CHAPTER 21: CURIOSITY

"Your Majesty, we have brought Prince Zeliker to meet you," Gizelis told Sektar while kneeling on one knee.

He and Silvert already explained to Zeliker about Elamos' request that he go to Drick and let him meet Sektar for more details.

"Thank you, Gizelis. How are you, Zeliker?" Sektar asked.

He was sitting in his throne room. Beside him were Dasu and six royal guards.

"A little jiffy. I heard that King Elamos invited me to Drick." Zeliker replied while folding his hands.

When he entered the throne room again, he shuddered and thought this hall was haunted. If not, why would he bleed a lot of time when he just appeared there?

But, then again, it was only two times and it seems it was intermittently between the time he entered. Let's check again.

The first time he came to this throne hall and was injured by Hoogles. The second time he has returned after the human trafficking and everything seems normal. Next, he got injured again because of Elamos and last, now, where it could end normally…

Damn it, he shouldn't think about this place right now! Focus, Zeliker!

Sektar replies took his attention again.

"Yes, he did. He wants to apologize to you because of his actions a week ago. He hopes you can be a representative to bring the demon in Drick back here. Even so, I'm still wary of him. So, what's your decision, Zeliker?" Sektar didn't want to force Zeliker if he didn't want to go.

"Hm…" Zeliker went silent for a moment then shrugged. "It won't hurt to see him again. I agree."

"Are you sure? What if he prepares a plan to capture you there?"

"Then, I'll just escape to my dimension. It's not like he can follow after me when I'm there."

Sektar chuckled. He forgot Zeliker has his dimension to hide. This should be a relief thing then.

"Okay... Dasu, what'd you think? Is it alright to let Zeliker go to Drick? Would it be dangerous?" Sektar turns his head to Dasu beside him.

Well, he wants to know what Dasu would think of it too.

"Everywhere is dangerous for him, Your Majesty. And I think he can try to see what King Elamos is up to. Going there would not hurt him since he has his secret place to hide. Moreover, King Elamos perhaps sincerely wanted to apologise to Zeliker. So, going there is his choice." Dasu answered truthfully.

"Alright. Zeliker, I hope you be careful when you are there. Gizelis, Silvert, please protect him and if anything happens, everyone must escape. I know Elamos is sometimes a good person but I'm not so sure about his behaviour around the royal demon. And you have already seen what transpired before so be very careful." Sektar warned them.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" Gizelis and Silvert bowed to Sektar.

I don't need a caretaker though…

Zeliker thought quietly but he realised something from Sektar. It's a feeling like Sektar was caring for him. Why?

"Your Majesty, I've been wondering about something for a very long time."

"And that is?"

"Why didn't you put an advance control collar on me? You should know I could break a normal collar so easily. So, why?"

Sektar raised one eyebrow and then chuckled. Interesting! It seems Zeliker noticed it, huh?

"I just feel like you're not a problem maker."

Zeliker's eyes twitched. "You are not afraid if the opposite happened? What if I got violent and went for a kill?"

"You would?" Sektar stares at him.

"... No… I'm too lazy."

"And you have the answer. Haha!" Sektar laughed.

Gizelis and Silvert eyed each other with a small smile. Listening to Zeliker who got defeated by someone's smart words was really interesting.

"But, that's not the point! You should know that all royal demons are aggressive and violent. Why is there no caution towards me?" Zeliker was still confused about all this.

Sektar smiled gently. "When the first time I saw you, I knew who you really are, Zeliker."

And not in Eskimos…

His continued words were put away deep in his heart. Unfortunately, Zeliker was too smart. He caught something from his sentences. His eyes widened before he closed them.

"When did he meet me? Is it in the war? But, Eskimos didn't enter the war at that time. So where? Where did Sektar meet him?" He thought quietly before opening his eyes again.

"Fine, I don't care why you put such a useless collar on me anymore. So, when I'll be leaving for Drick?" He asked.

"Better right away but… Gizelis, ready a team of soldiers by today. Then, leave tomorrow morning. We don't want to make Elamos wait too long or have him kill the demons in his custody. Now, dismissed!" Sektar ordered them.

Gizelis and Silvert left with Zeliker after bowing to Sektar again.

On their way to the soldier's headquarters…

"King Sektar has been treating me too well. Why?" Zeliker was puzzled.

"Hehe... Your Majesty probably considers you as one of his sons now, Zeliker. Your Majesty's method is always good toward everyone he thinks is kind, regardless if you are human or demon. I am relieved to have a king like this compared to the kings of other kingdoms. Only this country is willing to take in the demon race, who no longer want to return to their kingdom again or are homeless. This country welcomes the demon race as long as they don't break the law of this kingdom." Gizelis explained.

"I see…"

"Zeliker, Silvert, I hope you guys don't do anything dangerous in Drick Country. After all, Zeliker, you're free now. You can go anywhere you like or stay here. So, what are your plans after this?" Gizelis asked.

"Hm… It's a lie if I'm not interested in the human kingdom. Since I had a chance, maybe I should go travelling and widen my view of this place."

Silvert nodded. "There are many places we have never seen before. Might take this chance for sightseeing."

"Heh, if so, you both are welcome to come back here again whenever you guys feel bored. Sigh… Me and everyone will miss you guys..." Gizelis gave a sad smile.

"Tsk! Did you forget that we can meet in the dimension? Come there if you have something to tell us and we might be there during the night for a rest, isn't it Silvert?"

"Correct. Come visit us whenever you like."

"And... If we are tired of touring all the countries, we'll return here again. Actually, there's another reason I want to travel. I am curious about the history of our world, especially why humans and demons like to war with each other. Why can't they make peace like in Eskimos? I wonder what makes us all different and also why the need to fight with each other when we are all just human? So, there must be an answer if I go on a trip, right? I also want to find out about my weakness and why I have it in the first place."

Zeliker meant he can't drink human blood so there should be a clue about it somewhere.

Gizelis and Silvert were astonished. They never thought Zeliker would think so deeply. Their eyes went shining while looking at Zeliker like he was their favourite history professor. Maybe he was…

Zeliker, realizing their silence, looked over at them one by one. He instantly glared at them.

"What are you guys thinking?! You better hide it before I find out!" He snapped.

Gizelis and Silvert turned depressed. Why can't Zeliker accept their fangirling? Eh, not fangirling but fanboying? That sounds awful so scratch that.

The next day, after the soldiers were assembled, they moved out. Xcerox was coming along as their representatives as well to make peace with the Drick Kingdom and also to show Eskimos still cared for the demons in Drick's custody. His presence was important. Miulwess can't go because he still has his study lesson with Bekura at the technician building.

As for Stiria, she's a princess. Such a diplomatic thing wasn't her duty to go or follow. So, she just does her things like always, reading in the library. But she and Miulwess come to watch them before they leave the palace.

"Brother, please watch Zeliker. I fear if no one got a close watch on him, he might do something ridiculous again." Miulwess reminded Xcerox with their friends nodding in agreement.

"Hey, I heard that! You should give me more of your trust." Zeliker rolled his eyes at them.

They glare at him. That's because you did it a lot of times!

After saying their goodbyes, Zeliker, Silvert, Xcerox, Gizelis, Nish, and the soldiers move out. Riseptos reinstated his duty of protecting Stiria again since Silvert was now there to protect Zeliker. He was sad but he realised Zeliker was more comfortable around Silvert. So, he backed away. He would do that only when Zeliker was in Antonia.

Frix and Ashla were also left to protect Miulwess and Stiria. After all, they still can meet each other in Zeliker's mansion. No need to feel that they won't meet each other again. They just hope nothing happened during their journey to Drick Kingdom.
