Genshin Impact: Icy Path

A Genshin Impact fan dies and finds himself over the fantasy world of Teyvat. However, funny adventures, riches and fame were no waiting for him, instead, a cruel reality and a curse is what lay in front of him, forcing him to use all his means to protect his new loved ones, even if means falling to deepest abysm. ---- I thought about this story months ago before the actual start of the 2.0 version, finally having some time now to write it. So there would be some changes from it (For example the lost of Raiden Shogun's gnosis). Also, the story would start at the Snezhnaya, so I would invent most of it as it lacks concrete information. ---- To support me p*treon.com/picaco for chapter in advance.

Boar Hunting? Aren't they a little too big?

"Hunting boars..." Allen whispered thoughtfully "It should be quite easy as a first mission."

Following his knowledge from Genshin Impact boars weren't monsters, they were part of the wildlife and had close to no defense and live, meaning that any simple attack was enough to kill them.

"I'll need to be aware of ambushes and their charge attacks." However, different from other wildlife such as pigeons or eagles that never attack, the boars had attack power and, while it wasn't much, they could make some damage. It was a simple charge attack so if prepared it was quite easy to avoid it.

"Let's search for some!" Allen cheered himself, taking out his bow from over the coat and putting it over his shoulder, preparing it to quickly use it if needed and making sure that two knives were prepared over his waist to fight in close combat.

"It's strange" Allen started walking over the snowy forest and quickly realized it seemed too quiet "I haven't seen any other animal. I suppose that it would be normal in such a low-temperature area. the hunters have it difficult." Allen thought.

"Wait a moment, what's this?" Allen quickly found a mark over the snow making a hole over the snowy land that he quickly discovered was followed by other identical holes, seemingly the trace of some animal or monster.

These holes were kind of distinctive, being hoofed, meaning that they were most probably the footprint of some animal, being possible to be deer, sheep or his actual target a boar. However, what surprised Allen was the sheer size of them, being half a meter wide.

"Don't tell me..." Allen suddenly remembered one exception to the weak rule of boars "The Great Snowboar King." That was the exception, a kind of mini-boss that resided over the frozen lands of Dragonspine at Mondstadt.

"If there's a king of the Snowboars, there could also be a king of the Iceboars" Allen shuddered "This can be dangerous."

Unlike normal boars, the Great Snowboar King has high Hp, a greater power making each of his hits becoming critical (Of course depending on the build and level) and more variety of attacks, even having a berserker mode where his attack and resistance further increased.

"That giant boar killed some characters the first time" Allen stated remembering his time playing the game, his first time facing that foe, losing against him and needing to run away. While it was mostly due to the frostbite rather than the boss attacks, it didn't take the fact that it was kind of difficult and it wasn't like he had the option of being revived after dying.

"I should avoid it, searching away from this zone" Allen decided, turning away from the trace and going in the opposite direction.

However, it wasn't long before Allen stopped still, seeing in front of him at 300 meters a boar directly staring at him.

"Oh, fuck!" The boar's fur was white with some brown strands along its back. It had long and sharps tusks and all its body was covered with a layer of ice, especially its back where ice spikes formed all over it, making it similar to a Large Cryo Slime. Moreover, Allen wasn't able to make a precise calculation but he was sure that this boar was kind of big.

"BRRRRR!" The boar started charging over Allen, its eyes never leaving him while it destroyed every tree in its way.

As Allen saw him charging, he kept his calm, he took out one arrow, loading it over his bow. He didn't imbue it with cryo as looking at the boar, it was clear that it would be highly resistant, if not immune, to cryo damage.

"Ssssssss!" Allen fired the arrow that perfectly hit the boar between its eyes, however, in the same way, it was perfectly reflected, rebounding from it and unable to cause even a mark.

"Tch!" Seeing his attack useless Allen clicked his tongue and quickly jumped to his right avoiding the charging boar that passed near him, stopping over 50 meters away, finally realizing that he had failed to hit his objective.

"At least the lineal pattern of attack didn't change, but" Allen looked attentively at the boar that now was far nearer "Yes, it's a king."

Now, he was able to see him accurately. 3 meters tall and two meters wide, powerful legs that supported its colossal body with sharp hooves that seemed like knives, all of it with a wide and strong ice armor that seemed to make him an inexpugnable fortress.

"What a shitty luck, a perfect cryo counter" Allen blamed "It's impossible for me to take care of it. I'll need to find a way to escape" Allen looked at his surroundings and the boar, starting running over his left.

"Gmmmmm!" The boar grunted seeing him escaping, kicking the ground and charging again towards Allen at great speed.

"That was close" As before Allen jumped when the boar approached, this time backward and barely avoiding it due to their lowered distance.

"BANG!" However, what it was different this time was the boar charge as after failing to hit Allen it crashed over an enormous tree far more robust than the average. The boar was unable to break it, rebounding from the shock and being stunned for some time.

"Great" Allen clearly remembered one of the strategies of fighting the Great Snowboar King, letting his charge hit a wall and stun it. As there weren't any walls near, he used the strongest tree in his surroundings, being these the reason that he choose to make his first jump in this direction, aligning himself and the boar with the strong tree.

"I need to escape before it recovers and targets me again" Allen started running away.

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" A loud grunt resounded over the forest, making clear for Allen that was caused by the boar from before.

Allen continued his escapade but was forced to stop when two big figures appeared in front of him.

"Gmm!" "Gmm!" Two new boars appeared in his ways, both of them completely similar to the previous one.

"Are you joking?!" Allen swore "There are three of them!" Suddenly Allen realized something "They aren't kings, they are the usual mob and the target of my quest."

