1 Gift

You and Katsuki Bakugou have been dating since UA High School. After the two of you graduated with the rest of your classmates, you opened your own Hero agency together and got married. You wanted to have kids, you later found out that you both were unable to have any. The news was very upsetting. Katsuki pretended like he wasn't bothered by it, but he was actually equally as devastated as you were. As time passed, you never brought up the topic again and the idea of having kids was long forgotten.

Until that faithful day...

"Katsuki, can we get some groceries?" You asked your husband as you walked home together from your agency. "There's some stuff I want to get and I'm also out of face wash."

"Sure." Katsuki replied nonchalantly. "I think we ran out of dish washing soap, too."

When the two of you stopped at a crosswalk, a woman suddenly bumps into you and there was a puff of smoke.

"Ah- Oh no...!" The woman stammered out in embarrassment. "What am I going to do... I-I'm so sorry..! I wasn't looking at where I was going...!"

You were about to reassure the stranger that it was okay and no harm was done, but you and Katsuki noticed the kids that just appeared out of thin air. What surprised you the most was that these kids looked just like you and Katsuki. The woman panicked even more at the site of them.

"Argh!! I'm so screwed! For now, can the both of you follow me to the hospital first!?"

You were so confused about what just happened. However, in order to get the answers you need, you and your husband decided to follow the woman to the hospital with the mysterious children.

At the hospital, it's revealed that those kids were manifested because of the woman's Quirk. She bowed deeply and continued to apologize.

"So..." You began as you processed the situation. "Those "kids"... are the result of your Quirk?"

The woman stops bowing. "Yes I- Ah! I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Gift. My Quirk is called Fertility and I am a researcher and physician in this field." Gift then looked at you and Katsuki in recognition. "Uh... You two are... Pro Heroes Ground Zero and (Hero Name), right?"

"Yeah. She's my wife." Katsuki replied, still irritated by the situation.

"R-Right! Of course! Now, as you can see, my Quirk can create children between two people with strong feelings towards each other. Because the children created don't need a female to give birth to them, I use it to help infertile couples and same sex couples who want children of their own... But because I wasn't paying attention, the children created this time are older than they normally would be... I'm guessing they're around 4 and 6 years old respectively..."

"I don't care about that!" Katsuki yells, making Gift flinch. "More importantly, tell me when does the effect of your Quirk disappear...!?"

"W-Well, if you decide that you don't want children, they'll disappear in a month or so... It's just that if you give the children created from my Quirk names, they would become real children with real lives, and continue to exist. If you want the children from my Quirk to disappear, you must not give them names. Oh- It doesn't count if they're nicknames...." Gift laughs nervously.

As Katsuki got up from his seat, the kids entered the room.

"Mummy~ I'm hungry! Can we go yet?" The little girl whines. However, the girl didn't say it to you, she was talking to Katsuki.

"Don't you call me mummy!!!" Katsuki shouts as you suppressed your giggling.

At home, you and Katsuki had a discussion about what the two of you were going to do for this one month. You decided not to tell your parents about this, and since there's no big upcoming missions in either of your schedules, it should be fine for you and your husband to take turns looking after the kids.

"Okay, Katsuki. I'll be leaving now." You said as you slung your bag onto your shoulders. "Are you sure you're fine taking care of them by yourself...?"

"Hah?" Katsuki replied in a disgruntled tone. "Don't underestimate me! It's a piece of cake for me to handle 2 measly brats!"

Honestly, you're not surprised that that was his response.

"(Y/n), where are you going!?" The boy questioned as he ran up to you.

You smiled down at him. "I'm going to work now~"

The boy clung to your sleeve with sparkling eyes. "I want to go, too!!"

"You're. Staying. At. Home. With. Me!" Katsuki snapped and the boy sadly let go of you.

"I'll be back as soon as possible...." You kissed Katsuki on the cheek and kissed the boy on the forehead before saying goodbye to them and left for your Pro Hero job.

"Eh!? (Y/n)'s on TV!" The boy exclaimed when he saw you on TV in an interview. "(Y/n) is a Pro Hero?!"

