2 The First Mission

Boris was now sitting on a chair, he had taken time to realize and calculate his current situation in favour of ignoring the behind the desk.

The information that he had died and had been reincarnated into the world of Teyvat, a game he played for some time in his previous life because of it's interesting lore and story.

He had learned that he was a orphan and had been raised up in a random orphanage in Snezhnaya, before eventually showing his talent to the scouts and joined the Fatui. He was right now stationed in Mondstadt, under the captaincy of Sergeant Ivan. Signora was above Ivan and was dealing with more dangerous and important tasks as of now.

From the words of the people around him, he could discern that the traveler had already arrived and had fought the dragon.

The door to the room swung open and a agent with a smile entered, with enthusiasm and joy, he exclaimed, "The Holy Lyre De Himmel has been obtained!"

Running around with Venti, Diluc and Jean.

So they were probably going to confront Dvalin the day after tomorrow or the day after that, from what I could remember of the archon quest.

The thing was that, he didn't know what the fuck to do.

"Hey Sweety Boris, sorry to interrupt your thinking, but Ivan has assigned missions to all the members of squad C, and that includes you. It's a solo mission since it's relatively easy. At the path to Liyue near Dawn Winery, a merchant will be waiting for you, he has hired the fatui to escort him and his goods. Your job is to escort the merchant and his goods safely to Mondstadt. Don't be afraid to steal one or two of those potions when he isn't paying attention. You'll be rewarded accordingly by the organization and me." The woman behind the desk said, giggling playfully at the last part.

Well walking around and defeating some slimes and hilichurls shouldn't be too hard now. He could always ask for directions and he would finally have something to fucking do except for sitting and contemplating.

So, he sat up, looked out of the window and left the building.

As soon as I left, I took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh cold-wind. I took a look at the city of Mondstadt and headed for the city gate.

The thing was, it was night now. Yes, it had gone from Morning to Night, contemplating his situation.

The merchant was likely smuggling some illegal substances, explaining his choice of protection and time to move.

His gaze was fixed on the moon as he walked, eventually arriving at the city-center where the fountain was.

Guess that lore and story studying he did back then for fun and to pass time will actually be useful now-

His thoughts were interrupted as he hit something something and fell back, two thuds thuds were and he could hear an "Ah-" From the person he hit.

He slowly tried to stand up and apologized, "I am sorry, Miss. I wasn't lookin-" His words were cut off by the woman who replied with a calm and apologetic tone.

"No, you don't have to apologize. It was my mistake, I was too lost in my thoughts to notice you." Said the woman.

I saw that the woman was tall who was taller than him by two inches or maybe a little more and had long and beautiful blond hair and wore a formal and elegant dress and a small cape was over her shoulders. (I don't know what it's called but this is the latest outfit of Jean but the shoulders of her shirt aren't cut off.)

She possessed a beautiful face unlike most, it was gentle and showed kindness, she had a elegant and caring aura. Her eyes studied his form with curiosity and unseeable admiration as her eyes focused on his face and then drifted to his neck and then his own and again his face as she admired his appearance.

It was Jean Gunhildr.

She was most likely returning from the Angel's Share after meeting Diluc, Traveler and Venti there.

She offered him her hand and he took it and stood up, bowing respectfully, "Apologies, Acting Grand Master. Forgive my lack of awareness." I said, after all, it was something anyone else would infront of the Acting Grand Master. But he wasn't nervous or stuttering, his voice was calm and stoic like always.

Partially because he was still distracted by his current predicament.

"No need to bow in front of me. And, I am off duty right now so I'd rather be called as Jean." Said Jean waving her hands in dismissive manner while smiling gently.

"Very Well, Miss Jean. I believe that you must be a busy woman, so I'll refrain from taking too much of your time. Have a pleasant night." I said as I nodded at her and began to walk.

"Wait a minute." Said Jean as she placed her hand on my shoulder. "Where are you going to at this hour of the night? It's dangerous outside with the threat of Stormterror and the increased hilichurl and Abyss Order activity."

Well fuck. I knew Jean wasn't gonna let me off the hook if I didn't give a valid reason. "I am going to Dawn Winery to pick up a relative of mine who works there. Before the Stormterror threat came up, she used to come back alone but with the increased danger, I go and pick her up from the Dawn Winery to protect her in case any threats arise. Do not worry, I am trained in combat and i don't mean to brag, but I am more proficient at it. " I made an excuse and I wasn't lying about the combat training part, although I didn't remember anything except some key detail about my past, my body was very strong and built for combat and the muscle memory still remained so I am sure that I could take any hilichurl, although I was exaggerating but it was only to get her off of my back.

"Well, in that case. I, Jean of the Gunhildr Clan. Shall escort you to Dawn Winery Myself. I also have a friend there. Besides, I cannot bring myself to not worry with the threat lurking outside." Said Jean as she remembered the Abyss Mages and the increased sightings of Ruin Guards. "Even if you are trained and proficient in combat, you look young. How old even are you?"

