Chapter 13: Meeting for the Second Time

Aether POV

"Ngh.."

I groaned as I started to slowly wake up. A similar dark void greeted my sight. "This place again," I muttered while looking around, I try to find anything in view. Unlike last time, I don't feel nervous or worried anymore, probably because I have been here before.

Rubbing my eyes, I stood up before stretching my limbs. My memories were still hazy from what happened, all I remembered everything up until Stormterror started to fly away.

"So I'm back here, huh," I muttered while I scratched the back of my head. "It kind of feels.... Nostalgic?"

I started to walk around the void, wondering where Thraxar is. Did he go to celestia now? Or is he still here?

But before I could walk further, I felt that pressure again. A pressure that no gods that I have ever encountered have given me. A pressure that even made ME someone who has fought countless of gods before, feel afraid even though it was just a little bit.

"Welcome back, brat!" A familiar gruff voice greeted me. I turned around to meet the foot of his. "So, you actually fought a dragon eh?"

I turned my head upward to look at him, a visible grin plastered on his face. "You know, I did not expect for you to grow this strong for a short period of time." He continued speaking. "I'm pretty sure that some of my "siblings" are jealous that I have a great successor." He chuckled.

Before he continued to talk further, he noticed my apathetic face. "What's the matter, brat?" He asked.

"I... have a lot of questions right now." I replied.

"Oh.... Yeah, this is your first time seeing someone use "Vision Break" and "Dragonic Overload", yes?" He asked, he smirked as he gained a nod from me. "Well, I'll tell you about it, just follow me." He said.

"Dragonic Overload?" Is that the name of the form Satomi used? Well, I guess Thraxar would answer my questions anyway.

I started following him as he walked forward. Now that I noticed it, everytime he walks, the void shakes slightly. It's a wonder how he was able to sneak up on me.

I sat inside of a cave, where I guess he lives now? What's more confusing is the fact that infront of me was a table made out of rocks and a cup of tea infront of me.

"I... have a lot of questions." I said with a confused expression. "Alright then, go on brat!" He laughed.

"Ok, so first of all.... how do you have a TV, a couch that is big enough for you to fit in, and how did you make this tea?" I asked, taking a sip from the tea.

After being silent for a few seconds, he shook his head. "Things are better unknown, Aether." He said with a serious tone making me tensed up a little. "Nah, just kidding. We're both in your mind right now. So you can basically make anything appear if you focus enough." He brushes off.

"Wait... we're... in my mind, right now?" I asked.

"Yeah, you didn't notice?"

"No, I only had some suspicion."

"Huh, I thought you would know it already."

"Anyways, what's with the sudden change of personality? When we first met, you gave me the expression that you're this wise, strict dragon." I said, he looked at me for a few seconds before chuckling.

"Well I have to make a good first impression." He shrugged. Well I guess his reason made some sense... even though it's dumb.

"So, you said something about 'Vision Break' and 'Dragonic Overload'? What are those to be exact?" I asked.

"Oh right. So, which one do you want to know about first? 'Vision Break' or 'Dragonic Overload'?" He asked.

"I guess I'll go with 'Vision Break'." I replied.

"Alright then, so first of all, being able to use 'Vision Break' is a sign of great Vision mastery. Although someone would need a good body to be able to use it properly since it takes up a huge sum of energy from a person. 'Vision Break' can also be achieved from strong emotions, being able to unlock 'Vision Break' due to a traumatic experience is more common that people being able to use it through great mastery of their Vision.

Though unlocking the 'Vision Break' state through mastering your Vision is more advisable since it would not need for the user to get use to it. Being able to enter the 'Vision Break' state almost instantly shows great control and mastery over it. The state multiplies a person's stats by three and makes them more resistant to their own element by a huge amount."

"I... see." This information is interesting to say the least. A state that is unlock through mastery or trauma huh. I wonder how those guys unlock their own. Though from what Thraxar said, Jean probably has alot of control over the state or even mastered it.

"Now, for the 'Dragonic Overload'. That state could be achieved through three events. The first one is great mastery over the element you have just like people with Visions. Second is experiencing a surge of a specific emotion, while 'Vision Break' can be unlock through a surge of a emotion, unlocking 'Dragonic Overload' needs a surge of a specific emotion to unlock it. The third event is through consuming another version of your element that is not from a 'Vision' or a 'Delusion'.

Now, for the effects. Just like a 'Vision Break' it increases the stats of the user by 3x. However, since successors like you are already heavily resistance to your element in your case, fire. Using 'Dragonic Overload' will make you immune to your element. Now, what makes 'Dragonic Overload' special is that the state has different stages. The white haired girl used the first stage of the state which is already a great feat of its own."

"I see. So what is the specific emotion do I need to unlock my 'Dragonic Overload'?" I asked. I have to admit, seeing Satomi use the state made me kind of jealous after knowing about it.

"Well, since not only I am the concept of fire and destruction. But also the concept of rage, then you need to experience a surge of rage to unlock. Actually, now that I recall it. You almost used 'Dragonic Overload' againts that Golden Knight you fought. But the reason you failed is because you were exhausted that time and your body can't handle it." He informed.

Now that he reminded me of it, I felt a slight increase in my abilities, though it didn't feel like it multiplied by three. Wait a minute.

"Wait! If you're a concept then how did you die?! And how does the concept of fire and destruction along with rage still exist!?"

Looking at me for a second, he sighed before speaking. "Well, I and my siblings did not actually "die" per se. We just lost our main body and we can't go into and make another one since our energy and power is many times weaker than when we fought Zero."

"I... I see. Wait... how did you exactly know those events that happened in my life." I asked. Because there is no way that he knows about my adventures without something, though I guess the TV is already a given?

"See that TV over there?" He asked as I nod. "Exactly."

"Anyways, wanna play chess?" He asked.

"Eh? We can do that?" I asked. What about his size though?

"Yep!" He shouted before he shrunk down into my size and a board of chess appeared on the table.

"I'll pick the white pieces!"

I nod.

For a while, we talked about things from my adventures in other worlds while we played chess. He also mentioned that me being able to use more than one element is interesting and he did not even know that is possible.

He won again. The score is now 5-7 I was able to win five times while he won seven times.

"Oh, looks like you're waking up, brat. It was nice playing with you!"

"Wait wha-"

Then my vision went black.
