1 The Dweller in the Icy Mountain

!! Please read my notes first !!

- I am writing this story in version 2.7 of the game, a few days before the release of version 2.8

- I will mainly get my information regarding the game's lore from the Wiki due to my lack of sources in-game

- This will probably have a lot of missing lore from the game, but I always do my best regarding research about this, so don't worry. Though, I advise you to lower your expectations.

- And before anyone asks, no, this is will not have a harem genre.

- The Story's timeline format will be "Before the Cataclysm" which is roughly 500 years before the main storyline. Meaning, the main character is currently living 1,000 years before one of the twins wakes up.

- The main character does not know Genshin Impact.

"Another cold night..." Said a person as a small white foggy breath formed from his mouth's moisture coupled with the surrounding area's temperature.

He was currently sitting on top of Dragonspine Mountain, located in the region Mondstadt. As for what this person is doing, he was just staring up at the night sky while sitting.

It was even a miracle that this person still hasn't turned into a human popsicle from the coldness of the mountain.

As for the person himself, despite the coldness, his expression looks unbothered.

His appearance is that of a young man with crystal-blue eyes and curly white hair. He has a broad forehead and a thin face. His clothing consists of noble origins based on its design and aesthetics.

"When will I ever get out of here..." He softly muttered as he laid down on the snow-covered ground.

The man's name is Isaac Colfield. A person in his middle teenage years. He wasn't someone you might find interesting; mainly because he rarely interacts with people and finds comfort in being by himself most of the time.

This led to him being an outcast. Well, not the bullied kind of type, but the one that doesn't talk to anybody. He does occasionally talk to some of the friends he made in the past, albeit rarely and if did, it will be a short conversation.

Like when he has free time, he would always engross himself by reading in his room in their shared apartment.

However, on one unfortunate night, while Isaac was reading a novel on his phone in the middle of the night, he suddenly felt a blunt throbbing pain in the upper left area of his head. What followed next was the loss of mobility until he slammed down to the ground.

He did not know how or why, but when he woke up, he was greeted with nothing but snow in a cavern that is covered by ice.

He discovered that his facial features have changed when he gazed at a nearby reflective surface, which was a great surprise to him. As for his clothing, it was already there in the beginning.

And that is not all. When he woke up, he found out that the extremely low temperature was not affecting him in any way. For despite seeing ice and snow everywhere, he wasn't able to feel any cold feeling at all!

But his surprise did not end there. Because sooner, he discovered that he has full control over ice. He can command ice to form everywhere he wants as long as little bits of moisture is on a surface where he wants the ice to spawn. When he first used it, he immediately felt like he had full control over it and feels like he had been doing this for decades.

And once he successfully forms ice, he can manipulate it freely and extend it as he wishes. From small bits of moisture in the air to towering ice towers.

But unfortunately, it seems like he was put on hold. Because when he decided to exit the cavern he is in and leave the icy mountain he was on, a transparent shield appeared in front of him on his way out of the mountain that sent him backward.

It was a strange shield. Everywhere he went near outside the mountain, it would appear and block him. Though, it seems like he can still send out some ice outside, not being blocked by the shield.

In short, he was trapped in the forever-snowing mountain.

It has been five days since he woke up in the strange mountain. He had already accepted the fact that he was no longer on earth as he clearly saw some strange things floating on the mountain.

They were floating... Things? Isaac didn't know what they were but they looked like some kind of monster straight out of an RPG Game.

During his five-day stay in the mountain, he found out that he no longer needed to eat any food as no matter how much he moves around all the time, his body didn't seem to need some nutrients to replenish itself.

He strolled around the mountain, too. Found some strange ancient ruins that he decided to explore when he had the chance in hopes that it holds the way out of the mountain. He continued exploring until he saw some boars covered in ice, and in a cave, a giant frozen boar was sleeping. Isaac didn't dare to disturb it that time as he has just woken up in this strange world with no fighting experience.

And now, he's laying down on top of the mountain's peak. It took him little to no effort to arrive as he just formed some ice towers, which worked perfectly despite the fact that it was his first time doing... magic? Isaac doesn't know if it's magic or not but it's convenient.

Looking up at the starry sky as the snow started to cover his body, Isaac sighed as he closed his eyes. He remembered his mother and father back on earth and his two siblings that are about to enter their senior high school years. "I wonder how they're doing...?"

Although a loner, Isaac genuinely cared about his family. He did not want to be a burden to them so he invested all of his time in studying to graduate with high grades so that he can find a good job to support them. But unfortunately, he died prematurely.

He closed his eyes once more and thought of many things that he should do on this lonely icy mountain. "Maybe I should... Make a boar farm..."

To be frank, he didn't need to eat food as his body doesn't seem to need to replenish itself. But he just wanted some company.

"Right. I should visit those frozen boars tomorrow..." Isaac gently muttered as an icy breeze went past his face.

He then shifted his attention elsewhere from the boars. "I wonder if that thing is the key to getting out of here?"

He looked at the center of the mountain summit where a giant pillar covered in ice is seen with the coldness seemingly coming from it.

"Should I destroy it or keep it as it is...?" Isaac said, with no one to hear it.

He continued contemplating as he gently tapped his finger against the giant rock beside him. Finally, he made his decision. "I'll leave it alone for now... And come up with more ideas later..."

Although, yes, he was in a hurry to get out of the mountain, the fact the giant pillar seems to have some strange power in it is making Isaac worried. Who knows? Maybe if he destroys it, it might cause some disaster to befall him or the mountain.

As someone cautious, he doesn't want that. He would first think of more ideas.

He then took his gaze off the pillar and gazed at the night sky once more. His crystal-like blue eyes reflected the sky's starry sky as he slowly went into slumber at the mountain's summit.

'I have a feeling... That I'll be staying here for a while...'
