31 - Second pt.1

Jack followed Adam to the basement curious about what the combination of the EM pump and basement will do.

Adam made his way to the basement and put the EM pump near the center of the room and activated it.

Then he took out his SLS and started sweeping the area with it.

While he did his sweep Jack wanted to try and see how the combination works and if it will decrease his energy usage even more.

'I have 31 energy right now...'

'Maybe I should talk and see how much energy it costs me to test it out.' Jack thought and then proceeded to carry out his test.

But he decided he should at least use it for the experience if he was going to do it so he walked over to Adam and whispered in his ear.

"Adam."

Adam's face whitened and he leaped forward away from where he just was and looked back while pointing his camera so he could see in the dark but didn't see anyone or thing.

He even felt the breath of the voice next to his ear.

"Holy shit!" Adam exclaimed and then Jack decided to see how much energy it would cost to use the SLS.

So he appeared using the SLS and spent as little energy as possible.

Meanwhile Adam saw the figure appear and it stood then without moving with its hand looking like it was on its chin for about 10 seconds.

'It looks like no matter what I have to spend at least 1 energy.'

'And apparently, energy doesn't do decimals, if I even have to spend .01 more energy it will round that up to 2 and the rest would be used to extend the time it looks like.'

Jack thought while he checked his energy again and wanted to do another test with touching now.

He walked to Adam who looked fearful and nervous and decided to mess with him by slapping his butt.

Adam flinched when he felt his butt get slapped and then he started to frantically run to the stairs in fright.

" ZACH!!! I don't know if I can do this!" Adam screamed as he ran up the stairs and almost tripped a couple of times.

Jack who was distracted by his energy saw him run but didn't think much of it until he heard the front door open and slam shut.

'I hope he comes back, it would be a shame if he was too scared." Jack is kind of disappointed this is all it took for him to run.

He seemed fine with Zach but all Jack did was whisper in his ear and slap him while he was alone and he scrambled out of there.

'Maybe he's tough with others but alone he's more vulnerable.'

'And/or maybe being touched by something he can't see really gets to him... he didn't seem to like that much even with Zach up there.'

'Whatever worse case he doesn't come back to investigate, at least he left this pump here.'

'It looks like the area effect is prioritized and then the equipment effect is next'

Jack thought when he looked at his energy.

He decided to wait to see if he comes back, if he doesn't he was going to throw some things around so it can be caught on camera for some more experience.

After all, when he checked his system after that he saw a nice increase from Adam just now.

Zach saw Adam freak out on the camera and he barely heard a voice but couldn't make out what they were saying and he couldn't tell if it was Adam or not.

He's pretty sure it wasn't Adam because he spoke right after and it was much clearer than the other voice.

Then he watched Adam flinch and then he started running to the stairs and almost tripped in the dark while going up them and yelling at Zach.

" ZACH!!! I don't know if I can do this!" Adams's voice came through the camera feed.

Zach seeing this got up and hurried out of the nerve center to the front door and met Adam halfway.

"What the hell happened?"

"Are you trying to become a laughingstock?" Zach reprimanded him for running out of the house when his shift just started.

"I heard someone call my name, and then I got slapped on my ass!!" Adam said while trying to catch his breath with his hand on his knees.

"You know I don't like being touched dude." Adam complained.

"Get your ass back in there and stop being a baby."

"From what we've gathered it won't hurt you but it sure as hell is going to keep touching you now that it knows you're afraid of that."

Zach warned him while thinking of how mischievous this spirit is, it will certainly mess with him more now with such a reaction.

Adam's face whitened more when he heard that, he hesitated a bit before Zach gave him a look before he gathered his courage and turned around to go back in.

Zach seeing him go back inside went to check the forums and as he thought Adam became a laughing stock for running out of the house like that, although it's not like it was a first for someone to run out of a location for them.

When Jack was waiting he heard someone enter the house and start coming down to the basement very slowly.

He watched Adam come back down the stairs before saying,

"I'm sorry I ran, I just don't like being touched."

"Please don't touch me again." Adam begged.

'Oh hell no, you gave me so much experience, I'm going to milk you dry.'

'But not yet...'

'You need to relax a little so that it's much more frightening.' Jack sinisterly smiled as he decided to wait for his next energy recharge before doing it.

Unfortunately, that meant waiting an hour, and Adam who came back asked questions and when he didn't get anything he moved the Pump around the house trying to get more evidence but got nothing.

He was getting pretty bored and relaxed when his shift was half over when Jack made his move.
