7 07. Adventurers' Guild
Kazuha and Ryūhei arrived in front of a 24-square-meter building. The building is none other than the Wanmin restaurant which is quite crowded with customers.
The restaurant may not seem that big. However, seeing a large number of people dine-in and takeaway, Ryūhei was quite sure that the food at the restaurant was not inferior to expensive restaurants.
When Ryūhei and Kazuha went inside, the seats were mostly occupied. Coincidentally there were still 3 empty seats, so Ryūhei quickly took two of them.
Apart from customers, he saw the chef who was cooking and the other one was a waitress serving customers.
"Huh, heat energy? A Pyro Vision holder? And she's still young." Ryūhei muttered after seeing the heat energy from the girl.
The girl has black hair cut in a bob-like fashion, golden eyes, and a pale complexion. Her bangs are swept to one side by a golden hair clip with a paw motif, and the rest of her hair is braided in a looped bow-like updo at the back of her head resembling panda ears when viewed from the front, fastened with a small red ribbon.
She wears a brown and gold leotard with red ribbons in the front and back, the back being larger, and holding a bell. She wears a gold belt, which she uses to hold her Vision and carry around her red panda companion. Additionally, she wears brown fingerless gloves and boots, as well as a braided red ribbon around her left thigh and right arm and adhesive bandages crossed in an X on her right knee.
Then, he heard a person in front of him ask.
"Oh, you two are so unfamiliar. Did you two come for the Wanmin restaurant experience?"
It was the chef of the restaurant. After that, Ryūhei replied.
"Ah yes. We just arrived from Inazuma. Do you have a spicy dish?"
"Oh, rare guests I have here. And since you wanted a spicy dish, I recommend Black Back Perch Stew and Jueyun Chili Chicken… Ah, wait a minute!"
The chef stopped his conversation with Ryūhei. It seemed that the chef had sensed that the food was cooked. So he immediately turned down the heat, then poured it into the bowl.
"Xiangling, my dear. Take this one to the customer."
"Yes, yes…"
The waitress, or the girl called Xiangling immediately went to the chef. The girl took the ordered dish, then brought it to the customer.
"Chef, isn't your waitress a Vision holder? How did you even manage to make her a waitress?" Ryūhei asked curiously.
"What are you talking about? She's my daughter. Of course, I need her to learn how to serve customers. She will inherit the Wanmin restaurant after all."
"So that's how it is."
"But how? Aren't you blind since you covered your eyes with that blindfold the whole time? How can you tell that my daughter is a Vision holder?"
"Who said I'm blind? I'm just using this as a form of training."

The chef didn't think that someone would train with a blindfold like this. Normally, people would blindfold their eyes only when they train. But, it was not the case with Ryūhei.
"Cut the crap old man! Anyway, give me a portion of Jueyun Chili Chicken and a bowl of rice. Also, give me a cold drink as well!"
"Got it. And then, what about this brother?" The chef glanced at Kazuha. Kazuha is still looking at the menu, unaware that the chef called out to him. Until Ryūhei lightly tapped his shoulders.
"Ah, sorry. I want a portion of Squirrel Fish along with a bowl of rice!"
"Any drink you want?"
"Err, just give me a glass of water."
"Got it."
The chef is back at work. Just from the fragrant aroma of the cooking, one could tell how delicious the food at the Wanmin restaurant was, no wonder so many customers frequented this restaurant.
A few minutes later. The chef brought the dishes, while the girl called Xiangling brought drinks.
Ryūhei and Kazuha tasted the delicious cuisines of Liyue. No doubt, the taste was so unforgettable. On the other hand, Ryūhei felt invigorated after tasting the Black Back Perch Stew. It was the first time he had that feeling after eating food.
"The heck, such a magical dish. It's as if this dish is similar to the buff dish in One Piece or Toriko." Ryūhei muttered after finishing the dish. When he saw Kazuha also finished his dish, he asked,
"How is it?"
Kazuha turned to Ryūhei before answering.
"Marvelous. This is the first time I've tasted such delicious food."
The chef who heard that responded to him.
"Hahaha, thanks for your praise, young man. Actually, my daughter's cooking is even better than mine, you know. Her skills have far surpassed mine."
Ryūhei held his own chin with interest.
"Your daughter is? That's incredible. How about you let your daughter be my maid?"
Hearing that, of course, the chef immediately snapped.
"Hell, I would allow that! Are you asking for a beating?"
Seeing the chef unleash his anger toward Ryūhei, Kazuha stepped forward.
"Calm down, mister chef. My friend is just joking!"
Ryūhei nodded. Then added.
"That's right, old man. Take it easy. You're the one who promoted your daughter's achievement earlier. It's not my fault that I'm interested in her, right? Although I want to, I can't afford to pay such a genius in cooking as a maid."
"So, you're saying you'll be taking her if you have money?"
Ryūhei just shrugged his shoulders, not denying or confirming. The chef was even more irritated. But then, Xiangling's voice resounded as if saving Ryūhei from his predicament.
"Father, why are you scolding our customer? They won't come here again if you act like that!"
"Ah, Xiangling, my dear. I'm not scolding our customer."
Looking at those two, Ryūhei put a smile on his face. Then he got up from his seat before talking to Kazuha.
"I'll go out first. Take care of the bill! And thanks for the meal." Ryūhei walked outside while waving his hand. After getting out of the Wanmin restaurant, he mumbled.
"I want to ask Xiangling, which of her friends at her age likes stories like novels or something along the line. Maybe that person could be my first customer. Too bad she's busy. I'd better head across to ask someone in the Adventurers' guild. Or perhaps I should find such a person by myself."
Ryūhei crossed the street, heading toward the Adventurers' Guild. A black-haired beauty with bangs, gray-blue eyes, and fair skin stood at the reception-like table. She wears a white dress with a black corset, green accents, and a red bow on the back, similar to a maid uniform. Unlike his knowledge from Earth, where the reception at the Adventurer's Guild was inside the building, it was outside at Teyvat.
The beauty turned in Ryūhei's direction as she heard footsteps approaching. With a professional smile she put on her face, she greeted him.
"Ad astra abyssosque! Welcome to the Adventurers' Guild. I'm Katheryne, the receptionist of the Adventurers' Guild."
Although Ryūhei didn't understand what the first sentence meant, he didn't care and just asked.
"Miss Katheryne, do I need Mora to register?"
"There's no need, traveler." Katheryne pulled out a pen and a piece of paper from a drawer before handing them to him. "You can fill out this form to register."
Ryūhei nodded.
The form is simple. It just needed to be filled with his name, nation, specialty(s), experience(s), and party members. And at the bottom was a warning that the Adventurers' Guild was not responsible for the death of adventurers. Therefore the adventurer is required not to write down excess specialties and experiences, beyond the original ability of the adventurer.
"Wait, what is this specialty, what should I fill in?"
"It means the thing you are good at. For example, weapons skills, archaeology, solving puzzles in ruins, and so on."
"I see, I get it. And what about the experience?"
"You can leave it blank or write about your experience. For example, having hiked to Qingyun Peak, the highest area in Liyue, or perhaps having killed Primo Geovishap and such. By writing this experience, we can determine the most difficult commissions for you which will be suitable and you can overcome thanks to your experience and expertise." Katheryne explained it carefully. Ryūhei nodded, understanding why the adventurers shouldn't lie about their experiences. But, hiding the experience is still allowed since it wouldn't endanger the adventurer's life.
