Chapter 9: Adventurers Guild

The first thing Aether did after waking up in the morning was of course take a bath, brush his teeth using... fire. Wash his clothes, wear them while they're still wet and engulf his body in fire to dry the clothes, and with his new Anemo Element, it became much easier.

Going out of the bathroom, Aether saw Paimon finally waking up. He had Paimon go into her sub-space so that they would not pay for two people. It felt like cheating but Aether just decided to shrug it off.

"Looks like you're finally awake." Aether greeted his companion, Paimon nodded before going to the bathroom herself to wash her face.

Aether had Paimon go to her sub-space before going out of his room. He locked the doors before making sure no one was around, Paimon appeared again before bringing the room's key to her sub-space.

As he went down the stairs, some people greeted Aether with a "Good morning", so naturally, Aether did the same.

The door automatically closed behind Aether as he exited the hotel. Taking in on the fresh air that entered his nose. He was thankful that there was no cars polluting the place and he secretly hopes that there were not any. Paimon appeared from her sub-space right besides him, after they were far enough from the hotel.

I do wonder why this world has some modern equipments yet they don't use any cars though. Aether thought to himself. Finally, Aether arrived at the cafe where he and Paimon ordered the same food that they ordered yesterday.

He was thankful that the locals were nice enough to tell him the direction of the places he wants to go to. I really need to buy a phone. He thought.

The duo finally arrived infront of the adventurers guild. Aether was surprised at how the guild stood out among the buildings. The locals weren't lying when they said that the building was easy to find since it stood out. The building was made out of wood, it was about two story tall with the roof being made out of bricks. Paimon quickly hid in her sub-space, trying to be safe from any commotion that may happen.

Entering the building, Aether was greeted by the sight of a place filled with noises. People were chatting happily, while some are on the second floor. Aether noticed a woman that stood inside a rounded table.

She seems to be the receptionist. Aether thought to himself. He walked towards the girl to ask some questions.

"Umm, excuse me." Aether called out, gaining the receptionist's attention. "Are you the receptionist of the guild?"

The girl looked at him for a few seconds before speaking. "Ad astra abyssosque! Welcome to the Adventurers' Guild. My name is Katheryne and yes, I am indeed the receptionist of the guild."

"I see," Aether replied as he glanced around the place more," well I'm here to register, is that... okay?"

"Of course! We'd be glad to have a new adventurer." Katheryne said, before turning around and getting something out of the drawer behind her.

"Here." She said, giving him a card with a circle on the upper right. "Put any of your fingers on the circle, and your registration shall be done. And before you asked, it would only show your full name, your age, your gender and some other information about you."

Aether gulped as he took the card nervously. Damn it! If this shows the information more than necesarry then I'm fucked! Aether shouted in his mind.

"You seem to be nervous. Please do not worry, only me, you, and the other receptionists could see your information. We are also not allowed to talk about the informations about an Adventurer unless it is deemed necessary." Katheryne reassured, making Aether ease a little.

"A-alright then." Aether putted his thumb on the circle. The circle glowed a beautiful golden color, suddenly, the color changed into red color that looks... intimidating?

After a while, the light finally died down. Katheryne quickly took the card and typedall of the information she read on the card in her computer. After that, she gave Aether his card back before bowing. "Thank you for joining the Adventurers' guild. Your four commisions will be given to you tomorrow. And if you ever lost your ID, then feel free to ask us for a new one." Katheryne said before bowing to the new adventurer.

"I see, thanks!" Aether said his gratitude before leaving the building. Not noticing the slight hint of red on Katheryne's cheeks as she stared at his retreating figure.

What is this feeling? And why is my heart beating fast? Katheryne wondered to herself as she touched her chest, feeling her heart that was pounding faster than normal.

Aether sat on the bench at the very back of the park that was in the middle of the city. Taking out his card or should he say his ID. He began reading it.

[ Name: Aether ???, Age: ???, Gender: Male, Vision: None, Weapon(s): Dagger (2), Katana (2).

Additional Info: Loves fighting, would rather fight head on without making any strategy or plans, not a picky eater, loves eating dango and mochi, can vary from a total goofball to a smartass...]

The Additional Information about him was alot longer than he had thought, he putted it back on his pockets before shouting in his mind. Aether sighed in relief as he leaned his head on the chair. Luckily, the ID only put my Family name and Age as question marks, though I guess that will raised some suspicion. Aether thought as he sighed once again. I still wonder why the additional infromations were necessary though.

"Whatever, only I and the receptionist can see it anyways. Not like anyones' gonna see it." Aether whispered to himself. He stood up from the bench before he started walking around the park. It's still noon, I still have a lot of time before it goes dark.

Taking out his wallet and counting the Mora that he still has. I still have alot of mora left. I think this is more than enough to buy a phone. Putting his wallet back on his pockets.

After asking some locals where the shop that sells phone is. He arrived rather quickly. After buying his phone, he exited the place with a satisfied expression. Damn, the price was high. But it was completely worth it. Smiling, Aether put the phone on his pockets.

Putting his hands on his pocket, Paimon came out from her sub-space. "Hey, Aether! How about we explore the city a bit? It won't hurt right?" Paimon suggested.

"Sure, I don't mind." Aether said. The duo then began wandering around the city eating some local dishes, passing by a church, passing by parks, some shops, and more.

The duo did not notice that it was already getting dark. Having Paimon hide in her sub-space. Aether returned back to the hotel. As he layed down to his bed, he tried out his new phone before finally sleeping.