"Oh, fuck!" Allen cursed "As expected of a shitty villain. Pantalone put me on an impossible mission with super-strong enemies, resistant to my cryo vision. If I'm correct he doesn't have any vision, this might be his vendetta for me as an allogen."

"I will not let get away with it. I will escape without help." Allen said decidedly, taking his two knives over his hand, his vision starting to shine brightly.

"GMMMMM!" A new grunt sounded from his back, this one angrier, as the previous boar entered the scene. Its charge becoming the signal to attack, the other two charging directly toward Allen.

Allen run forward, making sure that the distance between the three boards was the same, each of them reaching him at the same time.

Facing the three boars mere meters from him, enclosing him, making it impossible to avoid, Allen kept his calm, still focusing on his vision.

"BANGGGGGG!!!!!!" A loud rumble sounded all over the forest as the boars crashed with Allen.

The attacks were so strong to instantly kill Allen, however, the result wasn't that. The three boars rebounded from their objective and in a stunned state, very similar as when the first boar hit the tree. And between the three boars, where Allen's body was situated, stood a round ice sphere with some cracks that were being quickly repaired.

Frozen Shield. That was the ability of the Cryo Cicin Mage's uniform. The Frozen Shield was incredibly sturdy and without a pyro attack was incredibly difficult to break, making the most annoying skill from the Mages.

This was precisely in what Allen was focusing his elemental power from his vision, over his uniform to activate this ability.

"This uniform certainly is the aptest for me" To activate the Frozen Shield, it was usually needed the help of Ice Cicin to feed on their energy, killing the Cicins causing the shield destruction, however, thanks to his vision that was superior to the Mages' mass-produced Delusions, Allen was able to activate in his account, keeping it while he had enough elemental power.

"The mission must be probably finished here" Allen deducted "Wanting for me to trap myself into a Frozen Shield waiting for help and failing the quest. Trying to humiliate me and teach me humility."

Of course, after everything that Pantalone had done to him, it was impossible for him to try to kill him now, so he had a way out. Those thoughts were the ones that make him sure that the Frozen Shield would be strong enough to withstand the boar's attack.

"Let's try something more" Allen gripped the knives at his hands, changing the flow from his uniform to the knives which formed an ice layer that was increasing its width, starting to shine brightly while the Frozen Shield weakened.

The Frozen Shield was an incredible defense, but it had some clear weaknesses. Allen was unable to move from his position, caging himself there and he was unable to attack, neither his knives or arrows being able to pass through it. Moreover, once it was destroyed or withdrawn it would take some time to create a new one.

Allen's knives started blindly shine, the Frozen Shield collapsing "BURST!" Allen threw away his knives landing near the boars.

"BOOOM!" Both knives exploded with a cry energy explosion, covering all the place with a icy mist, hiding their figures. Allen taking the opportunity to escape.

Over this battle, he had discovered that this kind of boar's main sense was sight, having a big scope and being able to see at a great distance. That's the reason for his Elemental Burst, the main objective wasn't damaging them, it was to create the mist to escape. Even if their sense of smell was high as normal boars, the mist would also help to hide it, so it was worth to try it. About their hearing, he should really avoid to make any sound.

Allen started escaping, this time charging between the trees, hiding his figure, preparing once the mist disappears.

"Grooooo!" "Groooo!" Loud grunts could be listened from behind him, causing him to stop. Allen turned around and looked over the boars with a curious look. Unlike the angry shouts from before, these ones were from pain, seemingly to have been suffering greatly.

Allen returned to the scene just as the mist had disappeared, finding the three boars laying on the ground dead with their icy armors having grown bigger.

"I'm such an idiot" Allen sighed covering his face ashamed.

...

Over Ledkavan Village, a boy about 12 years old was playing around with the snow when a small figure clad in blue and white robes came from the forest. This one being, of course, Allen.

"Boy" Allen said gaining the boy's attention who stopped playing and made a shocked expression seeing the Fatui soldier.

"S-sir?"

"What is the weakness of the Ice Boars?" Allen suddenly asked.

"Cryo attacks?" The boy answered a little confused and scared "They are very strong and have high defense, their armor being impenetrable to even fire. But if cryo energy is applied they are overflowed with, the armor growing bigger and smashing them under its weight. That's why Fatui Agents need to come from time to time to the village as we are unable to kill them."

"Thanks, boy" Allen gave him some little Mora and returned over the forest while shaking his head "I'm such an idiot. I tried to find and think about a lot of things, even always doubting the reason behind the quest but never searched about the actual prey, having too much confidence, ignoring to even learn the common sense."

"That should be the reason that the villagers never doubted me failing the hunt, offering transport services" Allen thought, finding himself again over the forest. "Let's start this time the true hunt."

...

"Swwwww!" An arrow flew over the sky, its head reflecting sunlight as a layer of ice covered it.

"Pf!" The arrow hit over the spikey back of an Ice Boar, immediately rebounding and falling to the ground.

"Gruuuuu!" The Ice Boar started shouting in pain as the spikes around it started growing, its eyes turned bloodshed and its veins exploded, the heavy armor smashing his body and finally killing it. All of it while Allen was watching a top of a tree from where he had shot the arrow.

"And with this, it's finished" Allen whispered "20 Ice Boars." He rubbed his head "It's really easy once you know the trick, a pair of arrows with my Elemental Skill is enough to kill one, and they even call for help once they are stunned, being easy using the Frozen Shield or the surroundings, making it easy to group them, finding more."

Allen put his hands behind his neck and leisurely walked over to the village "First Mission. Complete!"
