WAITING FOR THE BEST DECISION

"Since childhood until now, you have never troubled us as your parents, dear. You are a smart child and obedient in worship. Your heart is clean, Gita. Your father and I always believe that you can think clearly in this matter."

"Come on, let's go out now!" Mrs. Laila asked Gita.

No wonder now Mr. Hasan and Mrs. Laila give Gita a choice and not a ban. Since Gita started school, Gita has never once troubled her parents in terms of lessons or behavior, except for her rude attitude which was sometimes a bit outrageous to her schoolmates.

"Maybe you don't know that Gita often tells me that many of her male friends want to try to have a relationship with her but Gita doesn't want to. From there, I was determined that I could take care of Gita and not let other people get in the way as a decent man with Gita later," continued Barra.

"For now I can't make up my mind on your proposal, Barra. Let us discuss this first!" continued Mr. Hasan talking to Barra.

Still in the same room, but Gita and Barra are already out on the terrace letting the Gita family discuss.

Inside, Mrs. Laila told what the Gita had told her.

"Dad, I hope you will make wise decisions. Gita is still a teenager, her future is still long and she has dreams to pursue. Are you willing that the only daughter in our family cannot achieve her goals and can only become an ordinary housewife at home because Gita married young?" Ganesha gives his opinion.

"They don't want to have an early marriage, Ganesha. How about this. We'll accept Barra's intentions but on condition…"

"There was no marriage before Gita graduated from high school. For now, let's get engaged first to maintain the views of society and family. And if the time comes after Gita finishes high school, if they decide to get married, that decision will be our discussion later!" Mr. Hasan concludes.

"Gita can continue her studies with a married status and we will not worry about keeping Gita's association because she is already married. What do you think?" continued Mr. Hasan asking his wife's opinion.

"I think it's a good decision, for now, my husband. It's also impossible for them to be separated because they already like each other. Barra and Gita are good children, I can't bear to hurt their feelings."

"Besides, I believe that they won't do anything forbidden. Maybe God had written Gita's soul mate who came so quickly that they were brought together to be together. We as parents can only wish the best for our children to be happy!" said Mrs. Laila with a smile.

"But I ask that there are no applications before Gita graduates from this junior high school. I want Gita to be able to buy time with a lot of consideration!" Ganesha gives his opinion.

"Bro Barra, now what should we do? I'm confused," Gita asked confused.

"We don't have to do anything else. I have already conveyed everything to my parents and your family. Just pray that what we are doing is right and ask God to make things easier!" Barra encouraged Gita.

"Our relationship is very vulnerable and has many gaps, Gita. It's easy to break up, especially when discussing your age. So, if we are allowed to have this relationship, then God will close the gap in this relationship."

"Stay confident and ask for the best. Whatever happens, I will still love you," Barra strengthened Gita who had been crying silently.

No one noticed that there were tears at the corner of Barra's eyes. But Barra didn't show it so as not to make Gita sadder.

'I'm not afraid of rejection or anything, but what scares me is when I can no longer see Gita this close if everyone is against this relationship…' Barra muttered in his heart.

When Barra wanted to wipe his tears that came out, from the front door, Mr. Hasan called the two of them back to the family room.

"Barra, we've decided between Gita's parents," Mr. Hasan paused for a moment.

Barra's face was tense as if waiting for the results of passing the National Examination. Barra's breath caught. From the gap in Barra's hair, cold sweat flowed which could not hide his nervousness.

"We accept your proposal tonight for Gita," continued Mr. Hasan.

"Alhamdulillah, O Allah..." while rubbing his face with both palms he thanked slowly. Then Barra immediately turned to Gita who was sitting next to Mrs. Laila.

Their eyes met and they smiled at each other in relief.

"But, the proposal shouldn't happen anytime soon!" This one sentence managed to make their eyes cut off and both turned to Mr. Hasan.

"We decided to approve your relationship but on condition that the marriage will take place after Gita finishes school at least after graduating from high school later. After spending that period you can decide on the next step," explained Mr. Hasan again.

"If at that time Gita wanted to continue studying, I would be calmer because you were by her side. Do you understand, Barra?" Mr. Hasan asked.

"I see, Dad. Then what are the conditions?" Barra asked.

"The next condition is you must be able to make our beloved daughter happy. And you must always maintain your attitude and behavior! I believe in you, son!"

"After Gita graduates Middle School later, you can negotiate your proposal for Gita with your family again!" Mr. Hasan spoke again.

"Okay, Dad… I will do everything you tell me. Thank you for blessing my feelings for Gita, Dad, Mom, and Ganesha. I am so grateful to have met this good family!" said Barra gratefully.

"Barra, please take care of Gita. Gita is my beloved sister, indeed I can't often accompany and take care of her. But I hope that Gita can be happy with her dreams with you by her side. Don't disappoint me, Barra!" while patting Barra's back, Ganesha smiles.

He felt relieved and light when the big rock that was on top of his body was lifted. Barra is very happy right now. His love was reciprocated, he also received the blessing of his parents, although with many conditions.

Barra came home happy to break the news to her father. The father had given up and was more receptive when Barra explained in detail the reason Mr. Hasan accepted the proposal for his son, even though the blessing given by them had conditions that Barra had to accept.

Likewise, with his family's response, which initially strongly refused until now after being explained again, they finally accepted, although they were still heavy-hearted.

Barra is a tough but mature man, even though his decision is considered very arbitrary and rash, but Barra doesn't care as long as he feels what he thinks is right and does not harm others.
