CHAPTER 11

Alina stared at him still confused on how he read through all her thoughts.

"Are you a psychic or what?" Alina asked as she stopped coughing.

Nolan chuckled and stared at her with sparkles in his eyes.

Alina felt like an arrow of affection was threw directly into her heart.

Did he just smile at me? Why on earth will he put on such a smile? Alina questioned in her head.

"I don't read minds but the expression on your face says it all. The expression you had on your face when you said thank you, made a statement like JUST HAMBURGERS, WHY WOULD HE GET ME JUST A HAMBURGER AS BREAKFAST" Nolan said in a mimicking tone and Alina couldn't help it but boost into laughter.

"I had no idea you could crack jokes as well" Alina laughed.

"I guess that's why you always put on your mask because you're scared people might fall for your smile. Have a bite before judging me" Nolan said jovially and Alina's smile slowly went off.

"Thank you" Alina said as she felt a bit awkward because of Nolan's statement. She had a deep bite on the hamburger and her eyes widened in shock.

"It's so delicious. Were there such sort of delicious hamburgers?" Alina asked with her eyes fixed on the hamburgers.

"From now on, you won't miss this out. You're welcome to always patronise them" Nolan said with a half smile.

"It might sound weird or awkward coming from me but I've never seen you smile before. You're suddenly being nice to me and for no reason it feels like we've been friends for long" Alina said slowly chewing on her burger.

"Sorry, I don't make friends with ladies" Nolan said without looking at her.

"Then why are you being nice to me? Is it because you've found out about my illness? Do you find me weak now? You don't find me threatening anymore?" Alina asked as she placed the hamburger on the bench.

"Don't get my intentions misunderstood. I'm not friends with you and I don't plan on being one. I'm only being nice to you because you're emotional down and you need some boosting of spirit. As a doctor, that's my duty to make you feel better after an attack. I would do this for any other person I see going through what you're went through" Nolan said calmly.

"Oh I see, so it's all act of pity. Well, it's nothing for you to worry about. I'm fine now and I never said I wanted to be friends with you either professor. Thanks for the breakfast, I will head back home now. My dad must be getting worried" Alina said seriously then stood up swiftly.

"Alina, what's wrong?" Nolan asked and Alina glared at him.

"It's nurse Alina, let's not drop the formalities professor. We're not friends or acquaintances so let's not address each other with our real names. Bye" Alina said and walked away but she suddenly walked back to where Nolan was.

"I don't really get you. Are you upset about something?" Nolan asked and Alina grabbed the hamburger on the bench as she glared at him.

"My dad always said, I should never waste food" Alina said then left.

Nolan looked around still dumbfounded on Alina's attitude.

"Why are ladies so full of attitude and damn twisted? Why's she suddenly so upset?" Nolan gasped out obviously confused and he continued eating his hamburger.

SAM'S BOUTIQUE....

Sam was attending to some customers when his landlord's secretary walked into the place.

"Ma'am, I had no idea you wanted a different size" Sam said to a customer politely.

"Hello everyone, please who's the owner of this place?" The landlord's secretary asked and Sam came out.

He went out with the secretary and found the landlord looking around the neighborhood.

The landlord was putting on a hoodie and a pair of jeans with a face cap as well.

"Greetings landlord" Sam greeted and the landlord turned to him.

The landlord is in his early thirties with a very handsome face. He got the looks and height and approaching manner as well, he stands out among all the landlords in the area and he happens to be the youngest among all. His name is Falcon Bong.

"Oh greetings Sam. Congratulations on my path, I heard your daughter got accepted in one of the biggest hospitals here in Seoul" Falcon said with a smile and Sam wore an awkward smile.

"What's wrong Sam?" Falcon asked.

"My daughter got accepted like eight months ago" Sam said with a silly laugh and Falcon and he secretary joined the silly laughter.

"Sorry my bad. Well, I couldn't visit for long so that why I lost track of time but how's business going? You're not having any complaints about the building and security right?" Falcon asked curiously.

"Not at all landlord but why brings you here out of the blue? You must be so busy and yet you visited"

"Well, I heard some sort of silly rumors about this area and it got me really concerned. I had no choice but to drop by. After all, my tenants live here and I can't turn a blind eye to what's going on. Wait a minute Sam, you've got something on your collar" Falcon said then walked closer to Sam.

Alina walked down to the shop just in case Sam left home already and she saw someone holding Sam's collar.

"What a brat! How dare him hold an elderly man's collar like that" Alina uttered with a frown and she ran down to her father and pushed Falcon away.

"You jerk! How dare you hold my father's collar like that? Do you wish to die?" Alina yelled as she dressed Sam's collar properly and she slapped Falcon with her hair as she turned around.

"Boss!" Falcon's secretary called out in shock as he rushed to him.

Falcon completely lost himself on seeing Alina and a smile appeared on his face.

"What the nerve you've got to smile like that after what you've done" Alina yelled about to bounce on him but Sam held her tight.

"I'm so sorry landlord. I apologize on behalf of my daughter" Sam apologized with a bow and her eyes widened in shock.

