29 Chapter 28:Wolves Vs James, Laurent and Victoria.
When James, Laurent, and Victoria were about to attack the house, they heard a series of howls from behind them in the forest. More than 10 wolves were running towards them in a formation.
"What are dogs doing here?" Victoria said with disdain, looking at the wolves.
"Shoo... shoo..." Laurent mocked the wolves, treating them like street dogs.
All three of them started to laugh loudly, passing mocking comments as they moved around.
The wolves noticed the mockery in the vampires' tone and started to lose their patience, getting ready to attack.
Even though vampires are stronger than wolves, the venom of the wolves is very deadly for the cold ones.
"Let's teach these dogs who they've messed with!" James exclaimed, cracking his knuckles with a wide grin.
One of the wolves launched towards James, who punched it, sending the wolf crashing into the forest.
When one wolf was attacked, the other wolves also launched attacks on the three vampires.
In this fight, the three vampires had the upper hand, but they couldn't kill the wolves because whenever they tried to kill one, the others would launch simultaneous attacks from any direction, causing their patience to wane.
While the fight was going on, they heard howling sounds coming from deep inside the forest.
"Shit, let's retreat. More are coming," Laurent, who noticed the howls, suggested to James, who looked annoyed by the wolves.
"James, let's retreat for now," Victoria added, noticing James' displeasure, trying to stop him from making any foolish decisions.
The three of them started to run in the opposite direction, deep into the forest, at high speed.
The wolves didn't follow them because they didn't have any energy left. When the reinforcements arrived, they saw the condition their fellow clan members were in.
The wolves transformed back into their human forms and carried the injured for medical attention while informing the reinforcements about the direction the vampires had fled.
The reinforcements chased in the direction to search for the vampires that fled.
Some time ago...
Quileute tribe settlement...
The elders, tribe leader, and other important members of the tribe were discussing the unknown vampires that attacked and killed a teenage girl.
While discussing suitable plans to catch the vampires, the door to the meeting hall was slammed open, and a young man came running towards the tribe leader.
"Leader, we have... a... problem," the young man said, gasping for breath due to running at full speed.
"What happened?" Sam asked him, narrowing his eyes.
"As you ordered, we were standing near the house you told us to protect, but during our patrol, we found three vampires staring at the house ferociously. The patrol leader ordered me to inform you about this," the young man explained to Sam with a serious face.
"That's not good. We need to hurry," Billy, who overheard the young man, said with a sigh.
"Father, allow me. I will teach those bloodsuckers a lesson. Don't mess with us," Jacob, holding onto Billy's wheelchair from behind, said with disdain on his face.
When the reinforcement of ten, along with Sam and Jacob, arrived at the location the young man mentioned, they saw their tribe members heavily injured.
"They need medical attention," Sam said, pointing his finger at the injured ones. A few members took them away before anything serious happened.
"Sam... they went in that direction," the leader of the patrol group pointed in the direction the vampires fled.
Sam and the others headed in that direction, running at full speed in their wolf forms, to catch the unknown vampires.
Derry...
Jojo and the others went to a small hotel to book rooms and waited for the sun to settle before taking action.
Jojo was in theroom he had booked for himself with Alice and Rosalie, who refused to leave his side since the incident in the garage.
"Aren't you guys going to your room?" Jojo asked while enjoying the soft sensation of Alice on his lap and Rosalie tightly pressing against him.
"Why do you want me to get up from your lap?" Alice asked, raising an eyebrow.
Jojo was in a trance of bliss with Alice sitting on his lap and Rosalie clinging to him, placing her head on his shoulder.
When he heard Alice's question, he responded, "No, no, you can stay right where you are."
Henry's house...
Henry was looking at his father who had taken his police car for work. He sighed as his father left. He came down to the hall, sat on the couch, and turned on the TV to watch a program.
After some time, Vic Criss, who was second in command of Henry's group, visited him. Henry and Vic chatted for a while, and when Henry moved to give his friend a sitting space, he sat on something.
When he looked, it was his dad's department gun. His father had forgotten the gun and left for work.
Henry took the gun and started to play with it while chatting with Vic. Suddenly, they heard the sound of a cat.
"Meow... meow..."
When Henry turned his head, he saw a grey street cat sitting near the bin opposite the house.
Upon seeing the cat, Henry got a horrible idea and started to smile manically.
He asked Vic to capture the cat for him to practice shooting with his father's gun.
After some time, Vic cautiously captured the cat and placed it on top of the bin. When he released his hand, the cat once again ran away from Vic.
Vic caught the cat again and placed it on the bin.
"Don't let it go," Henry ordered Vic, pointing the gun at the cat.
Henry closed one of his eyes, took a deep breath, and aimed the gun towards the cat.
While this commotion was going on, a police car slowly parked in front of the house.
It was Henry's father. When he saw Henry trying to shoot a street cat, his face turned solemn, and he fumed with anger.
He approached Henry from behind, who was still immersed in aiming at the cat.
"Cough... cough..."
