1 A new dawn

I woke up with a sharp pain in my whole body, I felt disoriented from my surroundings. The room I was in was full of ornaments that looked that were made of gold. The bed felt nice and soft, and as I tried to move my new body I could tell that someone must have been taking care of it since I found myself clean.

Yet, the clothes I am currently using were big or rather I was just too skinny. Not enough weight for a 4-year-old child as I now encounter myself to be.

My red curls were currently braided beautifully, and by the lack of nutrition this body seems to have I would have thought that my hair would look dull, yet my red hair shined beautifully. As if the sickness this body has passed through hasn't even be bothered by it.

Lifeless eyes staring back at me in the mirror, they were beautiful yet creepy as how dull they now looked. It was as if I was staring into the deepest part of the ocean that no human has ever been able to reach. Little by little, as I began to get used to this, they began to get filled with a bit of light.

-CRASH! –

The sudden noise called my attention to the maid who had just accidentally broken a very looking expensive bowl full of water. Her body remained immobile by the open doors, funny enough I was so immersed in me and my new appearance that I didn't even hear her come in. Her knees gave out and now she was in a kneeling position on the floor, crying as if her life depended on it and with eyes full of surprise.

Don't worry girly, I won't ask for compensation for the bowl you just broke.

"T-the young lady! -"

She didn't even finish her sentence as she stood up and ran away somewhere, now the path that led outside of my room was filled with glass and water.

I went to sit on a very expensive-looking couch, I honestly thought it wouldn't be soft as it seemed so expensive but I was wrong. My room was so big that it even had a tea area, and it was full of toys.

The sudden number of steps I started to hear kind of surprised me.

"Adela! Adela!"

My screaming grandfather now was in front of me, his face full of tears and it seemed as if he has aged more.

"G-grandpa."

"Adela…"

That was all I could say to him, my voice was sore from not being used for so long, my grandfather engulfed me in a hug and started to thank the gods for at least letting his granddaughter live.

That's right, my parents and little brother were dead. The memories I was able to acquire about their death through this body were limited. The trauma for this child was so big that being the only sole survivor took a toll on her which led to her death. Due to this, I can't help but think that they were probably murdered.

I can't understand why the gods put me in this child's body, maybe it was the only one available? Still, I will do what I have to do and live whoever I want to live. And when I die here I will finally be able to have my soul back.

Yes, the gods kidnapped my soul because according to them my soul was so clean for a human, even when I was a big successful businesswoman in my world, it seemed that soul was still the purest the gods had seen in a million years. So, they killed me, brought me in front of them, and sent me here without it so they could study it.

You may be thinking, that a baby's soul would be purer. But my soul was even purer and it was weirder since it was an adult who possessed such a clean soul.

I do not understand how am I even alive here without my soul, but I guess a god can do anything. My soul was still somehow connected to me or I wouldn't even be able to use magic here.

Yes, this world was fantasy-like. Just like the stories or anime I used to see back on earth. Still, since the gods kidnapped my soul I asked for stuff in return while I am here. I asked for an online shop, wisdom, and to let me use any kind of magic I want.

Yeah, you could say I am OP, but can you blame me? Imagine getting killed, your soul getting kidnapped by the god's whim, and sent to a world you don't even know of while they investigate your soul out of pure selfishness.

Yeah, you would do the same huh? Ah, maybe ask for more? I should have asked for more right... they didn't even apologize! Selfish bitches.

"Baby, do you want to eat something? Some soup?"

Ah, I forgot they were still here. I nod at my grandpa, it still hurts to speak so maybe a soup will do me well.

"Prepare some porridge immediately!" He screams and all the servants nod their heads with hope and happiness in their eyes.

"A yummy porridge will do you well baby." He says while his nose starts to leak since he can't stop crying. I grab the hem of my sleeves to clean his face. He looks ugly, he is an ugly crier. I hope I don't look like that whenever I cry here.

"N-no crying, g-grandpa." I tried to reassure him a little a bit so he stops crying but he instead started to cry harder than before.

.

.

.

The porridge was very nice, it felt pleasing on my empty stomach and it did help my throat. Now, I am wearing another set of nightgowns as the other one was full of snot and my room now has an office area where my grandpa now uses to work and keep an eye on me. Is he afraid of me falling ill again?

He works hard and fast, stealing some glances to my bed and sometimes even standing up to go check on me if I am still breathing. The doctor will arrive in a week probably, and the maids always enter silently to come to check on me and they always leave crying with happiness.

The doctor had just left a few days ago to search for a cure for me. I can't imagine how surprised he or she must have been when they received a falcon of my miraculous recovery. Yeah, they use falcons here. Kind of silly for a world with magic huh? Still, a bit cool... a falcon for letters... hmm.

My grandfather, still crying, has a smile on his face. This child was supposed to be a candidate for the heir position. And now will be the only one as her brother is dead. It doesn't matter if you are older or younger, you get to try to be the head of the family. Also, your gender doesn't matter in these cases. Still, I had decided that while staying here I will live this life as my own.

Now I am focusing on recovering so that I could at least explore this house, that honestly just by looking through the window I could say that it was more of a castle.

The window view was nothing to laugh at, the scenery was beautiful and I could tell that they worked hard on it. Maybe with the hope that this child's trauma is a bit lesser.

I don't blame them; this world may be full of magic but it doesn't change the fact that it looked as it was in the middle ages. No electricity insight and they used candles as a source of light with the difference that they will light it up with a bit of magic of course.

I wanted to see the 'online shop' I asked for, I said to the gods that I wanted to be able to buy stuff from the earth for my commodity here. Thank Jesus I asked for it, I am pretty sure that here they probably don't even know about soap. But my grandfather doesn't leave me alone until the doctor reassures him completely.

I also want to go and read about the kind of magic is used here, I have a vague idea of it already but I want to make sure of it.

Still, I want my soul back, damn. I never thought I would miss it. I mean, it's mine right. Even if they are gods they shouldn't be able to take it away just like that right? Also, killing me just to see it more closely?

Just, give it back! You selfish gods!
