My jaw drops to the floor as I listen to Gael make a speech about being the new shareholder of KMH, buying out all of Mr. Morgan's shares from the company. I never heard anything about Mr. Morgan planning to sell his shares. Beside me, Keith is simmering in anger. He has turned red, his muscles all stiff and tense.

I look over at the stage again, my focus shifting to Giovanni who is casually standing next to the podium, beside a beautiful woman. As if he feels eyes on him, his stare shifts to me and a lazy, mocking smirk casts on his face, effectively sending shivers down my spine. I don't hear anything about the conference anymore. I can't take my eyes off Giovanni and his taunting stare.

My heart races so fast, I feel its beating in my ear. I sense movement next to me and when I turn, Keith is glowering at me. He opens his mouth as if to say something but instead, he brushes past me, walking away from the crowd and toward the elevators.
