33 Chapter 33: She didn't die

Emily stood not far away, tears streaming down her face as she listened to William's soliloquy.

Since the engagement ceremony, Emily knew he must have regretted it so much that he wished he could die. When he held onto Jessica and kept trying to wake her up, she cried her eyes out too.

She knew his remorse, so when she found out that William had not sent the body to the crematorium but instead brought it back to the Davis family, she did not stop him.

She didn't have the ability or the right to stop him. Her brother had wrongly accused Jessica, and wasn't she also at fault?

Thinking of everything she had done to Jessica before, she even wanted to slap herself hard. William's regret must not be any less than hers.