"Yup." Katsuki replied.

"That's so awesome!!!"

Katsuki smiled at the boy who was starting to look up to you. The boy reminded Katsuki of himself when he was little and looked up to All Might. His calm smiling face turned into frustration when the girl spilled her drink on the table.

When you returned home, it was late and you thought the kids have already gone to sleep.

"Ka-"

"I DON'T WAANNAAAAAAAA!!!!"

You jumped when you heard one of the kids yelling. You quickly put on your slippers and ran to the room where Katsuki and the kids were in. When you entered the room, you saw the kids wide awake and yelling that they didn't want to go to sleep. What baffled you more was Katsuki. He looked so pitiful... and he was crying...

"... I'm home, Katsuki." You hesitantly said.

Your husband turned his head to look at you and relief was shown on his face. ".....(Y/n)?"

"Ka... Katsuki, you haven't had your dinner yet, right!? You go on ahead and I'll  put the kids to sleep!!"

"...right..." Katsuki pulled himself out of the bed and away from the kids' grasp.

After you finally put the kids to bed, you went to the living room to check on Katsuki.

"So, uh, Katsuki, you doing okay?" You asked in hesitation as you sat down next to him on the couch.

"(Y/n)... I.. I don't want to be with them one second longer than I have to... I'll die...!!!" He quietly says before plopping his head down on your lap for comfort.

You were completely worried and dumbfounded by the emotional state your husband was in. Katsuki always showed his vulnerable side to you only, but did those kids break his spirit!?!?

The next day, Katsuki was back to his usual self. Thank God. Luckily for him, today was your turn to take care of the kids.

"Katsuki... I want huggie..." The girl in your arms asked Katsuki with a pleading look.

Katsuki stared at her for a bit before giving her an irritated response. "No Fuckin' Way!"

Katsuki slams the door on his way out and the girl starts to cry. Your guess is that he might still be upset about yesterday.

"UWAAAHH!! Katsuki's gotten mad!!" The girl cried.

"No sweetie, don't worry about him." You reassured. "Katsuki is just tired. There, there. Be a good girl~"

"What... hic! What should I do to make Katsuki... hic! Not mad at me...?"

You gave the girl a pitied look. Then, an idea came to you.

"Aha! I got it!" You put the girl down next to her brother. "Later on, how about we all make pancakes together! Including Katsuki's share. We can give that to him as an apology! I'm sure Katsuki would appreciate it!"

The kids cheered up after hearing your idea and smiled. "Yeah!!"

In the evening, you and the kids made pancakes using boxed pancake mix. You burnt it a little, but after using chocolate sauce to make a pattern like Katsuki's gauntlets, it looked cute.

At the exact moment, Katsuki returned. The kids eagerly dragged your husband to the kitchen.

"... What's that?" Katsuki asks as he looked at the pancake strangely.

"It's chocolate sauce, like the pattern on your hero outfit gauntlets." You replied.

"I did it! I was the one who drew it!" The boy adds happily.

"Yours is still better than (Y/n)'s sorry attempts." Katsuki smugly remarked as you glared at him and the boy laughed.

"Katsuki, I'm sorry.." The girl apologized sadly. "I promise I'll be careful not to spill the milk or juice or water again...."

"Me too..." The boy lowered his head apologetically. "I promise I won't jump on the sofa again.... or roll around in bed refusing to sleep...."

"And during bedtime, we promise we'll be good.....!" The kids say together.

Katsuki looked at the kids, then he sighed and took a bite of the pancake.

"Well, it doesn't taste too bad.... But listen here kids, what (Y/n) taught you guys to make weren't pancakes." You and the kids were shocked by Katsuki's words as he got up from his seat and rolled up his sleeves. "It's just fried pre-made pancake batter. I'll make you guys some real pancakes."

True to his word, Katsuki made pancakes that didn't require the pre-made pancake mix. You hate to admit it, but his pancakes tasted way better than the ones you made, and the kids agreed. The kids were a complete handful, but it felt nice to have them around. After one month, they'll be gone, but... do you really want them to disappear from you and Katsuki's life without even thinking about it?
