"I am Amber from the Knights Of Favonius!" Amber did the salute while introducing herself.

"You don't look like Citizens of Mondstadt. Explain yourselves!" Amber looked at us with a stern face. Which is just cute from Aether's point of view.

"Not gonna work on me. It just looks like you're pouting from my eyes." Aether thought not showing emotion on the outside but on the inside he was happy that he got to meet the Outrider.

"Woah there calm down Amber. We're not gonna attack you or anything." Aether explained to Amber.

"Then why are you holding a blade out and guarding that.... mascot... whatever...." Amber asked back but she fumbled when she tried to make a comment about Paimon. This got Aether a little bit mad.

"You could've just said "her " you know." Aether thought. Are all the people in Teyvat sexists or something?

"She's not a mascot. She's my traveling companion and my best friend. I don't appreciate you talking to HER like that" Aether said emphasizing the " her" to Amber. Aether raised his sword even more. If she wasn't going to let them go to Mondstadt, then he'll have to use force if it really comes down to it.

(Damn Aether is protective of his friend. We really need this kind of friend in our lives.)

"R-right sorry about that. S-so you're travelers then. You're not here for trouble are you?" Amber asked. " Uh oh. You shouldn't have probably said that before Amber. Now he thinks you're trying to attack him." Amber thought nervously.

"We're not looking for trouble." Paimon finally spoke up. She realized how tense Aether is and jumped in before he could do something.

"That's what all the troublemakers say!" Amber said stubbornly with both hands on her waist.

"She's stubborn. At least she didn't pull her bow and aimed it at me. I'm not fast enough to dodge an arrow at close range" Aether calmed down and lowered his sword. Amber counted that as a small victory.

"Well since I know your name. You should know mine. My name is Aether, and this is my traveling companion and best friend Paimon. " Aether smiled and introduced himself and Paimon. Paimon just came out from behind him and puffed out her chest proudly.

"Yeah! Paimon and him two months ago and we became the best of friends. Both of us wanted to travel the world so we decided to travel together." Paimon said smiling. It was half true but they decided to not let anyone know about how they actually met. Plus there's also Aether's secret origins that they were obviously not going to reveal anytime soon.

"Aether and Paimon?... Doesn't sound like a local name to me." Amber said confused.

"Of course they're not local. We are travelers after all." Aether stated the obvious and Amber rubbed her head sheepishly.

"So to sum it up your travelers right?" Amber asked to confirm it again. They nodded.

"Well look... There's been a large dragon sighting around Mondstadt recently. Best you get inside the city as soon as possible." Amber warned both of them. Paimon widened her eyes but Aether narrowed it.

"Damn. Stormterror. I'm not strong enough to even damage it. I need Venti's powers to even injure it. Guess it shows that I have much to improve." Aether thought. Already thinking about how to increase his amount of exercise.

"It's not far from here. I'll escort you there." Amber offered her help." Besides,I don't really know if I can trust you yet." Amber thought.

"Amber Amber Amber. You really want me to mess with you huh?"Aether smirked on the inside.

"Escort us? You just want to distract us aren't you. Once we arrive at the front gates you'll immediately tell the guards to throw us in prison right? " Aether narrowed his eyes again and Paimon widened her eyes even more. Aether raised his sword as a warning to tell Amber to think again.

" N-no you misunderstand me! I mean I want to escort you because it isn't safe out here! I won't throw people who haven't even done anything yet! " Amber raised her hand and shook her hand comically just to prove her point.

"Messing with people is fun." Aether thought and smirked.

"Relax. I'm just messing with you. You get really cute when you're flustered." Aether added in a not so subtle comment about Amber.

"W-what.... Cute! I'm not cute!" Amber turned away and pouted. Her face was red.

"Smooth." Paimon thought before asking. " Aren't you here for some other reason?"

"I am. But not to worry. I can keep you both safe from doing that too." Amber turned back and answered. Her face still has a blush on it.

"Are you blushing?" Aether asked slyly. "Man it's really fun to mess with people. Especially girls that are always serious." Aether thought.

" N-no I am not! C'mon follow and stay behind me! I'll explain it as we go! " Amber denied the question. She turned away quickly and walked away fastly.

"Guess we're following her." Paimon said looking at Aether. They went and followed her.

"Paimon has to ask, how are you so smooth?" Paimon whispered to Aether while Amber was not listening. "Just act naturally and go for it." Aether whispered his reply back to Aether. Paimon didn't understand how that would work but she went with it as there is evidence right in front of her eyes.

"So suspicious travelers. What are you doing in Mondstadt?" Amber asked while walking in front of Aether. Aether somehow took that as a challenge.

"No one walks in front of me.... on second thought nevermind." Aether thought his eyes were moving down.

"Damn her ass is fine. But I probably shouldn't stare at someone's ass while they're asking me questions." Aether decided that he could stare at that ass later. He had questions to answer.

"Uhhh. That word traveler says for itself but if you want to know. I'll tell you. Long story short,me and my sister fought someone strong. We lost and now we're separated. I'm traveling the world of Teyvat to find her. " Aether said the truth somewhat. She didn't need to know what really happened 500 years ago. Not yet at least.

"Paimon is his travel companion and guide around the world." Paimon added floating beside Aether.

" Sounds like a noble journey. If I can I'll help you. " Amber offered her help.

" I'm sure you'll be a great help. " Aether said smiling at Amber. Amber looked at him and smiled back.

"Fuck this smile could kill me. In a good and cute way obviously." Aether thought looking at her lips.

(Godamn Aether chill out for a bit you getting to aggressive. The author is laughing his ass off while writing this chapter.)

" So can you actually tell us what your mission is Amber? " Paimon said breaking the moment. Aether turned back like nothing happened and kept walking.

"My mission is to clear out a camp that is beside a road not far from Mondstadt. More and more camps are appearing near roads. The hilichurls are moving even more aggressively when the dragon was sighted." Amber explained her mission.

" I take it's going well with how confident you sound. " Aether looked at her again. Amber's mood dropped a little bit.

" It is somewhat going well I guess. There's too much for the Knights to keep up. We clear one campeand two more pop out of nowhere." Amber said looking down but she quickly looked up when Paimon said something.

"Look! A hilichurl! Go get it!" Paimon pointed at a hilichurl running away.

"Hilichurl or Teleportation Point?" Aether thought. He saw a teleportation device on the hill.

"I'll run to it and touch it. That's all it takes to activate it. Then I'll keep running to the hilichurl and kill it. " Aether decided. He ran to the teleportation device first and touched it. It went from red to blue. Meaning that it's activated. Amber ran after him.

"Wait! You mustn't go!" Amber ran at the same speed Aether was running but Aether still had the lead.

Amber spotted the hilichurl and stopped. She took out her bow and aimed at it.

*Woosh!*

The arrow tip had fire on it. She fired the arrow. Aether who took out his sword was about to cut its head off when he heard something flying towards him fast.

He ducked down. He saw a fire arrow fly past him.

*Poof!*

The fire arrow exploded on the hilichurls chest. The hilichurl flew back and landed on the ground with a

*Thud!*

Aether looked back at Amber with a smirk on his face. Amber on the other hand was smirking and furious at the same time. And Aether can clearly see it.

"I'm about to hear a mouthful." Aether thought feeling bad for his ears and his sanity.
