My survival is top priority

"Congratulations, you are now a licensed adventurer of Mondstadt."

Mondstadt, known as the city of Bards, Wine, and Freedom. A nation that is under the God of Wind, the Anemo Archon.

Yet despite being under one of the Seven Archon's watch, Mondstadt is a nation that runs on its own. Its own Archon rarely shows himself but everyone knows that he is always protecting Mondstadt.

On this day, a youth of not that old received a card from the adventurer's guild receptionist, Katheryn.

"Finally..." Silently huffed the young man as he leaned on the counter with an exhausted face.

"You can now receive three commissions per day and complete them for rewards," Katheryne spoke as she continued looking at the young man in front of her. "Right now, your adventurer rank is 1— as such, you cannot take on high-level tasks for the time being."

"Yes, I already read it in the handbook..." The youth politely said as he lifted his head to look at her.

His tired eyes then looked at Katheryne and his face managed to curve up a faint smile. "Thanks, Katheryne. I'll be seeing you for quite a lot from now on."

"Yes," Katheryne nodded with a gentle smile. "From here on point, you will face many dangers, so please keep yourself safe."

"Will do." The youth gently nodded as he tucked his adventurer card in his pocket.

"Well then," Katheryne nodded. "Ad Astra Abyssosque, Adventurer Eden."

The youth in front of her had blond hair and clear blue eyes that resemble the sky. He wore a simple outfit that is not too tight to move in and on top of his outfit was a dark-green cloak he always keeps on.

"Ad Astra Abyssosque too." The youth named Eden nodded as he also said Katheryne's words.

After saying this, he waved her goodbye and left.

'That completes it then...' He thought as he adjusted his head to clear his stiff neck.

'Open.' With a simple thought, something appeared in front of him. It was something only he– Eden— can see.

It resembled a hologram that is colored black with intricate golden patterns on its side. However...

[Locked.]

On it were chains and a lock in the middle, clearly saying that it was locked away.

'Still no use, huh?' Eden sighed before finding a bench to sit down on. He sat down and started contemplating.

'It's already been a year since I've transmigrated into this body...'

Truth be told, he was not someone from this world. He was a transmigrator.

He possessed the body of a young child about one and a half years ago. Not just that, but he also found out that he transmigrated inside the last video game he was playing.

His previous body was on the brink of death when he first possessed it, but thankfully, he managed to save it by utilizing his sufficient knowledge as a grown person and received help from the Church of Favonius.

For his first few months, he had done nothing but survive in Teyvat— a world that he suddenly found himself in. He took many jobs just to sustain himself— and yes, he has no parents to provide for him. At least, not ones that he knows of.

Finally, on the day of the new year, he received it. His own "cheat" in this world.

It was a system.

However, something happened that caused the system to malfunction and temporarily disable and cease all functions.

But right before it was deactivated, it gave Eden one essential thing for him to survive.

It was a bloodline template.

And not just any other bloodline... but the Ackerman Bloodline. The very same bloodline from the world of titans.

Eden sighed once more and looked up at the sky. 'Since I'm now an official adventurer, I should be able to start my journey.'

The gears of fate are constantly turning and the unending waves of destiny drag those who are unprepared down to the depths.

Once the starborne traveler wakes up and begins their journey, the grand show of the world shall start and danger shall transpire to another level than it was now.

As such, Eden— who knows the future of the world— shall not stand by idly and be engulfed in the grand schemes of the Gods in control of this world.

And the first step to surviving in this world is...

'Money.' He thought with a straight and serious face. 'I need money.'

'By adventuring, I can earn a lot of money if I complete hard commissions or domain explorations.' In truth, Eden has been very busy ever since he received his bloodline.

The Ackerman Bloodline— notorious in its world for producing warriors of high caliber. It is said that the descendants of this bloodline can borrow the experiences of their ancestors and fight in a way that no one can match them.

To bear such a bloodline, Eden spent the past year training to build his body up to its standards while preparing for the Adventurer's Guild examination.

But even with his training in the past, he had never been able to once activate the bloodline. After all, for it to activate, he must first encounter a life-and-death situation.

As such, he came up with a plan with a bit of a twist. 'If I truly want to activate my bloodline... I need him...'

That's right. In this world where monsters are everywhere, Eden can easily find one to experience that life-and-death situation.

But he knows that those aren't enough. The situation needs to be unexpected where his mind is tested and pushed off the limit. The one where he has to choose options.

As such, joining the adventurer's guild wasn't just for earning money— but for also this very same reason.

"Hey! Eden!" Suddenly, someone called out for Eden and he was snapped out of his thoughts.

He lifted his head and saw a youth somewhere around his age or perhaps younger calling out to him.

That person waving and running towards him with a big smile on his face had white hair— making it hard not to see him.

After a while, the person finally got near Eden. He then huffed heavily. "Phew... Oh man, you'll never guess what I ran into while looking for you!"

"Let me guess, someone accidentally dropped their flower vase near you again?" Eden lightly smiled as he questioned.

"Yeah!" The person nodded in agreement. "This is why I rarely stroll in the city... you'll never know what'll drop down on your head!"

"Haha, you're right." Eden chuckled at the person's antics. "Although, it may be because of your luck."

"Heh, yeah that could also be it." The person smiled brightly at Eden's response.

Yes, this was his solution to activate his bloodline.

If he truly wants to experience a life-and-death situation where his mind would be pushed to the edge, then this was a great way.

Eden accidentally met him a few months ago and ever since then, he had been slowly befriending the person.

It was none other than Bennett— a young and passionate adventurer, as well as the infamous "Most unlucky Adventurer".

His bad luck is so bad, it affects anyone around him.

And yes, this is the reason Eden wants to join Bennett's team. It's to utilize his bad luck to his advantage.

But to be honest, even though Eden intended to only use Bennett for his own benefit, Eden somehow got too close to him and now he truly considers him as a friend.

Perhaps it was because of Bennett's personality or is it perhaps because of the nostalgia it brings him back to when he was still only new to the game? After all, Bennett was the character he used and essentially never left his party until he became high-level.

"Well then," Eden slowly stood up. "Since I already got my adventurer's license, I guess that would finally allow me to join you?"

He then raised his hand and extended it to Bennett, intending to shake his arm.

"Heck yeah!" Bennett joyfully exclaimed and shook his hand. "From now on, you're part of Benny's Adventure Team!"

"Please take care of me." Eden gently smiled.

He knows not what shall unfold, but he is here to witness and experience all of them.