"Landlord!" She gasped in shock and Falcon smiled even more.

"Secretary Park, I think I've found my wife" Falcon whispered completely mesmerized and his secretary looked at him in shock.

Minutes later, they were all seated at the visiting quarters in the boutique.

"I'm sorry landlord, I had no idea" Alina apologized with her face down.

In times like this, I shouldn't reveal my face. Why on earth did I leave home without it? I feel so insecure. Alina said anxiously in her head.

"It's okay. Anyone would have misunderstood the situation as well. I guess the position made it even more complicated" Falcon said calmly and Alina nodded.

"Sam, I had no idea you had a daughter?" Falcon threw in and Sam looked at him with a confused look on his face sane with secretary Park.

"But you congratulated her few minutes ago" secretary Park cut in and Falcon glared at him.

"Sorry to ask Mr landlord but how did you manage to own such a huge estate at your young age? Is it perhaps inherited?" Alina asked out of the blue, covering her face with her hair.

"It's profitable to make money at a young age and that's why I didn't go to college" Falcon said politely and Alina's hands that were holding her hair dropped.

"You didn't go to....." Alina couldn't complete her statement when a call came in through her phone.

"Excuse me, I have to take this call" Alina said and walked to the side before taking the call.

"Nurse Alina, we've got an emergency at the hospital and you're needed here. That's the instructions of professor Nolan" The nurse at the other end said across the phone immediately Alina took the call.

"Today's supposed to be weekend and we've got backup nurses for all the emergencies during weekends so why did the professor ask for me?" Alina asked seriously.

"If I had known that would be the first thing I will say to you before relaying his message so rush over immediately" The nurse said and hung up.

Alina walked back to where her dad was sitting.

"Dad, I have to rush down to the hospital right now. They've been some sort of emergency" Alina informed.

"Alright Alina, go ahead and don't stay out for too long okay" Sam instructed and Alina dashed out already but Falcon followed.

"Let me drop you off. It might be quite difficult to get a taxi immediately so let me drop you off" Falcon said softly and Alina nodded to him without even hesitating.

They both got into his car and drove down to Margolis hospital without starting up any conversation on the way.

"I'm sorry landlord, I must have bore you in the car but I'm usually not like that. I'm only tensed up and that's why. I'm sorry about earlier at the boutique as well. Bye" Alina said and ran into the hospital then grabbed a nose make from the receptionist nurses table without anyone's notice.

She put it on and ran to her locker to get changed.

"They all got into a bus accident. Luckily, those with fractures have been attended to by professor Nolan" A nurse explained to Alina and she nodded.

If he took care of that then did he bother asking me to be here. Alina uttered sarcastically in her head as she checked up on the patients at the ward one after the other.

Nolan sighted Alina from afar and he smiled secretly.

She really came. She takes her work diligently. Nolan said in his head with a smile.

He head towards her and suddenly he saw Falcon asking around for Alina.

"Please where can I find nurse Alina?" Falcon asked and a nurse pointed at the ward.

"Thank you" Falcon said politely and head to the emergency ward.

Nolan wore a curious look on his face and he went closer to Alina.

Alina looked at him and rolled her eyes then walked away.

Nolan's eyes widened a bit shocked at Alina's attitude towards him.

"Landlord!" Alina called out on seeing Falcon.

And he waved at her.Alina walked to him.

"Landlord, you only dropped me off minutes ago. Is everything okay?" Alina asked curiously.

"Here, you forgot your phone in my car" Falcon said with a smile and Alina touched her pocket just to confirm his words.

"I'm sorry for stressing you out. You must have gotten home when you found out. I'm sorry and thank you" Alina said politely as she took the phone.

"Nurse Alina, sure does know how to mingle with beauties. He looks quite familiar. I think I've seen him on TV before" Some doctors mumbled to themselves and Nolan heard of it.

He tried to wave the thought but he suddenly felt unease seeing how welcoming Alina was to Falcon.

"You look even more beautiful in your mask and uniform on" Falcon complimented and Alina couldn't help it but smile at his honest compliment.

What's so amusing? It's so obvious that's she's smiling right now. Her eyes can't even tell a lie. Nolan said in his head glaring at the both of them from where he was standing.

Aria stood outside the Margolis hospital as she looked around in a drunken state.

"Aria, how did you end up being so drunk? I was right there with you but how did this happen?" Jimmy asked as he tried to hold her so she doesn't fall.

"Leave me alone. I can stand on my own" Aria said drunkenly.

"What happened there? Did someone provoke you at the company gathering? Even though someone did, we can't be here right now Aria. Someone might see you in this state and that's not good for your image. We have to go back Aria" Jimmy asked and Aria nodded negatively.

"I'm not leaving till I meet with Alina. Alina is upset and I'm not leaving until I meet with her" Aria said drunkenly as she staggered.

"How can you talk to someone in this state of yours. Let's go home Aria" Jimmy said and held Aria's hand but she shoved him off.

"Alina!" Aria screamed out of the blue and it dragged people's attention.

"Isn't that Aria?" Some people mumbled to themselves as they tried to get a closer look but someone carried Aria away.
