Three

The Academy is in chaos.

It's been a month since I started as a third year high magic student. After the news of that commoner girl who got no specific affinity in the testing system spread like a wildfire, my supposedly boring life started to turn turmoil.

"Miss Einra we need your help" still sipping from my iced chocolate drink I glance at the panting face of Michelle (a first year representative) who rudely barge in my—the dean's office.

"Belerick and the others wage a bet with that girl again" She said between her breath, pausing for a second before continuing her speech.

"This time it's in the Unleen forest. They wanted to know who could tame Leeris!!" She scream in concern. Slowly pushing the chair farther from her loud voice I look at Neli who has a barrier meant to block noises before nodding.

Sigh. There goes my peaceful break slowly slipping away.

Noticing the shift on my mood Neli who's previously finishing the task given to me by the head master decided to cast a spell that Michelle seems to know but before she could react,Neli's wind spell already throw her out of the room and place a lock magic.

Wow. That's faster than the last time.

"Leeris huh?" He whispered before going back at my supposedly task and said nothing more.

"Yeah, my familiar is rather odd" I said and continue to finish my drink.

It only took 10 minutes before Dean Leo knocked in the door of his office and asked us to help Michelle and in return he will give us an exemption in attending next week classes.

That's a tempting trade for only helping the the sons of the current magic councils.

Unleen Forest is located not far from the house given to me by my mother at the west side of the Academy where Neli and I live.

The forest is meant for the resting area of the student's familiar and untamed magical beasts. As it cliché it may sounds "Familiar" is the term given to any magical beast that form a bound whether by force or with consent with any individual.

Magical Beasts or known as Eilfi has various categories. Eilfi differs from Affinity and Rarity but in my perspective in attitude also. The numbers of familiar that a magician could have depends on his/her ability to feed and provide for their Eilfi.

The stronger the magician is, the stronger their Eifil are.

Neli got three eccentric familiars while I got five. Leeris is one of those five but I got no idea if the rest of the students know that news. Father is the one who suggested to form a bound with that red scaled "pet" when I was eight using an illution potion that deceives me and the rest of our family.

Years passed and the "Bird" I wanted turned dragon grew with a pride that could win against my laziness but it's probably for the best if Belerick and the rest of his group including that girl tamed my dragon.

Though forming a contract with Leeris is impossible , unless they beat me.
