89 CHAPTER 85 THE DIAMOND SISTERS ll

"I need a breather." He mumbles to himself and decides to meet up with the Diamond sisters; their family's history intrigues him greatly.

After all, they are one of the supposedly strongest ancient families; if not for their ancestors multiple dumb decisions, they would have surpassed the Oriend Family by now. This is how great their foundation is.

Even now that they are considered one of the richest powers in their world, he is hoping to strike a deal with them and become more acquainted with them.

If he can obtain a supply of pets, he can definitely obtain more strength, especially now that the function fusion is involved. He might not want to experience that soul-tearing pain, but just in case a special evolution requirement is needed, he would not need to search for other alternatives.

Of course, Leon follows after him; he is now known as the silent bodyguard of his, and people actually admire him, especially hearing the make-believe story that he has created for him.

"I want to meet him! He owes me big time." When they arrived near the entrance, they immediately heard the commotion, startling Flare's guards and Elcio.

Meanwhile, Cleo frowns after hearing the voice; he feels that it is very familiar. He speeds up, and they are then greeted by a surprising scene of a cute girl being subdued by a female wearing unique silver-white armour.

Ersha was next to them, watching the scene with a dumbfounded look. The cute girl paused, pointed at Leon, and shouted.

"It is you, the guy who does not speak!"

Without hesitation, she struggles wildly. Getting away from the girl with the unique armour, she grabs Leon by the hand and holds it tight.

Cleo orders him not to attack, and as he recognises the cute girl, it seems that she has not changed at all.

She flashes a victorious smile and starts interrogating Leon.

"You cannot get away now! Where is your partner!? Where is that liar!? He told me that he would come to our stronghold, and yet I had not heard of him after all of this time! Do you know how much I spent in order to collect multiple pet-type soul blessings!?"

It seems that because of Cleo's transformation, she does not recognise him, but what she said stunned him. Intense excitement can be seen in his eyes; he cannot believe that she would do such a thing after just a verbal agreement.

"Pearl, what are you doing, questioning this poor fellow? Did you forget that he is not only mute, but he is also deaf?" The girl wearing the unique armour immediately grabs her and yanks her away.

Pearl blushes after being berated; she is not angry at her sister but at herself; she forgets the fact that this person in front of her is a pitiful being that is incapable of living by himself.

Cleo starts coughing.

"Ahem! Leon is no longer deaf; he has mastered a technique that replaces his need for his ears to hear sound, but he is still mute."

The two Diamond sisters marvel at his make-believe technique; they cannot help but scrutinise Leon deeply, trying to find what is different about him.

Other than the fact that he is still wearing the same mask, he seems to be the same. Cleo does not want anyone to see Leon's true face, as they would be shocked to find out that he has the same exact features as his current body before his transformation.

*Cough* *Cough* "It has been a, no, I cannot say that it has been a long time; we met again, noisy girl." He smiles at her as he presents his hand to her.

Pearl looks at him with confusion, and suddenly, something clicks on her head. She is shocked as she stumbles back and falls on her buttocks. She points at him and shouts.

"Liar!"

Cleo freezes as his lip twitches. He takes a deep breath and asks.

"How am I a liar?"

She quickly gets back up and grabs him by his clothes as she bites his hand. He wants to scream but holds it in as his eyebrow starts twitching. If not for the fact that his tolerance to pain has gone up, he would have shouted already.

"Pearl! Behave yourself! You are in front of a direct descendent of the Oriend Family; how can you act like that while representing our family!?" Her sister shouts solemnly.

Startled by her shout, she lets go of him, looking at the bite mark on his hand. She looks at him in a pitiful manner and starts blowing the mark; shockingly, she even licks it. The sensation sends shivers down his body.

Her sister can no longer hold herself and smacks her on the head. The loud sound of the smack stuns everyone that is present.

"Ahem! Miss Diamond, I presume I did not lie to you regarding our agreement; unfortunately, the academy has rules regarding the attendance of their students. Hmm, if I am not wrong, you and Miss?".

"Chrystal, Chrystal Diamond, you can call me by my first name, as calling me by our family name will only cause confusion for her." She glares at her little sister.

"Right, I shall call the two of you by your first name; if I am not mistaken, the two of you are also students from the academy."

The two nod their heads; they cannot deny such an obvious thing, especially considering that both their talents are considered top-notch.

"So, the two of you should know about the rules regarding attendance. I was forced to return in order to not be expelled; I had spent too much time out of the academy because of a certain problem."

Pearl looks at her sister, and Chrystal nods her head. She knows this rule and was not surprised that Cleo did not visit their stronghold; she knows just how strict the academy is on these types of things.

"I am grateful that you understand, see, miss Pearl; your sister understands what I am saying; that means that I am not lying to you whatsoever."
