Chapter 3

After I got home, I washed myself immediately and went to my room to sleep, but after 30 minutes of lying on my bed, I still couldn't fall asleep, so I went downstairs to watch a movie instead. I prepared some snacks and liquor and placed them on the table, turned on the air conditioning and flatscreen, and, after choosing a movie, got a blanket. As I sit comfortably on my couch, I feel more relaxed now, thinking about the experience I had earlier when I was with Mike's friends; it was quite new to me. I rarely go to a bar or have a drink with people, or if someone tries to invite me, I'll decline, but I want to make some changes in myself just because I guess I have to get used to having people around me first.

-------

It was already nine in the morning when I woke up, and since I don't have anything to do today, I made a few bacon and egg sandwiches. They're really easy and healthy to make with just toasted bread or a bagel, an egg, bacon, lettuce, and mustard. They're already perfect, but you can still add or replace the lettuce with sliced tomato, and then you can also add cheese.I don't think I'll be able to eat lunch later, and so I'm thinking if I should go out to take a photo. Did I mention before that I love cooking? I used to watch a lot of videos on YouTube and search on Google for food; sometimes I'd watch cooking shows. Aside from cooking, I also like photography, but ever since I got a job, I rarely touch my camera.

It's already 3 p.m. in the afternoon, and I sit down on the terrace, thinking about how I should spend my time before tomorrow. In the end, I decided to just stay at home, and I placed my camera on the table to take a photo if I saw anything interesting. I take my time looking around until I notice that my neighbor on the right side is also sitting on the terrace while reading, and as I look carefully, the first thing I do is get my camera and take a picture. The girl is sitting with her back straight, wearing an a-line, sleeveless, knee-length white dress. I don't know if she has make-up, but right now her natural beauty really stands out, especially with the gentle wind that will gently blow her hair from time to time and the blue sky. Plus, with the peaceful atmosphere around her, it feels like everything is falling into place for her. As I checked the picture, I came back to my senses and was shocked to learn that the girl in the photo is one of Mike's friends. I forgot her name, but she's the girl with sharp blue eyes. I slowly raised my head to look carefully, but the moment I raised my head and our eyes met again for the third time, I was shocked again and speechless. I knew I should apologize, so to break the awkwardness, I smiled at her and placed my hands together to make a gesture of apology since she wouldn't be able to hear me. I don't know if she found out that I took a picture of her or just found me looking at her, but I feel guilty for taking a photo without her consent because of the rush of the moment. Don't misunderstand, I'm not scared of girls; it's just that her sharp eyes feel like they can penetrate a soul and read what's on your mind, and since I'm holding a camera, I don't want to be misunderstood as a rude or perverted person. I stood up and nodded to her; she shrugged and went back to reading. I went to the kitchen and took a deep breath to calm myself; I almost lost my composure there because of that eye contact. I didn't know she was my neighbor until today. I shake my head at this coincidence and move on. I then think of what's for dinner since I wasn't able to cook last night.

I cooked steamed lobsters with lemon butter sauce, spicy fried chicken, and fresh salad. I look at my dishes, and an idea pops up: I get a few lobsters with lemon butter sauce and put them on a plate. I went to my neighbor, the girl earlier in the terrace; when the door opened, she looked at me as if she were waiting for what I was going to say.

"I didn't know you were my neighbor, here. "I cooked a lot; I hope you'll like it."

The girl looked at me first, then at the lobster. She reached out and invited me inside, but I declined since I really just came to give her lobster as an apology. I then bid her farewell after she returned the plate, and when I get home, I take a deep breath because her aura is too much for me—or should I say her cold look?. After that scenario, I went back to the kitchen to get the food and set it on the table. This is my treat to myself for working hard. I eat while watching, and I saw on TV that some bloggers are getting arrested for taking advantage of their fans, which is really not good. Fans really have to be careful, especially when they don't know anything real about their idol. I connect my phone to the TV and watch some bloggers' mukbang. Now that blogging is really convenient, especially for those who don't have jobs, should I blog too? I guess I'll have to think about it; blogging looks really fun, and I can share my hobbies and earn money if it goes well. My phone rings, and it is Mike. I answer the phone. I can clearly tell that he just woke up and called me to check if I had fun yesterday and wanted to hang out again next time. This time I said I'd think about it because we just hung out yesterday.
