18 - T.V

Later that day in the evening Jack heard the door open and he quickly turned to see Angelina run in.

"We're back Jack!" Angelica exclaimed as she entered.

"Angelica, stop running in the house!" Sarah strictly reprimanded her.

"Honey it's fine." David placated his wife.

Jack saw this and had Deja vu. If they didn't greet him he would've thought he traveled back in time.

He sighed and thought about his death and his family as he watched the couple and Angelica. He wondered how his mother, father, and sister handled his death.

'Did I even get a funeral? Isn't that how the dead become ghosts?' Jack thought.

He hoped that his family could move past his death.

As Jack was distracted by depressing thoughts the family had made dinner and were sitting at the table.

"Should we have offered some food to Jack?" Sarah asked as she looked at her husband gorging his food down.

"What? Why? He can't eat." David questioned his wife after he swallowed the food in his mouth.

"Don't some people give food as sacrifices to the dead?" Sarah explained her reasoning.

"I guess... But what if he doesn't like it?" David argued, he doesn't want to waste food.

After asking this the couple continued to eat in silence within their thoughts.

A little later the family was done eating and David and angelica went to watch tv while Sarah cleaned the kitchen up.

"Jack come watch T.V with us!" Angelica yelled as they sat on the sofa.

"Daddy let Jack pick the channel!" She then sternly reprimanded her dad, looking remarkably like her mother.

Jack who was finally snapped out of his depressing thoughts heard angelica and joined them on the couch.

"Honey, Jack is a Guardian spirit he wouldn't want to watch-" David started thinking of an excuse to give his silly daughter to explain why Jack can't pick a channel.

Jack heard Angelica's reprimand and laughed.

'This little girl is so sweet.' He thought and then reached to grab the remote while focusing on his hand.

When David was responding the remote suddenly was removed from his and laid next to angelica where Jack was sitting.

David and Angelica watched the remote do this with two very different emotions. David was frozen in fear and shock not expecting a remote to suddenly be taken from him and float across the couch.

Angelica meanwhile was happy and excited as she watched the remote float by her and settled on the empty spot next to her while giggling the whole time thinking about how it was such a good magic trick.

David came to his senses as Jack started flipping channels and decided to just shut up and be quiet. He never would have believed it if he didn't see it with his own eyes.

Jack eventually found a good channel and stopped before he ran out of energy completely.

Two family members and a ghost quietly watched television until Sarah finished cleaning and came to join them.

"Mom stop! Jack is sitting there."

Just as Sarah was about to sit on the opposite side of her daughter, she heard her daughter stop her.

Jack who Sarah was about to sit on just thought lewdly he didn't mind it at all, truthfully, he would've quite liked it. She has a nice bottom.

Sarah looked at the empty spot and then at her daughter and husband in disbelief.

"Is that so..." She stammered.

David nodded when she looked at him. She determined it was better to not argue so she pulled a chair up and sat next to David.

"What happened?" She asked David when she saw in acting unnaturally.

"Nothing... Jack took the remote from me and started flipping channels until he found one." David replied to her question.

"The remote flew out of my hand and floated to the empty spot next to Angelica." Seeing his wife still giving him a confused look, he leaned close and whispered to her.

Sarah and David then silently watched television while periodically looking at the empty spot next to Angelica.

A few shows later an ad caught the couple and Jack's attention. The ad was for a show about a Ghost hunting crew doing a live investigation of a house nearby.

'So they even have shows like this too." Jack thought happily. Maybe if he watched it he could get some hints about this afterlife.

"That's pretty close to here isn't it?" Sarah remarked.

"Yeah..." David replied, but then suddenly had an idea.

"What if after work I go over there and see if I can invite them over?" David suggested.

"Oh that's a great idea maybe they can help Jack!" Sarah happily exclaimed while thinking that maybe they can repay him this way.

Jack was excited to hear this as he checked his experience.

'If they come and investigate I could probably level up, Maybe even twice!' He thought happily.

Shortly after Sarah noticed the time.

"Okay, you two you both have to get up early tomorrow so it's bedtime!" Sarah told Angelica and David.

"Awwww, but I want to watch more T.V with Jack." Angelica gave her mother puppy eyes and put her hand clasped together in front of her chest as she spoke.

"Don't give me that look. You can play with Jack Tomorrow after school. Who even taught you that?" Sarah ignored the look but questioned how she learned it.

"Tch." Angelica clicked her tongue and pouted when her super secret ability failed.

"Do we leave the television on for Jack?" David questioned.

"I suppose, just put the volume down." Sarah conceded and then took Angelica's hand before they went to her room.

"Good night, Jack!" Angelica yelled to empty space.

"Night!" Jack yelled back causing the parents to freeze and taking a few seconds to regain their wits.

After they left the hall and entered Angelica's room David muttered about Jack getting a goodnight but David got nothing.

Jack laughed and then as they finished their nightly routine to go to sleep he checked his status.
