2 Chapter 2- Hiding and Running

Arc hid a little while still looking towards going people. But, when he tried to hide and peak, he stepped on some dry leaves and it made a voice that can be heard clearly in this silent forest.

"I think, I have heard something. Maybe there is some beast here too. Let's kill it before going ahead." A Girl in the group people said.

Arc knew that he might have been found out, and he knew that as he was a beast now, he would be hunted by this group of people.

So, to protect himself and avoid being hunted so easily, Arc decided to run and his running method was typical Armadillo digging.

With his sharp front claws, he dug like crazy and started digging downward like crazy.

On the surface, a group of people followed the girl to the place where she heard the voice, but now there was nothing but a hole dug by some beast.

"There is nothing to see, maybe the beast has run away, but it should not be the case because the lower-level beast does not have the intelligence to make decisions about running. They only know one thing and that is about attacking crazily." Someone said.

"Shut up, we have to return to shelter within some days and during those days we have achieved our target of getting a certain beast soul." A strong-looking young man was holding two boomerangs in his hands that were shimmering with metallic light.

The group again departed in the direction they were going in previously.

Arc who had now digging for quite a good time was met with a hard surface underground that even his sharp claws could not penetrate.

Arc knew he could not return to the surface or people find him and hunt him. So, he just changed the direction of digging from down to the right side.

He dug for some time, and now his body was feeling tired. He stopped for a little to look and think about where he should go because he couldn't just keep digging in some random direction without thinking.

He made up his mind that he would just in this same direction for some time to come out of another place and would start digging to the surface.

Arc did as he planned because he continued digging in the same direction, before he could change direction to an upward direction, he met with light in that dark area and then he started falling in a downward direction.

"Oh shit!" Arc screamed out in his mind at himself.

Instinctively Arc rolled his body and was now in the position of an armadillo which was being into a circular ball.

"Bum…"

Arc crash-landed on a rocky surface from a higher place but the armour shell of a mortal ranked beast armadillo is really strong which helped him survive the impact of falling from such height.

But he can still feel a sharp pain radiating from the point of impact. And his shell was now chipping a little.

Arc tried digging, but he failed because this rock surface was quite hard and even his surrounding was made out of this same rock.

His body was running out of energy and now he just wanted to eat something but he didn't what this beast even ate.

"Do they eat other beasts or some plants as well?" Arc thought.

Looking at their surroundings, Arc found that he was near a pond of water.

Arc reached toward the pond, so, he could at least drink water if not eat something.

Arc looked in the water and saw that water was clear and he could see to the surface which was covered in green stuff.

Then Arc's gaze fell on his image in the water. It was the image of an armadillo of larger size than normal and its body colour is also silver.

Arc dripped his claws in water and the water felt cold to the touch. Lowering his head, arc drank water bit by bit.

But Arc felt something wrong because there was a movement below water in those green things.

Arc didn't make much movement while drinking water so it is out of the question that it is the result of his actions.

Arc moved back looking sharply into the water, he saw a shadow of something like a rope move in the water and before he could react it was in front of him.

This thing was none other than a green snake.

"Wait, if this green thing was a snake that means…" before Arc could complete his thought, he was caught off guard by the bite of a snake.

The relieving thing was that the area of their body which was bitten by the snake was his shell which did not let the snake bite him.

Arc rolled into a ball and tried thrashing into a snake but the snake was agile and could not attack.

Arc tried many times but it was unsuccessful and his opponent snake was in the same position because it couldn't injure him because of think shell.

Arc stopped moving and stayed put in one position.

Snake revolved around Arc in circles and then attacked with a bite again, but this time Arc waited for the correct moment and a bit on the snake's neck.

"His…."

Snake hissed in pain and started shaking his body to get out of the mouth of Arc. But Arc didn't let the snake go and bit even deeper into it.

Snake whaled in pain for some time before his body stopped moving.

Arc moved and saw that the body of snake was bleeding hard.

Then he saw many other snakes of similar colour and size moving in his direction. He knows he can't run so he makes a crazy choice and jumps in water while rolling into a ball to make himself a little secure from snake bites.
