joe's title, the boy couldn't help but be nervous. "Yeah, that's my bad. I Should've introduced myself first. I'm Ben Dover."

"Pfft, Bend over? That's your name? Seriously?"

"No! It's Ben Dover! Ben-Dover!"

"Alright man, calm down! I was just messing with you."

"Ugh, not the first time someone made that joke." Although a bit peeved off that the first thing that came to Joe's mind was to make fun of his name, he tried to get back on track and fish for information from Joe. "Anyways, you mentioned a forest biome, what's that about?"

Hearing that, Joe's face couldn't help but morph into confusion as he looked at Ben incredulously. Ben, who lacked knowledge that would be known to even the youngest of toddlers in the most remote villages, knew he goofed up when he spoke of his ignorance regarding his general surroundings. So he tried his best to cover up his mistake.

"Well- uhm- it's just that I can't remember how I ended up here. The only thing I remember is going to sleep in my room. After that I woke up and... well, the rest is history."

After learning of Ben's circumstances, Joe's expression turned to one of sympathy. Feeling bad for judging the boy as some ignorant bumpkin, he tried his best to help Ben out.

"Well, where we currently are is called the forest biome, though most people call it the 'Tyrant's Abode.' The forest is comprised mostly of trees, but in the center of the forest is the tallest mountain in the entire world. Legends say that the mountain was once the home to the dragons, back when they guarded this world. Now it is occupied by the Tyrant."

"Tyrant? Is it some kind of creature?" Wanting to learn more about the mysterious Tyrant and at the same time hoping to prove himself wrong, Ben pressed on as he also noted a key detail. 'Did he just mention dragons? Either the guy is delusional, or I just got isekai'd without even dying from Truck-kun. I mean, come on! Being killed by Truck-kun is pretty much a rite of passage for any self-respecting transmigrator!'

"Yeah, Yharim the Tyrant. Centuries ago, He was the one who waged the war against the gods. One of his most well-known feats is that he commanded Calamitas, the Brimstone Witch to wipe out the kingdom of the Sea King. He was once a hero, a beacon that gave hope to the hopeless, and rose up to fight against the wickedness of the divine. But somewhere along the way, he lost sight of his goal and was led astray by his own strength."

Upon hearing the name of the Tyrant and also one of his ex-followers. The boy only had one thought that dominated his mind.

'Yep, I'm fucked.'
