Genshin Impact: Icy Path

A Genshin Impact fan dies and finds himself over the fantasy world of Teyvat. However, funny adventures, riches and fame were no waiting for him, instead, a cruel reality and a curse is what lay in front of him, forcing him to use all his means to protect his new loved ones, even if means falling to deepest abysm. ---- I thought about this story months ago before the actual start of the 2.0 version, finally having some time now to write it. So there would be some changes from it (For example the lost of Raiden Shogun's gnosis). Also, the story would start at the Snezhnaya, so I would invent most of it as it lacks concrete information. ---- To support me p*treon.com/picaco for chapter in advance.

Succession

Allen was browsing a little boat with his gaze directly on his destination, Watatsumi Island, the characteristic corrals already in his view.

Watatsumi Island was the farthest island from Inazuma City, on the west part of Inazuma, and unlike other parts of Inazuma, they didn't venerate the Raiden Shogun as their god, venerating the deceded Serpent God Orobashi instead. This, with along more things, caused their relationship with the central government to not be very friendly. This bad relationship started hundreds of years before.

Watatsumi Island was an artificial island created with the coral of Orobashi's body and the people of it were former inhabitants of a submerged realm called Byakuyakoku that were rescued by Orobashi, bringing them outside and protected them while teaching them to farm and smelt for them to live freely.

However, there was a big problem. Due to the nature of the Island, it wasn't very compatible with farm, lacking fertile ground. So when famine and diseases appeared, the people of Watatsumi Island convinced Oroboshi, who was against it at first, to invade Inazuma, successfully invading the more fertile Yashiori Island.

The Raiden Shogun quickly acted, charging to war with them. After a ferocious war with a great loses for both sides, the war finally ended with the Shogun slaining Oroboshi with her Musou no Hitotachi.

From this point, Watatsumi Island and its inhabitants became part of Inazuma and for reasons that Allen couldn't really understand, they were allowed their own self-government. They need to follow some rules but they were still quite independent, with their own culture and even having their own army.

That's why Allen was quite interested in them. Watatsumi Island was nowhere close to their former power with a powerful god leading them, but they had still quite the strength, plus a bad past with Inazuma with an inherited anger that still lasted.

This made them the perfect force to cause a rebellion. If they were to star a new war while the internal government is distorted, it would create a great chaos, making easy for Snezhnaya to enter and benefit from it, posing their own forces and 'helping', gaining more influence.

Allen finally reached the shore, landing stealthily on the coast and directly going over the center of the island, towards the Sangonomiya Shrine that today was full of people making it quite easy to pass through towards the central prepared platform without being detected as an outsider.

Allen hadn't taken some time away from the army and went to Watatsumi Island at a random time, he had chosen to go now because today was a special day over the island. Today was the ceremony to choose the new Divine Priestess.

The Divine Priestess was in charge of most of Watatsumi's affairs and was the fact ruler of the island. Having been some months since the former Divine Priestess died, it was time to choose a new one.

Allen knew that the Divine Priestess needed to be a descendant of the Sangonomiya Clan, but he really didn't know how they choose from them, so he was quite curious about it.

"Now let's start the Succession Ceremony!" An old shrine maiden declared from the standing platform. Following her words, multiple people took the stage, all of them wearing ceremony priestess robes.

There were about 30 people, all of them quite different from each other, showing that the Sangonomiya bloodline didn't have any special characteristic, the only fact in common being that they were all female, even their ages were different, encompassing 8 years old to women over their fifties.

Each of them stepped forward in turns towards an altar, touching a transparent jewel that Allen recognized quite well.

'A vision?' Allen thought seeing the women touching the jewel 'Looking at the lack of color, the owner is dead, making it ownerless. Ah!' Allen realized 'So this succession is like this.'

Visions were considered to be the dreams and ambitions of people and once the person died, the Vision died with him, however, it wasn't an irreversible death. If someone with similar ambitions and thoughts to the former owner were to touch the Vision, this one could be activated again, reviving its previous abilities.

'The new Divine Priestess would be the one that activates the Vision again' Allen reasoned 'It makes sense as the one to be able to activate the Vision would have the same dream of the previous one, making the values of the Divine Priestess last for generations.'

'However...' Allen shook his head 'Activating one it's not so easy, a fake will created by another won't work, you'll need to purely dream exactly the same, being extremely difficult. The most probable is that they won't find any...'

Just as Allen was in thought a new girl stepped forward to the altar. Allen completely stopped, his eyes fixed on the girl. She was about his age, 1,46m with azure eyes and short brown hair. She was quite cute, but that wasn't why Allen was fixed. Somehow, he could feel a sense of familiarity with her, but he couldn't say what it was.

*Fush* Just as the girl touched the ownerless Vision, a blindly light surged from it, forcing everyone to close their eyes.

*HISSSSSSSS* A powerful hiss, caused Allen to open his eyes again, seeing a gigantic illusion of a multicolored-scaled Serpent wrapped around the girl.

*HISSSSSS* The serpent turned over the heavens and hissed one last time before disappearing inside the girl whose body had changed.

Her hair grew longer, reaching her hips while changing its color, becoming pale pink salmon with blue high-end. Her eyes turned from azure to deep indigo, her iris completely disappearing from them and her face became more defined and perfect, giving her a more ethereal image than before. In Allen's opinion, she resembled a doll rather than an actual person.

"The Succession has finished!" The old priestess celebrated "Let's all hail the new Divine Priestess, Sangonomiya Kokomi!"

New waifu?

Not necessary, but quite the important character on the overall novel