Lying was not an option, especially when someone like Jean, who was proficient in intelligence gathering and negotiations, was the target. She would easily see through his lies and she had a great eye for detail, and adding a year or two wouldn't effect his situation as he still would be too young in her eyes to be out there in the dark where the abyss lurks.

"I am fourteen. But you need not worry, Miss Jean-" I said but was cut off by Jean.

"Fourteen? You are quite young, I thought you would be a little bit older by your stature and physique, But I disgress. You will be escorted to Dawn Winery by me and that is an order by me. Now, let us go."

As they walked towards Dawn Winery, I couldn't help but feel a mix of gratitude and anxiety. Gratitude for Jean's unexpected assistance and anxiety over the potential consequences of being discovered as a Fatui Operative From Snezhnaya. I kept my composure, though, not wanting to arouse suspicion.

Jean, on the other hand, seemed to be lost in her own thoughts as they made their way through the dimly lit streets of Mondstadt. Every now and then, she would glance at me with a thoughtful expression and her eyes would linger sometimes.

As they approached the outskirts of the city, Jean finally broke the silence. "You mentioned earlier that you have a relative working at Dawn Winery. What's her name?"

I hesitated for a moment, my mind racing to come up with a believable answer. "Her name is Elena. She's my cousin," I replied, hoping that Jean wouldn't probe further.

Jean nodded, seemingly satisfied with my response. "Well, Elena is lucky to have someone like you looking out for her," she remarked, her tone softening slightly.

I nodded and continued walking, hoping that she doesn't question me any further.

"Hm. You still haven't introduced yourself properly. What is your name?" Asked Jean as she walked with me across the bridge connecting Mondstadt to the main land.

"My name is Boris." I replied while admiring the scenery I saw many times in-game yet seeing it like was just different.

"Boris? Just like the wolf king of Wolvendom, Wolf God Andreas? What a unique name you have, Boris." Said Jean while looking at me.

I simply stayed silent and continued following Jean, taking in the surroundings and remembering the paths which I had seen before, trying to memorize them.

Jean stood close to me and we continued to walk, the silence became too unbearable for Jean and she tried to start up a conversation, "So, Boris. Who taught you combat techniques? Which art or style do you practice?" She asked.

".... I was taught by my Father who was a hunter. I don't practice any particular combat style just the basic hunter skills and the novice Favonius swordsmanship." I replied as we continued to, noticing that Jean was getting closer, her hand almost touching mine as we walked.

"Hmm.... You know, Boris. You have quite a gifted physique for your age. I am sure your father must be a man with a great stature." Said Jean as she looked at me, her posture was straight and ready for combat if the need arises.

I simply nodded and walked along the path, I glanced at Jean and looked at her face, her beautiful eyes looked at mine, her face beautiful as ever, my eyes drifted down, landing on her chest, her chest was even bigger than the ingame version although just by a little bit and they bounced just like the ingame ones, then, my eyes drifted to her waist, her waist was just as wide as the ingame version and so were her thighs.

Now, I wasn't some simp or downbad for female characters like some other genshin players, but I wasn't someone who didn't appreciate beauty, although I didn't care about it for the most part, not even now. It was just that Jean was very beautiful. Although it didnt really matter much to me, I am no sage and a look doesn't mean much.

Having had enough, I directed my eyes towards the path ahead.

Jean noticed where my eyes went and her eyes widened a little and a little bashful expression appeared on her face. However, upon noticing Boris's indifference, she was confused. But she continued walking and her eyes went away from his face before focusing on the road. She had to admit, Boris was an attractive young boy. (Benzema would be proud. If you get what I mean.) His beautiful eyes and hair reminded her of the snow in Snezhnaya she remembered from when she visited it once as a child. His face was handsome and alluring and that curious look combined with how young he looked, made him really cute as well. His fair skin was also beautiful, complementing his hair to a certain degree and his physique was not too muscular yet admirable. Well, he was certainly one interesting boy.

Boris' eyes suddenly gained a troubled look when the winery came into sight. What was he gonna do? Seemed like Jean's persistence might just blow his cover. Although it didn't necessarily mean trouble for him as Fatui weren't exactly recognized as a criminal and illegal organization by the world, they were the official army of Snezhnaya and were probably the biggest organization in the entirety of Teyvat. But he didn't want to be suspicious in the eyes of Jean, especially when Mondstadt and Snezhnaya were at bad terms with each other although not enemies.

That when he saw a man with red hair tied in a ponytail in front of the path. The man wore noble clothes and a coat and had black gloves.

My heart dropped when I recognized who the man was.

The man immediately turned around and looked at them and raised his upon seeing Jean, "What are you doing here? Jean. And who is that boy with you?" He questioned Jean.

Jean looked at the man and raised an eye brow and said, "Master Diluc?"

Well, whatever the fuck was he gonna do now?
