21 You’re Driving Me Crazy

"Nat, can I use your kitchen!" Nicholas shouted from outside. Natalie, who was busy cleaning her body, only grinned and allowed him to use her kitchen.

After spending quite a long time there, Natalie had finished with her bath ritual. She came out wearing only a bathrobe, luckily there was no one in the room as Nicholas was busy in the kitchen. Natalie quickly got dressed and went to the kitchen to meet Nicholas.

Natalie stopped her steps when she saw Nicholas, who was still topless, busy making breakfast. Inside, Natalie kept screaming because she could not bear to look at Nicholas' good looks in the morning. His broad shoulders that are comfortable to lean on, his muscular back that is suitable for hugging from behind. Shit, Natalie was embarrassed when she realized there were quite a few scratches on Nicholas' back that must have been his doing last night.

Until Nicholas finally realized that Natalie was standing and looking at him.

"Hey, come here. I made a simple breakfast for both of us," Nicholas said, smiling so sweetly. Natalie gasped a little, but she complied. She stepped back and pulled out a chair to sit at the dining table.

She looked at the breakfast made by the blonde man. It turned out that Nicholas made Egg benedict, which consisted of a muffin then topped with a half boiled egg and ham complete with hollandaise sauce. Nicholas also put tea next to Natalie.

"You really can cook, huh," Natalie said as she grabbed a fork and knife to eat Nicholas' breakfast. The small piece went into her mouth, Natalie chewed it with great appreciation.

And it was really delicious.

"How does it taste?" Nicholas asked, who had been watching Natalie's expression, and sat down in front of her.

"It's delicious, I love it," Natalie replied with a big smile. She devoured the eggs benedict again, which made Nicholas happy too. "But shouldn't I try your cooking if I'm not your wife?" Natalie asked, alluding to Nicholas' words the other day.

Nicholas sipped his milk coffee, then replied, "That's true. But won't you be my wife later?"

Natalie chuckled softly as she shook her head. "You're so confident."

"Sorry."

"No-that's not what I meant! Uhh, come on. I was just joking," Natalie scoffed as Nicholas just gave up.

"I'm joking too," Nicholas replied with a sweet smile adorning his handsome face. Natalie's cheeks flushed red, she immediately turned her face back to stare at the delicious breakfast and was busy devouring it.

There was no more conversation between them, busy with their respective breakfasts. Natalie was reluctant to ask Nicholas to talk because he was so serious and elegant while eating. It was as if it had become the man's manner not to talk when at the dinner table. However, Nicholas was actually thinking and imagining everything that happened last night. He was so excited that he felt like going crazy.

"So I still don't know when my love is accepted?" Nicholas asked, suddenly which immediately made Natalie choke. Nicholas quickly gave her some water.

Natalie took a sip of the water and when she felt calmer she returned Nicholas' gaze which was looking at her curiously despite his flat expression. "I don't know. Can we just take this relationship slowly?"

"May I know what makes you not like me yet?"

"Many."

Instantly Nicholas was gloomy as if there were clouds above him. He mentally collapsed to the ground with just one word from Natalie's lips.

"It's not about looks or attitude, but I also want to make sure that your feelings for me are not temporary," Natalie continued to explain, feeling guilty for making Nicholas depressed. "No one knows in the future, maybe you don't like me anymore and aren't curious about me. That's why I didn't want to accept your proposal so quickly."

Nicholas looked back at Natalie, there was no response because Nicholas did not want to say words that he did not know if his words could be held to the end. What Natalie said was right, he also had to hold back the passionate feelings in his heart so as not to make the woman he loved uncomfortable.

After breakfast was over, Nicholas prepared to go home. Natalie also escorted him to the front door of her apartment unit.

"Thank you for everything in this one night," Nicholas said.

Natalie nodded as she waved her hand, not forgetting the corners of her lips that lifted to show her sweet smile. Shortly after that, Natalie's eyes rounded when Nicholas hugged her. His embrace was comfortable, not tight and not hurtful. However, Natalie could feel Nicholas' heart beating quite fast. The hug was broken, and Nicholas' face was so close that it made Natalie's heart skip a beat.

If Natalie had no pride, she would have scooped Nicholas' lips right this second.

Nicholas smiled slightly and said, "See you later, Miss. Moana."

"Um, okay. Be careful on the road, Mr. Ramirez."

Natalie looked at the burly back that was getting farther and farther away and finally disappeared from her sight. Even now, her heart was still pounding. Natalie held her chest, she really could not deny that she had fallen under the blonde man's charm.

"So it's true that you spent the night with Nicholas," said someone who made Natalie gasp in surprise. She turned around and found her best friend leaning against the door with both hands folded in front of her chest.

"You! How did you know?" Natalie screeched, her face as red as a tomato.

"Just a hunch, but it's true. I called you last night but you didn't come out."

"Really? I didn't hear you calling me."

"You're busy with your prince, aren't you?" Joy teaser, as she walked over to Natalie.

"Oh, come on. Don't tease me," Natalie replied, rolling her eyes lazily.

"So, you don't want to tell me why you're with Nic again? Didn't you say he didn't contact you before?" Joy asked curiously.

"It's a long story, and I don't know why it ended like this."

"I'm guessing you had sex with him."

"Exactly."

"Crazy!" Joy squealed, even though she was the one who had guessed but her shocked expression really could not be hidden. "So? How does it feel? Oh My God, my friend is going to be the wife of a rich businessman!"

"Shut your noisy tin can mouth, Joy. Why don't you go to work anyway!" Natalie asked, as she covered Joy's mouth to stop her from screaming and disturbing the other residents of the apartment.

Joy removed Natalie's hand from her mouth and replied, "You forgot because you were embarrased, didn't you? My shift is tonight."

"Ugh... damn it."
